What you need to do for goal setting in 2022 - Goal Setting Tip | Blair Singer

Blair Singer says start 2022 by making a "not to do" list to clear old baggage, then set goals. He emphasizes patience, gratitude for adversity, and intentional planning to serve yourself and others.
Tells you to do this. But on the last day of 2021, I'm going to give you a message that no one ever is going to deliver to you. Because everybody's saying, to create your New Year's resolution, set your goals. Don't do that. Don't do that. Last piece of advice for this year, don't set goals yet. Make a list of the things that you don't want to do. That's right, a not to do list. Think about it. You try to set new goals for the new year. They'll never get done because you're still cluttered, you're still carrying bags of things that you should be letting go of. Let go of old baggage, of old people, of old routines, of bad disciplines. Make a list of all the things that you want to let go of and leave in 2021 and say goodbye to all of it. Say goodbye to it, okay. That's probably the most powerful thing you can do. Spend your weekend talking about that. We writing it down. Then go set some goals when your slate is clean. So many people set goals on top of baggage, then the baggage will undermine what you're trying to do. That's my first and most important message. The other thing I want to say to you is this is the one thing that I've learned out of 2022 couple. Not one thing. Are two or three important things I want to share with you. Number one, patience. Patience. If there's one virtue to take on, if there's a value to take on, make it patience. I know that sometimes we view people that are impatient with honor. We think they're kind of cool because they're rambunctious and they're ambitious and they get what they want. That's old school. Be patient. Now, patience doesn't mean it's not an excuse for procrastination. Patience is not an excuse to not take on difficult tasks. Patience is not something that you can justify your procrastination with or delaying the things that you know you need to do. Patience is, as my teacher Matt Newton says, is doing the work, doing the hard work and letting nature take its course. Just let nature take its course. That's right. But be patient. If things don't happen as quickly as you like, that doesn't mean you back off. That means you just keep hold steady, hold, hold true to course. Weather the storm, whatever you want to call it, Go by your guiding light. But be patient. Be patient. Because with patience, nature has time to do what it needs to do. Bucky Fuller Once Said you didn't create this universe, and you're not running it. You're not. And if you're patient enough. That's why some of the people are not the smartest, not even the most energetic sometimes get what they want and accomplish many great things in their lives. Why? Why? Because they were patient. But again, patience is not an excuse. It's not. It's not an excuse to not have a plan. It's not an excuse to avoid difficult things. It's not an excuse to procrastinate. Okay. Patience means you do your work and let nature take its course. And don't quit. Keep going. Stay true to your vision. Okay, that's. That's another lesson. Next lesson is this. And that is. Is gratitude. Behind every. Every traumatic experience, everything that's happened to you this last year, think about it. There's a blessing on the other side. Remember, there's two sides of the coin. There's the heads, the tails. Your ability to stand on the edge and see both sides of every situation. I think you'll look Covid. Pandemics, failures, successes, all of them are blessings in disguise. And if you. The faster you can get to it, the more calm, the more conscious you'll stay and you'll become. And if you can carry that into 2022, you'll do extremely well. Okay, and the final piece, the final thing I leave you with is, besides the gratitude is plan. Plan. And what I mean is you don't need to create strategic plans, but design your life the way you want it. Be an architect. Bucky Fuller once said. He goes, we're designed to be architects of our future, not its victims. Design your life the way you want it. Design your business to serve you, not for you to serve your business. Design your mission in life to serve you and your mission in life and your personal life as well, to serve you and serve others. More people you serve, the more effective you become. Bucky Floor used to say, but make sure that you plan it, that you have a strategy. And so. And change your strategy if you need to. Don't run blindly. Stay persistent. Be patient. And again, I'll circle back to gratitude. I want to thank all of you that have tuned in to my. To my station, to my channel, and to listen to the things that I've had to say. All been very heartfelt, and all have been because of the experiences that I continue to have in my life as I work with people all over the world. So I'm grateful for you. I'm grateful for all the people that have supported the work that we do. I support all of you. I'm grateful for all of you that are that are committed to being the best teachers, leaders and facilitators that the world has ever seen. That you in your lifetime will be able to see the fruits of your labors. That you'll be able to transform the way people learn, transform our world, transform our communities, transform your businesses and transform your lives. I'm grateful for all of you. So Happy New Year to you. Happy New Year to your families and give them a big hug. Take an extra day. Remember, remember make a list of what you're not going to do before you start making a list of what you're going to do for the next year. Thank you so much you guys. Thank you for a great run for a great year. I love you all and I look forward to working with all of you next year again. Be amazing and happy New Year.
