You just got diagnosed with ADHD. Now what? So the 2 main things that happen when people get diagnosed is the elation about, oh my gosh, this isn't just me. Now I understand it. It's a thing. At the same time, there's the grief that hits because there are some things that you may not like about behaviors you have related to ADHD. And from there, what we really need is dive into understanding what it is. One of the fantastic things about ADHD is it's very well defined. And once you get a little bit of education, that's going to help you understand a lot about how your brain chemistry is really affected by ADHD. One of the kind of 3-legged stools that people talk about is coaching or therapy. If you want coaching to have something one-on-one that's really going to help you put together a plan and a strategy and routines that are going to make you a lot more successful, that's great, but that's not for everybody. If you're not interested in coaching or therapy, I highly recommend finding a community. I started the Atomic ADHD community online so that people could come Couple times a week, whenever they feel like it, drop in, talk about the things that are going on with ADHD in a confidential place, meet other people, become friends, help each other out. It will change everything for you because when you're talking to other people that are sharing stories just like yours, that helps you know it's not just you.
