The PAST offers you NO FUTURE anymore

Blair Singer argues that old habits and strategies won't work anymore and you need to deliberately reset yourself. He uses his Kilimanjaro climb and COVID isolation as turning points, then walks through sales skills, small teams, daily routines like the miracle morning, and how to handle overwhelm.

Greetings and happy Thursday, wherever you are. Middle of the night, middle of the morning, middle of the afternoon, whatever it is good to see you. This is Blair. Good to see all you guys. And I'm excited about today for a couple reasons. First of all, I wanted to share with you, as promised, I'm gonna share with you some pictures if I can get the technology to work from Kilimanjaro. The other thing is. And how that relates as well is the title today. The topic today is that your past offers you no future. Your past offers you no future. And that didn't used to be the case, but it is the case now. And that can be a horribly devastating thing, a harsh realization, but it can also be liberating at the same time. And so I want to go through that a little bit and your comments and your questions around it. As you know, we spent a couple of weeks talking about the racing pandemic that nobody's talking about, which is the pandemic of mental health, of depression, of lockdown, of being isolated and, you know, all those things changing. So hopefully we've addressed that. If you got some lingering questions, happy to answer those because there were some great questions the last couple of weeks. So today is about the fact that your past offers you nothing. As a matter of fact, if it offers you something, probably offers you a liability. And what do I mean by that? Well, anything that you were doing in the past up until 2020 and now 2021 and going forward, the chances are if you are, let's see, if you're in your 40s or above, let's say in your 35 or above, it's going to be very, very difficult for you to take on new stuff. Now, that's nothing new. But the truth of it is the markets change in such a way is you have no choice. You have no choice. I know people that would love to. That would love to build their businesses, but they're not good at selling and they just don't want to learn how to sell. And so they've had other people sell for them. You know, the truth is now if you have a mission, you can't sell it. Whether you're selling a product or raising capital for your business, it's just not going to fly. So the skills of being able to do some of the things that you didn't do before are phenomenal. Let me give you an example. I came back from Kilimanjaro. It was amazing trip. Unfortunately, as some of you know from last week, I got Covid and so I was locked down. As you can see. I'm no longer. I'm Covid. Free now, which is great. But I was forced into my bedroom for two weeks. Two and a half weeks. Two and a half weeks. And some people say, oh, my God, so boring. Purgatory. Well, let me tell you something. Other than the fatigue and some of the symptoms, it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Why? Because it forced me. Listen closely. Forced me into a reset mode. It forced me to stop. You know, kilimanjaro is great because you go up there and I've said before, everything below the clouds just seems not as important as it used to be. Hold on a second. There we go. Hi. And on. Okay. Doesn't seem as important as it used to be. And, you know, you have a tendency to want to shut things down, start things up and reset your priorities. But the problem is, when you come home from an event like that, over the days and weeks, the rest of your life kind of compresses in on you. And remember, as we've always said, environment is stronger than will. Right? Environment is stronger than will. So what happens is so. So what happens is all those best laid plans on killing and except for the very, very, very deep ones just somehow flitter away. But this time for me, because I was locked down and forced into a reset for. Forced in my room, forced to only do certain things and not do others, not be surrounded by other people, was one of the best things that happened to me. Now, I'm not saying it's for everybody. One of the best things that happened to me. I got more work done. I finished my book, Summit leadership. You'll see some blurbs on that. We did a great interview that you'll see all over social media here in the next day or so about Summit leadership, which are the stories of from Kilimanjaro and how they apply to your business in your life. And some of them are amazing. So I finished that. I started another book, finished a couple projects, closed the door on a bunch of other ones, and it was great. And I did it right from where I was sitting. And it was, I almost don't do this, but I almost wish I could put myself in isolation like that again periodically because it allowed me to see what I needed to see. Now, the truth of it is, one of the things that happened, and this goes back to the title today, is that I had to do some selling. I, you know, I had a program to do, and I had a big offer to Make. And as you know, if you're in the speaking business, offers are all or nothing. You either. You either sell something there or you sell nothing. And so it's always over. All the years. Even though I teach sales, I love sales. It's always caused stress. I stress about this, stress about that, worry about this and worry about that. And, you know, and finally I'm in my little room and I'm going, enough, enough. I'm not doing this anymore. Think to yourself when you've actually said to yourself, enough. This has got to stop. I am not repeating this pattern anymore. I'm no longer going to be afraid of this thing. I no longer want to stress about it. I'm not going to do that. And I just. I was ranting around my room. Nobody heard me, and nobody was around, but I did. And I was. I was so focused, and I meditated on it and I visualized it and I said, I'm. I'm just not going to do this anymore. Came to the offer, was the best offer ever did. Normally, with that number of people, we would close 20 people into the. Into our. Into our program. We close 40. Double. 