Bridger Pennington launched six businesses in two and a half years after his father gave him a computer on his first day of college, aiming to make a million dollars. His early ventures generated $100,000. A switch to a Mac sparked a surge that hit $2.5 to $3 million in sales, though he credits the real breakthrough to his mindset about the technology itself.

So, my first day of college, I got a brand new computer and I remember my dad sat me down and said, he's like, Bridger, computers are incredible machines. Some people can click some keys on it and send a person to the moon and other people can click keys on and all they can do is like watch pornography. He goes, figure out how you can use this device to change your life, and I remember getting that computer and I thought, I'm gonna make a million dollars just from clicking buttons on this computer, and for like 2 and a half years, I went after it. That's where I started my 6 different businesses. I probably— I think I made around like $100 grand but it wasn't quite my goal. And finally, my brother-in-law told me, buy a Mac. He's like, once you buy a Mac, then you'll make $1 million. And so actually, I bought a Mac and I was like, hey, I'm not buying a new computer until I make at least $1 million off of this Mac. And lo and behold, it wasn't this computer but the previous one. We did like $2.5 to $3 million in sales from like clicking buttons on that computer. And it was a cool way to think about that, like about life. Like there are certain people that just know how to click buttons in a different way than you and money spews out of these machines. It was a pretty cool way to approach college and approach like buying a computer.
