Vizzy launches a 21-day gratitude challenge inspired by a 2020 Reddit project. He cites a stark statistic: about 21 U.S. veterans die by suicide each day. The challenge asks people to name one thing they're grateful for daily, record it, and pass it on.

Hello everyone, this is Vizzy coming to you from Silicon Valley. And yesterday I was actually talking about a thankful heart. I thought a few of you were able to attend live. I talked on Thanksgiving yesterday about having a heart of thankfulness, and I said how Commander Theresa Carpenter was the one in 2020 when my mother died challenged me for a 21-day grateful challenge, right? The challenge was put out by a project on Reddit. That's because in America today, about 21 veterans die every single day because of suicide. And of course, being grateful does so much wonders for you, one of which is to really improve your mental health. So yesterday, I talked about that project again, and I feel like I'm gonna need to do it again this year, so this is my very first video of day 1. I am thankful for something, so the idea is to be thankful for one thing every single day for 21 days straight, and each day you need to challenge somebody else to kind of join the challenge with you. So for today, I am very, very, very grateful that throughout the pandemic last year I am still alive. You and I, we made it. More than 600,000 people died last year, and that's a lot of people in the US, right? A population of more than, what, 300 million people? But you and I, we are still here. And for some of you who probably got the COVID disease, you still made it, right? You were able to actually work through it, and you are still alive and well today. So I am very, very, very thankful for that. So now let's go ahead and select— I'm going to challenge— who am I going to challenge in my LinkedIn network? Let's go and select the one at the very top, Commander Retired US Navy Chris Gaucher. He was my mentor when I was at the Naval Postgraduate School. I would like to challenge Chris to please join the Project With It Grateful Challenge for 21 days. I would like for Chris to also be grateful for one thing every single day. It would be nice to maybe record a short video and then challenge somebody else to be thankful for one thing, just one thing, throughout the entire day. So today I am very, very thankful that I made it through the COVID pandemic of 2020.