100% increase. Now, 100% increase in my business at that price point is pretty good. Okay, so I. It's like at 5, roughly at $5,000 a person, that's pretty good. Okay, so I. It was a big shift for me, but what it did is it forced me. Listen closely. Forced me to close the door, Write it down. Close the door on some things of the past that were bugging me, bothering me, persisting with me, no matter. I mean, I did hundreds of thousands of dollars of coaching and processing on myself, you know, from other coaches, and I could never get rid of this thing. But I tell you what, something happened when I went into isolation and had the time and the peace to cut off from my past, to cut off from my future and reset, but not just say, well, I hope I'm gonna reset, and this is what I wish I could do, or what? No, I got adamant about it. I got adamant about it, and here's why. Right now, there are a lot of people that don't want to go back to work. They don't want to go back to work. They want to stay home. But what are they going to do at home? It's a kind of a, you know, what am I going to do? I need my income, and my employer wants me to go back, but I don't want to go back because I like it at home. I like my Free time. I like being with my family. You know, I like that peace of mind. But what am I going to do? Well, that's a good question. What are you going to do? I just recently saw online there's over a hundred, the hundred most popular side hustles. You know what a side hustle is? It's a side business that you can generate additional income from. And so people are flooding into side hustles hoping that one of those will stick on the wall and they can make a career out of it. Well, some things have to change. Your past. If you've been. Give me an example. If you've been working your entire life, you know, your entire career, your adult career, you've been working for somebody else, and now you don't want to go back to work. Guess what? You're not prepared. You're not prepared to sit at home and to be and to self initiate and to create and do all those things on your own. I'm not saying you can't do it, but don't think it's going to be a walk in the park and don't think it's going to be easy. It might be fun for the first couple of weeks until the reality sets in and you realize that you don't eat unless you sell something. Okay? So again, what you've done in the past may be offering you absolutely no future. Okay? If you decide your future is going to be different and for everybody, your future is different. I use that as an example because I've seen it all over the newswire. People don't want to go back to work. People don't want to go back to work. The job market is bigger than it's ever been. There are more jobs in the United States economy right now than ever before. But people are not going back to work. Okay, why? Because they don't want to. Well, it helps that the government's kind of padding them along the way a little bit, but even so, it's not much money. And if you're going to make a change in the future, your past, not your skills, because we all know we gotta get new skills, we gotta learn to sell, we gotta learn to collaborate, gotta be build teams, all these things to build a business if that's what you want to do, number one. But, but the, the challenge, I'm not even talking about that. I'm talking about your habits. I'm talking about the way you lived your life. I'm talking about the deeply ingrained, almost DNA ingrained habits and tendencies that you have that you've developed up till now in your life that's maybe not going to serve you unless you decide. Unless you, A, can identify what's stopping you, B, you have the passion and the power and the commitment to do something about it. Three, that you have the patience to form a new habit, to form a new environment for yourself, and to be unwilling to take a step backwards. Not for everybody, and not everybody's going to do it. And sooner or later, people will go back to work, or sooner or later they'll look to the government for a handout so they don't have to go back to work so quickly. But the truth of it is, is that your past does not offer you a future. The way we lived, carefree, no masks, no vaccines. I'm not Pro Vax or Minus Vax or Promax or anything like that. But it's part of our world, right? All that stuff ain't going away too quickly. Okay. Employers trying to get people back to work, that's not going away. Work needs to get done. Yes, it needs to get done. Have the narratives changed? Yeah, the narratives have changed quite a bit. So now your ability to be able to withstand the narrative, to have your own opinions, to believe what you want to believe without ridicule or being able to handle the ridicule if you were a snowflake before, it's not going to be any easier going forward. Okay. Hey, Bimal, Good to see you. Bin Bui. Good to see you. Slam the door is a nonsense. That's right. Very good, very good. Yeah, you got to slam the door on things. And that's. That's well said whoever who said that. Yeah, I'm not. You got to be willing to slam the door on it and not just say, well, I don't want to do that anymore. No, slam the door. Slam the door. Okay. What areas, number one, are your habits, number two are what you have to conf, what you're willing to confront and how you position yourself. So if your position was that of an employee in the past, then going forward, being an employee is the way you were an employee in the past is not going to help you at all going forward, particularly if you don't want to go back to work. Okay. Or sitting in a cubicle, you, if you're now used to being on zooms with all kinds of other people, now you're locked in a little