ADHD doesn't require medication alone. Eight hours of sleep, more fruits and vegetables, less sugar and alcohol, and regular exercise raise dopamine and sharpen focus in neurodivergent people far more than they do in others.

Meds are not the only way to manage ADHD. The pros and cons of medication really kind of vary depending on a person and what they want to do. If you don't want to take medication, then there are typical things that are brain boosters for everybody, but for those of us who are neurodivergent, those things are much more exponential and powerful. So for instance, making sure to have 8 hours of sleep, eating more fruits and vegetables, less sugar, less alcohol, more exercise. Those things will affect everybody, but if you're neurodivergent, those things give us not just the dopamine we need, but they can also give us an executive function boost and they can help us to focus better.
