I was a young fund manager, I'd managed a little bit of money, I'd done well, and there's this moment of like doubt and disbelief like, can I actually do this? And I remember I ran my fund and I was giving them returns and stuff but finally we actually sold our fund. We had a competitor come and buy us out. He paid back all the other previous investors too plus their return and I remember like taking checks and giving them to my investors. A handful of investors that were the ones that trusted me when I was 22 years old like brand new, no experience. And I gave them like a massive multi-double-digit return. I gave them these checks and I said like, thank you so much for believing in me. And they said, Bridger, this has been one of the best investments we've ever made. Like, we're with you again and again and again. And that was one of the most fulfilling days of my life was like they had trusted me with money. I had done well with it. I was a good steward and I actually returned that money back to them. Beautiful moment for me. Now it's dovetailed into more and more funds we've done since then.
