Lennon Bone, a professional creative with 20 years of experience, argues that artists shouldn't wait for permission or outside help. He got a record deal, commercial work, and a YouTube strategist role only after he took action first. Keep moving whether others support you or not.

Unfortunately, artists have been taught for a long time that someone else has the keys to your success. One thing that I've learned, you know, in my 20 years of being a professional creative in some way, shape or form, is that the people that we want to come and help us don't come until we have the power in our own hands. They're looking for opportunities to see that we can do it on our own, because then we're a better investment for them. This is how the band that I was in was on a record label. This is how I started doing some sort of commercial music. The job that I got to have as a YouTube strategist, like all these things came because somebody saw me making my steps first. Did they still help me? Absolutely, and I am so grateful for their help. But remember that when you're waiting on somebody else, you've lost control of the situation. This is your art. Take back control. Do it for you. Just keep moving with or without them, okay? You deserve it. Your art deserves it.
