Elizabeth Gilbert says that every artist and creative leaves day one of their new project feeling just elated. We're, like, ecstatic about what we've made. And then we show up on day two and we just freaking hate it. We show up disappointed in what we've done. We're just like, all the shame and guilt starts to just pile up, right? And the only ones that make it are the ones that get to day three. And day three requires mercy. Day three requires showing up with empathy for yourself, knowing that you're going to disappoint yourself, knowing that that's going to happen. So the question becomes, are you going to let it all go and give up, or are you going to show up and disappoint yourself over and over? My hope, just like Elizabeth's, is that you're going to show up ready to disappoint yourself in the best way. Because, you know, on the other side of that is something really special. And I've been hearing a lot of you from these videos saying how much this resonates with you. The things that I'm talking about, this idea, like, here's some of the things that I'm hearing. It's hard for me to show up for my audience when I feel like I'm completely exposed. This one hit me. Cause this is totally me. I feel like I put up these massive walls so that I don't let too much in or out. And I do that because I'm afraid if I make mistakes, then I'm gonna end up losing credibility with my audience. If I make some sort of mistake, they're gonna think I'm a fraud.
Ugh. This is like, this one is so big for me. And honestly, this is part of this exercise for me. This is part of showing up, right? This is part of thing for me is throwing out the rule book and just throwing myself into the work, throwing myself into the practice. It's been so freeing for me. Another one was if feel like if I can't do it for me, if I can't show up for me, how can I show up for my audience? Oh, guys, let's start preaching here. You want your work to be noticed, but you don't know how you'd act if it was. In other words, you show up in the room and you're like, well, I hope somebody kind of, like, pays attention to me. But then if somebody does, you're like, was that even real? Like, is that an authentic hey. Or is that like, somebody just having pity on me? Like, the moment that Somebody gives you a compliment. This is who I was when I was younger. The moment somebody gives you a compliment, you talk yourself down. You tell them, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not that good. Blah, blah, blah. Like, you cannot accept a compliment because you're so afraid of looking egotistical in any way, shape or form. You're worried about sounding stupid. You wonder how you can do it when nobody's paying attention. Can you show up when there is no audience? Can you show up when there's nobody there yet? And if the answer, if you resonate with any of that or the answer to that last question is no, then you're missing something. And I'm going to argue that that is mercy. That is mercy on yourself. That's the thing that Elizabeth talks about. It's the day three. If you can't always show up to day three and keep pushing through, then I have a challenge for you. And this is an idea that I had in the shower today. So I want to just let you receive this for what it is, which is a messy idea that I can't help but just do. Okay, I'm going to do something. Starting on.
See, Monday, November 30th, we're going to have a challenge and I want you to be a part of it. We're going to do this. It's going to start on Monday the 30th. Our first meeting is going to be at 4pm Central Time. And at the end of this, what you're going to know is what your strengths are and how you can start to use those strengths to show up more as yourself. You often don't see your strengths. I'm going to give you an exercise that is going to allow you to. To see what other people see in you so you can start to recognize the person that truly exists and to be that person more often. When you show up.
We'Re gonna know how to push past the fears of showing up. Even when it's difficult, right? Even when you're small, and even when nobody's showing up on the other side of the screen, on the other side of the phone, on the other side of the concert hall, on the other side of the art gallery. It doesn't matter, right? We're going to learn how to show up and push past those fears. We're also going to learn how to identify and utilize your unique values. If you've taken the quiz yet, you'll understand what I'm talking about. We're going to identify and utilize your unique values so you can serve others with your creativity. We're going to talk about how you can do that. If you want to take the quiz and see what I'm talking about the link for, it's in the description. We're also going to talk about. And you're going to learn how to connect with the right audience so that they'll be in it for the long haul. Because I want you guys to build something that really lasts. Right? This is not about like all the followers. If you've heard of the thousand true fans rule, all you need is a thousand people that are willing to pay you $100 a year. That's $100,000 for I guarantee most of you, if you had a thousand people that would pay you 50 bucks, you would feel ecstatic. That's what I'm asking for here. I'm asking for you to invest $50, actually $49 into the thing that is going to potentially put you out there more real, more vulnerable in the right ways. We're not talking about getting out there and doing the bleeding heart thing. We're talking about showing up in a way that makes people say, I love that person. I love what they're all about. For 49 bucks, we're going to do four weeks together. I just want to say that my consults usually run 197 for an hour and we're going to get four hours here. We're also going to. So you're going to get four one hour calls. Like I said, the first one is November 30th at 4pm and they're going to happen every week consecutively for four weeks. All calls are going to be recorded. So if you can't make it, that's totally fine. They're also going to come in an audio form so that you can listen back on the go. If you're like me, you're a podcast listener, we're going to make sure that happens. We're also going to do a lot of like, mindset coaching in these calls because most of this is this, right? And I'm so excited about this. This is my favorite thing to do, is to get you guys in a room together. And I should also say I'm only limiting this to 30 people because I want to keep it intimate. I want to make sure that we only allow enough people in there that when we do these calls, everybody feels seen and heard. Everybody needs to feel seen and heard. I want that to happen. So we're gonna do mindset coaching in these. We're gonna talk about, talk through these fears, we're gonna bring them up. We're gonna get vulnerable with each other, which is gonna make us connect with each other. And I think that's gonna be so cool. Is it gonna be hard? Yes, it's gonna be hard. I guarantee you that part is probably gonna be harder than the $49 that you're gonna drop to take this class, right, to do this workshop with us. Because to show up and be vulnerable and talk about what we're afraid of is scary. But when you start to do that, you start to break down these walls. You start to get past this thing that really makes all the difference, right? Telling you, the people at the high levels, their mindset is so clear, their focus is so clear. And so we're also going to do.
Exercises. I'm going to have exercises for you to strengthen your confidence so you can move forward faster. So I've got some really great exercises that I've honestly, I paid a decent amount of money for, actually a lot of money for. And I want to do it with you at this cost because I just think they're so good and it's totally worth it. We're going to have a private Slack channel so you can share how you're showing up to your audience with our community. Right? So we want to be there to encourage each other. I want you guys to be there to encourage each other. And, and for some of you, you may not have an audience yet, and that's what this is for. Because how do we learn to show up when nobody's listening? I think part of it is just having a support group. When you have people around you, a community, it matters, it's necessary. So this private Slack group is gonna be that, so you guys can connect with each other, share what you're doing and get feedback, get ideas, get encouragement. Just start your own little focus groups within that. So cool. And again, like I said, we're limiting this to 30 creators so we can keep it intimate and everyone can be seen and heard. Again, it's only $49. I'm only letting 30 people in. I know I've at least sold five of those spots already as of right now because I had some, some of my 20 minute calls today and we are calling this the Stand up and Stand out workshop. Learn to authentically show up for your audience. At the end of this, you're going to have a better grip on who you are and how you can use your strengths and values to get intrinsic motivation so that it's no longer about the follower count. It's no longer about the amount of money that you're making. It's no longer about making sure that somebody else thinks the best of us. It's about the practice. It's about showing up. Because somebody out there needs what you have. You just don't know it yet. Somebody out there needs what you have. So I want you to join me. This is going to be something really special. When I have these moments that I just kind of show up and have an idea and I just act on it, it always ends up being some of my favorite things. And I cannot wait to spend a whole month, four weeks with those of you that are willing to invest in yourselves. Invest in yourselves. Right? We're talking about like, we're talking about 12. What? $12 a week for four weeks. That's like. I spend more than that on coffee, right? So totally affordable. Come hang out with me. I'm excited about it. Alright guys, I'll see you tomorrow.