cubicle, it's going to drive you a little crazy. You got to make a decision whether you want to do that. I'm not saying you can't do it, but that's kind of your positioning, right? What you're willing to confront. Okay, so what are you willing to confront? Are you willing to confront? Most important thing to be able to confront is yourself. Your own bad habits, your own tendencies. And to tell yourself the truth, don't pat yourself on the back, say it's okay, you're. No, not this time. Not this time. It's time to be a little bit ruthless with yourself. To be ruthless. That's the word. Ruthless. Okay, with yourself. And be willing to say, okay, if I clean the slate and I hit the reset button, now, who do I want to be? Now what do I want to do? Who do I want to be? Do I want to be an entrepreneur? I've never been one before. Do I want to be one of those. What's that look like? Talk to. Well, talk to a few. It's not easy. It's rough. You spend more time. In many cases, you spend more times down than you do up. The ups are great, and overall you're up if you do well. But as we know, over 50% fail in the first two or three years and 50% of the rest fail in the next two years. Why? Not because of their competitions? Because of this up here? It's because of this up here. Okay, so it's your positioning and of course, your habits. Your habits. What are your habits? So every morning I get up. You've heard me say this a million times. I do a miracle morning every morning. And I do meditation and affirmations and visualizations and very rigorous exercise and scribing and reading every day. Every day. Every day. Even if I don't want to listen to this. Discipline. I've said this before. Discipline, according to my teacher, Mac Newton, is doing what you're supposed to be doing when you're supposed to be doing it, whether you like it or not. Whether you like it or not. Okay. Whether you like it or not. Some people say, well, I just don't like to sell, or I don't like marketing. I just like to do coaching. I don't like to do the rest. And I'm going, it doesn't matter whether you like it or not. Sometimes I have a very different. As a business, a coaching business. And she decided, and she's a great coach, a great processor, but she decided that she needs to learn how to market her business. And she hates marketing. Doesn't like it, never did it before. But she took a deep breath and said, I'm changing this Right now. And we did. I did a pert chart with her and her small team, and that was just before Kilimanjaro. And now they're flying. They're generating over 100 leads, new leads a month, good leads, they're marketing, they got systems, all that stuff. Why? Because she decided to slam the door on her old habits. I'm just a coach and a processor, Damn it, I'm going to learn this. Damn it, I'm going to do this. It's time to stop screwing around. 20, 21. Time to stop screwing around and to stop doing what? What you were doing before. I told you a million times, I've said I sound like a preacher. Stop doing that. Blair. I've said a million times that Covid, as awful as it's been in many cases, is a blessing, and it's a message to all of humanity. It's a message to all of humanity. We have kicked the can down the road on our finances, on our businesses, on our health, on our education, and we can kick it no further. We've hit the wall on it or the cans falling over the cliff, and we're going to follow it down there unless. Unless we finally confront all the issues that we didn't want to confront before. So now with masks being, you know, governments trying to say no masks, and school systems saying we gotta have masks, and parents saying we don't know, and all this stuff. So what do I see Already? Already it's August, and some schools have decided to revert back to the online education system, which didn't work last year and is probably not going to work again because they haven't changed anything. They've changed nothing. They haven't changed the way they teach. They haven't made. They haven't repositioned themselves. They haven't confronted the real issues. So. And they have some really bad habits. School teachers, just like anybody that's been employed by somebody else, you get lulled into something comfortable, and you just don't want to change. You know, it's like if you're an older teacher in your 50s, you know, maybe I got a couple more years till retired. Do I really want to do this? I just want to hang in there. You know, I love kids, and I just want to do my thing, and they're going to become casualties. And if they don't become casualties, the world will definitely pass them by. So when I went to Kilimanjaro, When I went to Kilimanjaro, it started this process. It came at the. We had to Skip Killy in 2020 because of the pandemic. And then we all snuck, a bunch of us snuck over there and had mostly the mountain to ourselves. It was one of the greatest resets. I want to show you because I promised this last time. Promises last time. I want to show you some pictures from there because I think I figured out how to do this. Anon says 20% jobs worldwide expected to be automated by the end of 2022. Right. Selling skills will be critical in this global jobless gig economy post lockdown. Yeah. You know, but if 20% of the jobs, current jobs are automated, that doesn't mean more new jobs aren't created. Okay. And, and so you're exactly right. And on it. And so if, like you said, if you need something, this is going to be. This is going to be perpetual sales and marketing. These are things the ability to communicate, to sell, to lead, to teach, to inspire. These are timeless. These are timeless. And while some of those are automated, the ones that are truly transformational are not automated. I'm not saying they won't be, but, you know, automation is a good thing. It allows us to do more with less. Ultimately, prices should come down around the world. Unfortunately, asset