Using the "Anchoring Love" Technique to Overcome Obstacles

Blair Singer teaches anchoring, a technique where you recall a moment you felt completely loved, then use a physical cue like a fist to access that feeling when doubt hits. He shares how his wife's reassurance before marriage and his son's birth became his anchors.
Hi, this is Blair Singer, author of Little Voice how to Win the War between youn ears in 30 seconds or less and a founding contributor to Radical Wealth. I'm here to talk to you about a very, very, very powerful technique, little voice technique called anchoring. Now, we've talked about anchoring before, about anchoring success, but probably the most important anchor you can have in your life are those times when you experienced 100% love. That's right, a time in your life when you knew you were 100% and completely loved. Now why is this important? Well, it's important because a lot of times our confidence is eroded. We have self doubt, things show up in our lives that tend to intimidate us. Our confidence level goes down, our energy level goes down. And you need to have moments in your life that you can anchor from the past that were powerful enough to get you to override the down feeling you're having in the moment. We talked about anchoring a time when you were successful, making a fist and saying yes, recalling a time when you did something where you felt accomplished. Even more powerful than that is anchoring a time of love for me. I recall great times in my life. The time when my wife got in my face the day before we got married when I was having doubts about getting married and she said, blair, I want you to hear me, I am never, ever, ever going to leave you. And when she said those words went from her heart to her eyes, to my eyes to my heart. And I can remember that even though it was over 24 years ago, I can remember as if it happened 10 seconds ago. And I can always go back to that place, make a fist, say yes. Because I am 100% love, as you are too. The only one better than that was July 17, 1995, when our first son, Ben was born. And I remember him coming out of delivery, looking down at him. His eyes are wide open already. And as I reach down to touch him, as a newborn will do, he just grasped my little finger and in that moment it was love, it was success, very powerful anchor. You have anchors like that too. And all you need to do is to take the time to sit down with your eyes closed and recall time in your life when knew you're 100% loved. What you saw, what you felt, how it experienced, came upon you. Was it something somebody said? Was it a look, a touch, whatever it was. And right now, if your little voice is going, but I can't think of a time, tell your little voice to shut up and just make one up. It's true, because your mind makes it up anyway. So if you can't even think of one, make one up. Make up a time in your life when you felt you were 100% loved. And learn to anchor that. And anchor it again and again. So that in the times of doubt, in the times of indecision, when confidence levels are low, you can close your eyes for a moment or look up. Access visual memory. Make a fist. Say yes. And just know that the love in your life has given you the strength of your life. Be awesome.
