China depends on external trade while North America is largely self-sufficient. The US, Canada, and Mexico have two ocean access, internal grain and oil, mineral reserves, and cheap labor. If global trade stopped, geography and resources would give North America a decisive edge.

Who wins in an economic war versus China and the US? We haven't seen a war like this before, so there's really not a playbook to go to, at least in recent history. But I look at economic stability and size. China is very dependent. North America, United States, is very independent. We import relatively few things. If you look at North America as a whole, we have 2 oceans. We have all of our grain in the middle of our country. We have oil supplies that are deep. We have Canada and Mexico with cheap labor in Mexico and Canada with a lot of good mineral reserves. Now, we do need imports from other countries for sure, but in a world where trade gets cut off, North America is an incredibly better just geographic location than China and Asia.
