The Unspoken and Somewhat Unknown Secret about Pitching a Deal

Blair Singer (speaker) explains a concise method to make effective pitches: people quickly judge you on three things—respect, trust, and likability—so prioritize demonstrating credibility (a two-sentence statement) and an emotional why-story to win them over in the first 10–30 seconds. He offers a free Storyboard Builder template through his website to help people craft that opening and invites viewers to join paid coaching programs to scale businesses.
On your ascent to building a fully scalable business, or in your ascent to achieve any major goal, there's one little thing that nobody ever told you about and they don't even care about. And when you make your pitch, the thing that trips up everybody, they don't care what's on your business card. They don't care what your title is. Okay? So. So by the way, if you want to learn to go to a fully scalable business, go to blairsinger.com plan and let's sit down with you and talk to you about it. See, Help you chart a course to get there. But what I'm here to share with you right now, there's three things that you're trying to learn, three things that you're trying to get them to learn about you. Number one, when you go to pitch, whether you're recruiting, whether you're raising capital, whether you're selling your idea, whether you're talking to investors, whatever it is you're trying to do, people make the mistake. Well, because I'm so and so, because I'm the president of this company, people are going to respect me. No, they don't care. Even your staff doesn't care. Even people that are not going to buy from you don't care about any of that stuff. What do they care about? Three things. They want to know whether they can respect you, whether they can trust you, and whether they even like you. That's right. Trust, like, respect. That's it. And there's a and so to try to agonize over how to do that can drive a person crazy. As a matter of fact, one of the reasons people don't like to sell reason. People don't raise money because they don't know how to pitch a deal. What if I could tell you that you could do this in like two minutes or less? Two minutes or less. Okay, so there's two things you have to consider. Number one, logically, why would they trust, respect and like you? And emotionally, why would they love, trust, trust, like and respect you? Okay, two things. First part is credibility. It's really simple. It's a two sentence, two sentence fill in the blank statement that immediately satisfies the left side of a person's brain. So they go, okay, person's legit, but I don't know if I trust them. The second part is the reason why you do it, why you sell it, why you're raising cattle, why, why, why all the whys behind it. And that can be agonizing because you know, and I Know that. How long does it take for somebody to make a judgment of you? 10 seconds max. Okay, 10 seconds max. Maybe 30 if you're lucky. And sometimes it takes months, years. And you can never unimprint what's been imprinted in a person's mind, right? So it's critical to understand it. Okay? So again, why do you do it? And that's usually in the form of a story that's told from the heart, where you're honest, open, vulnerable, emotional. If that happens, not required. And so I've helped hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs and trainers and teachers all over the world to master and knock out solid the first couple of minutes of their presentations so that no matter what happens after that, the impression is left, well, I like you, I trust you, and I respect you. And I respect you. Now, again, how hard is that to do? It's exceedingly difficult unless you know how to do it. Unless you know how to do it. So what I did is if you go to blairsinger.com blairsinger.com success and you go to Starter Access and you join our Free subscription. Free subscription. For free content. I have something called the Storyboard Builder. Storyboard Builder. It's basically about 10 sheets of paper. You just fill in the blanks for whatever kind of person. Maybe you're a drifter, maybe you're doing it because it just seemed like a good idea at the time. Maybe you've had a. You were a disaster at some point in your life and you turned that around. Maybe you had a calling, maybe something. So I give you about six or seven different templates that you just drop in the pieces, and a whole worksheet as to how to find out what those pieces are, and you fill in the blanks. And I can tell you that if you just do. If you just recite what you wrote down on the storyboard, how you fill in the blanks, they will like you, they will trust you, and they will respect you. They don't care what's on your business card. They don't care. CEO of such and such a company, really, they don't care. They might say they do, but inside, they don't care. Nobody tells you that. People say, well, you know, you get to a certain level in your life, then people will respect you. No, because the people who respect you respect you because they know you or they don't know they know you at some level. But if you've only got 30 seconds in front of a group of people, or maybe two minutes, the first 30 seconds are going to be critical. So go to polarisinger.com success.