prices are in artificial bubbles are keeping prices up. So that's another topic for another time. So let me show you something about Kilimanjaro here. I'm gonna share my screen with you, make sure this works. How does Killy relate to all the things that we've been talking about? How does it relate? Let me show you here. All right, here's the screen. And let me go to. I'm not gonna show you the whole thing here. There's Killy. Now this is coming out of the rainforest. She's formidable. Okay. 19,341ft. This is approach one of the flanks. Those are glaciers. That's not snow. Those are glaciers up there. This is. And as you go up there, you're now either above the cloud line, below the cloud line, or in the clouds. So you're kind of in that place. But being there offers an automatic stop to take a look at the world around you. Not distracted by your phone, not distracted by your spouse, not distracted by your kids, by other people, by the news media. Nothing. No traffic, no airplanes, nothing. And what you faced with is nature as she has been for hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of years. Okay, so here is one of the valleys looking over one of the valleys as the clouds are rolling in, killing in the background, flamingos. Sorry. There we go. So this Is that zone. My sister Sarah, who lives in Cincinnati, an amazing trainer. She's an amazing trainer. She says, when in doubt, always look up what's above the clouds. And so I took this picture. We took this picture for her because this is above the clouds and below the clouds. But notice how, as you look at the picture, notice how your body feels. Most people never see something like this. Why? Because you got to work your ass off to get there. It's something that not the average person can do or even wants to do, because it's hard work to get there. Timeless clouds rolling in into the valleys below and rolling out. Something interesting about Kilimanjaro. Blair, you're just. You're just all high from your program. You're just all high from going to Killy again. Well, yeah, I am, but here's why. Here's why. This is at one of our camps, and this is sunset. Okay? Now, what I have people do at sunset, Bucky Fuller was very, very adamant about saying it's not really a sunset because the sun's not setting. The Earth is rotating. The Earth is rotating. So people look at the sun, which is not moving. Not moving. And just keep watching it, because as you watch it, you'll begin to feel the horizon is actually lifting as you're rolling away from it. See that rolling away from me? Maybe you can even feel it a little bit as you're. As you're looking at the picture now, when you actually can almost feel a pressure under your feet as the Earth is rotating away, as it has done billions and billions of times over history for you, it's the first time. And all of a sudden, your. Your frame, your positioning, your positioning in the world, in the universe, changes in an instant. It's not Blair centered. It's all. It's. It's all. It's a universe all working together, co functioning together. And then when you actually begin to feel that, you don't feel small. You feel like you're part of something much, much, much bigger. Much bigger. And. And the reason I do this is that maybe if I. Let me show it to you again. Sorry. Let me show this to you again. Okay. So here, here, here. Feel the horizon lifting here. Boom. Making sense. That makes sense to you guys. Let me know. Yeah. It's amazing. Yeah. The. The climb is. Is. The climb is a reward. The summit's not the reward. It's. It's what happens when you climb it. Now, this is on summit morning, where we're clearly above the cloud. Most of the clouds now as those clouds roll in, everything below that is where we live every day, where we're living right now. But when you're from this advantage, somehow whatever's down there doesn't seem below those clouds, doesn't seem nearly as critically important as it used to. Your priorities reset, it's an automatic reset. That's why I go back every time. This is our sunrise on. On summit day. And again, you can't quite see it because of the clouds, but the. The horizon is now dropping as we're rotating now into the. Into the sun. So just have you check these out. And one more. I just need to show you this one. Okay. This. When we summited, the first team that got to the summit is very cloudy that day. What I'm doing is I'm holding up ten fingers because that's my tenth summit. Ten times up, up to the top of this thing, 5,900 meters. So hopefully. Do you enjoy that? It's not about the destiny. It's not about the destination. It's the journey where the learning is maximum, just like life. Yeah, it is. And the beauty. The beauty of that is that you don't really even have to go to Kilimanjaro to it if you decide to make a decision in your life to reset. And I'm just going to advocate that for most of you. If you guys are trainers or whatever it is that you do, probably one of the best things you can do is to create some solitude for yourself for a week or two. You know, go away, be away, turn everything else off. And I'm going to promise you, I'm going to promise you, if you can do it, the same thing's going to happen to you. See, there's a process that Alan Walter taught years ago. It's called compression matrix. And what compression means is that when you are where you are right now, where I am right now, with family and business friends and all this stuff all around and all the stuff that's on my calendar and all that is that all compresses in on you, right? It compresses. And so you respond to all of that. So your life becomes mostly living in. Living in an environment where things are compressed around you. When you. When you go into solitude of some sort or isolation of some sort, or go on a climb like this to kill you, what happens? All that is blown away. Boom. Is blown. The minute you get off the plane, Boom. It's all blown