Cathie Wood says nine emerging technologies—AI, robotics, energy storage, blockchain, quantum computing, and others—could drive 7% annual GDP growth. A billion new internet users in the next five years could amplify that expansion through cross-pollination between these platforms.

If you don't know who that is, that's Cathie Wood. She runs the ARK Innovation Fund. They manage about $30 billion of capital. Pretty interesting. She mentioned here, we believe we could see a 7% GDP growth rate per year, which is bonkers. Absolutely bonkers. Now she said in there, if you're an economist, you think that's crazy, but if you run the math from previous things, it's not that crazy. The emerging technology platforms right now, she mentioned were these ones: artificial intelligence, robotics, energy storage, blockchain, and multi-omic sequencing. Coupled with that, we also have quantum computing, global fast internet, 3D printing and space travel and more. What's cool about these things is they are cross-pollinating. As AI gets better, robotics gets better. As robotics and AI get better, space travel gets easier and more functional, or global fast internet. We have about a billion new people that are going to have access to the internet in the next 5 years that have never previously had access to the internet. Compounding effects of these things together, it's pretty interesting.