away. It's gone. And now there's this gigantic open void. And the only thing in it is you and the rest of the universe, not all the other clutter that's in the middle of it, in between. And it's my belief, having gone there 10 times and taking several hundred people up there as guests and having. And debriefing with them and experiencing with them. My experience, it happens for nearly not everybody, but nearly everybody. Nearly everybody. And it's, it's powerful, subtle. But if you're. If the. If the past is not going to offer you anything into the future, then my best solution to use or. I said I'm gonna, I'm gonna. I'm gonna make this resolution, I'm gonna set these goals, I'm gonna do all this stuff. All good. But first, take some time to isolate. Okay? If you got Covid, hopefully you don't get it badly. You know, you don't have bad symptoms. But if you're locked down, use it. Lock yourself in someplace. Don't go anywhere. Have somebody bring the food to the door or whatever you got to do. But you don't have to go to a mountain, but do something that forces all that compression out of your. Out of your space. Because only that's why very few people become entrepreneurs, is because there's a few people that have the power and the mental will to be able to push it out of their space long enough to stay focused, to get what they need to get done, or they have some natural skills that they're good at that they can do. But that's not me. That's not me. That's not probably you. And so I'm going to suggest that if the, if the, if the past does not offer you a future, then it's time to reset and create a new future. But start from clean. Don't start from news media, politicians, spouses, kids, parents, clergy, media, all that. Don't start there. Get that out of your. You as a human is my belief. Now, everybody may not agree with me. That's fine. My belief. I don't get that I'm strong enough to push all that away all the time. I can't. But if I put myself in a position, positioning, then I can get pretty adamant about I could get clear, set priorities. Priorities become very, very clear very easily. And from there, start creating. Create your future. The future's never been brighter. I mean, there's more jobs, like I said, more jobs than ever before, more opportunities than ever before. Technology is racing ahead like never before. Our education system sucks. We all know that it's upside down. The healthcare system sucks. It's Upside down. As my friend Radha Gopalan, he's my cardiologist and an organ transplant specialist, says, it's not a health care system, it's a wealth care system. And it's a wealth for the healthcare organizations. They make money. The insurance companies make money. It's not designed to give you health, is designed to help you when you're sick. But health, just like climbing Kelly, doesn't start the minute you get to Killy. Climbing Killy starts six to nine months ahead of time. When you start preparing, your health starts six to nine months before COVID hits same education, same thing. Finances, same thing. Think about that pattern. Okay? So if you're going. If you are going to reset in the areas that are most important in your life, and if you can at least hear my message and be inspired by the rotating of the earth, because as Bucky Fuller said, he goes, you didn't create the universe and you're not running it. And when you stand there and for a moment and you actually feel the earth rotating, when your whole life was positioned that the sun was coming up and the sun's coming down, I mean, you knew about the rotation, but the sun was coming up and the sun was coming down. The sun is going up, the sun is coming down, and for the first time, you're going, oh, my God, it's not do. It's not going anywhere. I mean, then you can add the fact that we're. That we're clocking around this thing at about a thousand miles, you know, going around, you know, rotating at a thousand miles an hour. And it's taking. It takes, I don't know how many hundreds of thousands of miles it takes to orbit the sun. And I mean, your brain all of a sudden begins to go, holy mackerel, I'm part of that. I'm part of that. And the difference between, as Carl Sagan said before he died, he said, the difference between us and monkeys, between human beings and monkeys, is that we have the ability to perceive what I'm talking about. You have the ability to perceive yourself in the universe. Most animals have no clue. None of them have a clue. But we do. And when and if you were given that talent, that ability to do it, shouldn't you be using it? If you have a specialized skill that allows you to think bigger than. Bigger than beyond, shouldn't you use it? But no, you know, I got to go to work today. I got to commute. I got reset. Reset. Otherwise your past will doom your future. It's not just for you it's for everybody. Because if you don't, I'm, I'm. I've said this before, is that, is that there are rough times in for many people. Even businesses that are doing well now after the pandemic, they haven't made. They, they, they were lucky to have made some sort of a shift, but I don't know that their mindset shifted yet. I don't think it has. But if you do, you'll become a great, great, great leader. Let's see, what do we have here, Tila? Best be best family for teachers and leaders. Time to reset and create a new future. That's right. Thank you. I, I love you too, guys. Final frontier. Humanity is not the dark outer space. It's the untapped inner mind that can perceive the. That space, that can perceive that you're part of the universe. So we're both right. Okay. Thank you, Tila. I love you too. I'm eager to join Mountain Leadership 2022 with you and, and K2. Well, you guys are all welcome anytime you want to. Just go to blairsinger.com and check on and click on Mountain Leadership and you can learn all about. Okay, Final Frontier Islam. Rashad, There's a new site to learn English. Okay, vocabularies. Hi, Blair. No speaking engagements. Clients are changing words. Feeling isolated, what to do? Okay, Jati Singh. Okay. No speaking engagements. I hear you. So again, what's happening is the reset's catching up to you. My suggestion, like I said, if there's nothing happening, use the time if you can to isolate for a little while. I mean, I'm talking about really spend the time with yourself to just be read. Do daily gratitude exercises. Don't try to push it, but allow things to roll into you and to say, you know, what does I really want to do? How do I want to contribute? You're obviously a teacher or a trainer. What's my message and who do I want to deliver it to? And you'll come up with some great strategies. You'll come up with some strategies that will allow people to understand who you are, what you do. I mean, for nothing less than creating a video on your phone after you've reset a little bit and you say something like this, you know, I was thinking, I was thinking to myself, what do I, as a trainer, as a coach, why do I do this? Why do I do this? And the reason I do this is because I truly believe that in everybody's heart there's the ability to be a great person, to live the life you really want to have and to do so without all the stress and all the angst. And that's why I do this, because I've had moments of it, and the more I learn, the more I want to share it with other people. That's why I do this. And do it from your heart and send it out onto social media and mention if you agree with this, you have a comment. Just type in agree or give me a comment and we can continue the discussion. That's it. See what happens. See what happens. But. But don't do it out of desperation. Do it out of inspiration. Do it out of inspiration. Just share with the world who you are, what you want to do. Yeah. You don't have speaking engagements right now, so can I tell you, I don't either. I haven't had a speak. I think I've had two speaking engagements. Yeah, I think I've had two speaking engagements in the last year and a half that paid anything. They paid very little. Every. All the other stuff is I've done for free and I've just been a guest or I've been interviewed and that's all I've done either. But that. But. But through it, we reset the way we do things. Used to be very expensive, airplanes, all that kind of stuff, and now we don't do that anymore. I do it right here, and it's very inexpensive. Trainer Mastery Program, for example, the Trainer Mastery Program, which is the beginning of our funnel. $15. That's it. Three days, $15. Me and you. And I show you how to train. I show you what it's about. I get it. Hopefully inspire you to want to be another great teacher and leader in the world. Now if you want to take the next step, there's more steps after that, but it's $15. And now and. And through the first six months of this year, we've trained five times the number of people that we trained in this. Introduced. I'm sorry, introduced this to five. You know, the idea of training to five times the number of people that we did in any. In any of the best years we've ever had, and we've made more money. Figure that out. Why? Because we stopped doing what we were doing. We didn't try to go back and hope the weather would change and try to make it work another way. No, it's over. Technology has changed everything in a good way. So I hope that helps a little bit. TMP Rashmi is taking it. She says TMP is priceless. Thank you. How to handle overwhelm okay, well, how to handle overwhelm. Okay, so pad. I'll just go call you Pat. Okay, so, Pat, it's a great question. How do you handle overwhelm? Well, overwhelm simply means you've got so much coming in that you can't figure out how to. What do I do first, what do I do second? And it becomes. And then you have this sinking feeling like you're drowning. Well, there's a couple things. First of all, if you have a team, if you have a team around you, you should be able to avoid overwhelm. If you don't have a team, get one. And if you don't, say, I don't have any money, get yourself a personal assistant. Then pay them part time. If they only work one or two hours for you a week, just pay them for that. That's it. Okay. And let them go do the groceries. Let them take your. Get your laundry clean. Let them run the errands and take that off your plate. That will remove some of, some of the overwhelm. Okay, first thing, I was taught that many years ago. Second thing, if you have a little bit of a business, if you're generating income, get a bookkeeper. Same thing part time. Do have them, do the numbers, report them to you every week. Take that off of your plate. You can't generate wealth without a bookkeeper. Okay? So first thing, build yourself a little bit of a team. Second thing we talked about today, you need to reset. I would bet that 60 to 70% of what's causing you overwhelm is needless stuff. That stuff that you can either give to somebody else or is irrelevant, never going to happen anyway or shouldn't happen anyway. How do I do more with less? How do I, you know, if we learn anything from technology, is we able to do more with less at less cost? Okay, so if that's the trend, how do I do that? That's how we did our business. If that's the trend, how do I do that? And I didn't know, but I, you know, you talk to people, talk to your team and do things like that. Okay, all right. Learn a great lesson of how to make the best during adversity. When you conducted our MFP sessions despite having Covid. Yeah, well, you know, I delivered MFP while I had Covid, but luckily I didn't have to run around and jump around and do too much. I mean, it was. I conserve my energy so it breaks. I would lay down before, you know, I'd sleep. As soon as the program was Over. I'd go to bed, I'd sleep for about three or four hours, get up, then sleep again until I had to get up and do it again. But, yeah, but that's what happens, Rashmi, when you do something that you're passionate about. I believe in all my heart that Covid is the best thing that's ever happened to our planet. People say I'm cold. And if you've lost a loved one, it's not to disrespect that. Because they should have never died. They should have never died. And that's why it was priceless, because it offers us an opportunity to get a lesson about our health. Vaccine. No vaccine masks. That's all crap. I mean, the truth of it is, yeah, maybe you need to, maybe you don't. But that's not the problem. The problem is the fact that people, people's immune systems and their health is such, in such a deplorable state globally that this thing came in and just preyed on everybody that had any, any speck of weakness. Myself too, you know, So I have to get better. It forces me to work on myself and get better. And if I can do it at 68 years old, you can do it at whatever age you are too. Okay? So it's not impossible to do. So hopefully that will help you. Oh, you want to know why attitude is everything? Somebody asked about that. Attitude is everything. I mean, because think about this. Everybody wants better results, but where do your results come from? Your results come from your behaviors, right? You want to be in great shape. You work out, okay? If you want to lose weight, then you stop eating bad things and get some exercise and drink a lot of water. Water. Okay? So behaviors give you results, but what affects your behavior, what affects your behavior is your attitude or your mindset or your little voice, whatever you want to call it. So again, if you're, if you feel like, well, you know, I worked out yesterday, I'm a little tired, I'm not going to do it tomorrow. And then tomorrow comes and then you don't do it then either. What's that all about? That's about your attitude. If your attitude is, I'm going to reset, I'm going to do this, I'm going to create a habit out of. I'm going to, whether I like it or not. I mean, I didn't like doing miracle mornings. You know, it takes me 30 to minutes to an hour to do it before I start my day. I don't have the time to do this. And I just did it. I just did it and did it and did it and did it and did it, you know, for a couple of months until it became a necessity to do it. And then I wanted to meditate better. So I. I'm learning from most amazing Buddhist monk from Thailand and he's teaching me every Monday morning how to meditate better so that, that gets better. So, so I change. I reset. I've got to believe that all these trips. See, I'm not as smart as some of you. Taking me 8, 9, 10 trip summits to Killy for me to finally get the power of the reset. For some of you, maybe you just got it. Maybe a couple of those slides and you just got it. And if you do, thank you so much. One of my patterns that I also like to change, although I'm not too adamant about it, is that I have a tendency to learn things the hard way. And I think that the reason for that is I'm as open minded as I think I am. I'm still pretty stubborn about some things. That's number one. Number two is I think that because I learn things the hard way that I have to. I go through a lot of tough experiences. Not life, not life threatening experience, but lots of, lots of experiences is because it makes me a better teacher. It allows me to feel what other people feel. It allows me to speak to them on their terms because I know how it feels. I know the frustration, I know the agony. I've been there, unfortunately. And I continue to stay there in some areas of my life and I continue to work through it. And that's what makes you a great teacher and leader, by the way. It's not that what you did in the past, it's who you are and what you do in the moment that makes the biggest difference. Okay. Yeah. Attitude affects behavior, which gives you the success and the results. Absolutely. 68 years old. You're an old man, buddy. Yeah, thank you. Yeah, I agree with you. I don't think a bigger lesson from adversity can be learned bigger than covet. And I would agree with that. Like I said. Why? Because the three biggest institutions of our lives got, were. Were revealed. The curtain pulled back and. And we realize that there is no wizard there. There's some guys pulling levers and they. And just like in the wizard of Oz and there's nothing there and it's broken, severely broken. And creates an opportunity for us as leaders to jump in and say I'm going to take this part of it, I'm going to fix it. And I'm going to do it in my world and hopefully other people. That's why I'm training trainers. I mean, I could be doing professional real estate and flipping properties and doing all that stuff, but I'm not. Why? Because I'm adamant about this. Because I know if I. If I asked myself once in a. In a reset years ago, I go, if there's one thing, one thing Fuller said, what could one person, one little guy do? If there's one thing I could do, what would it be? And it turned out the one thing I could do is help you guys become better teachers, leaders. To teach in a way that everybody grows, that would be the greatest leverage. Not me trying to train every. Every person or coach every person or go to every country like I was doing at one point in my. In my career. No, it's teaching you how to do it so you can teach other people how to do it. And so I think if we all do that. So, Blair, please give a quick lesson for dealing with the little voice in this tough time. Okay. He may be 68, but I challenge anyone to take him on during a workout session. You've been to some workout sessions with me. Awesome. Quick lesson, and then we're going to wrap this up. Okay? So a quick lesson for dealing with the little voice and tough time. First step is always the same. It's to realize that you have one, that you have a little voice. And it's not necessarily the real you. It's a composite of other people, of teachers, preachers, leaders, politicians, the media, all that stuff. That's what it is. So to first of all realize it's not you, and to be able to sit outside of yourself and say, wow, where'd that little voice come from? Say it right now. Say, wow, where did that little voice come from? Say it again. Wow. Where did that little. So by simply saying that, you have disassociated yourself with the little voice. That's the first thing you know. The second thing is, is that you can choose your thoughts. It's called the lot law of replacement. As bright as you are, the human brain can really only hold on to one thought at a time. So if you're saying just anything to yourself about not being good enough, not smart enough, all of that, just change it around and turn it into an affirmation. So I'm not smart enough. So what would you say? I am smart. I am smart. I'm smart. I'm smart. I'm smart. I'm smart. Just keep telling yourself you're smart. See, your brain doesn't know the difference. So again, affirmations are very powerful ways of. In the moment. I'm not saying permanently, but in the moment of reprogramming what's going on in your head. You say I'm a horrible father. No, I'm a great father. I'm a great father. I'm a great father. I'm a great husband. Great father. I'm a great husband. I raise strong, healthy, happy boys who do great things and get their goals. I'm committed to a loving, intimate and joyful relationship with my wife. I say these affirmations every single day. Every single day. Even when I'm having. Even if I'm in an argument with my wife, I'm saying them every single day. And if you can. And again, I suggest the book Miracle Morning. If you could take on just a couple of those things every day, I would say the affirmations. The other thing I would say is to do a daily gratitude exercise. At the minimum, I have a whole exercise. If you want it, type in the in, send me a message on Facebook or, or Twitter, whatever. Say gratitude exercise and, and we'll. I'll send you one or, or we'll make it either. That will make it available@blaircenter.com you can just download it for free. So, gratitude exercise. What are the 10 things I'm grateful for today? They may be different tomorrow, but what are the 10 things I'm grateful for? Being present. I'm grateful for now. I'm grateful for my health, I'm grateful for my family, I'm grateful for my education, I'm grateful for the learning that I do. And every day, every day you want to learn to control your little voice. Yeah. I can give you a little technique. So you go to little voice mastery or you can go online. We have a 21 day challenge that every day I teach you a new technique and you can apply that. It's free. Do that. I mean, if you. Blairson.com or on YouTube, there are so many ways to control your little voice. Just pick one, Pick one and. But do it diligently. Consistency, consistency. You know, you do it for five days, you start to feel a little bit better, and then you skip for three, you're back to zero. Okay. You've got to do it consistently. It's like working out. And I would say this final thing on consistency and discipline is as you get older, there's an old adage, you either use it or you lose it. So you use it or you Lose it. So in other words, if I'm trying to build muscle mass. When you're young, it's easy, okay? Because I have lots of. As a young male, you have a lot of testosterone and all that, and you can, you can build muscle. As you get older, that testosterone level drops a little bit. And so if I don't work, I, I don't work out for, let's say I work out for. I'm in great shape, but I decided to take three or four days off. Okay. Now if I'm 30, no problem. I come back a little sore, but I'm good at 68. I take five days off. I'm feeling it. It's going to take me another five days to get back to where I was. Okay? So the same thing is true with your mind. Same issue in your mind. You either use it or you lose it. So people say, well, I don't want to learn that. I don't want to learn this. I'm just staying my little place because I'm really good here. Even though the world doesn't want what you're doing that much anymore or is not willing to pay for that that much anymore, that's what you're going to do. So the, your mental and emotional faculties that used to be vibrant when you're in your, when you were younger are not as vibrant anymore. Why? Because you have some habits and it's uncomfortable and I don't want to do it right. Okay. So again, consistency is critical. So hopefully that was a whole bunch of stuff. Time takes time and effort to go uphill, but in just a little while, one can come a long way downhill. Consistency is the key. Yeah. I would also say, Rashmi, sometimes it's. It's easier to go up than it is to come down. It's easier to come up than it is to go down. And that's true on the mountain for sure. Sometimes is also true in your life. So you've come up to a certain point. Now you have to come down a little bit to reset and go forward. And that's hard for some people to do, but not for you, because you're here, you're learning. You guys, some of you are great teachers and leaders. And if you don't have one, if you're not one, you might want to consider becoming one. It's one of the greatest side hustles even that you could have for yourself to be able to teach somebody else something more rewarding than just about anything. So, again, thank you guys for this week. It's been a great one again. If you want the gratitude exercise, send in, you know, type it in here that you want the gratitude exercise, or go to my website, say you want it. I'm not sure. I think it's. I know it's there. I'm not sure if it's in the free section, but we'll make sure that it is. Okay. I want you to win, and I want you to be awesome. Okay? Have a great week. We will see you next week. Next time. And I'm so glad to be out of quarantine. The downtime was good. I'm ready to rock and roll. Okay, we'll see you guys. See you next time.
