Raising Capital in 2026 (What ACTUALLY Works)

2026. What actually works for raising capital right now? Uh, so, and why am I qualified to speak on this? Well, so far we've raised $84 million of equity between my 2 active funds right now. Uh, we have a portfolio of over $640 million of AUM. I have launched 5 funds under 3 platforms. We currently manage 17 portfolio funds through Fund Launch Partners. We have hundreds of investors or limited partners. I've done over $47 million of revenue through Fund Launch. We're on the Inc. 5000 of fastest growing companies in America. We just hit Utah Businesses Fast 50 companies as well. Um, I'll also mention in 2026, we have raised over $30 million this year for our fund too. So what I'm going to share today actually is working right now. And this is not credit to me. This is credit to our team. We have an incredible team. of people doing this together. I'm going to talk about how we built a great team, what we've done here, and how we put this together. Okay. Um, this is, I've been featured on the NASDAQ. Uh, we actually went out to a group. They, they, uh, listed on the NASDAQ. I was interviewed by NASDAQ as well. This is me with people like Jordan Peterson, people like, do you guys recognize these people? People like Gary Vaynerchuk. Um, these are, this is me with people like Jim Quick or, uh, Michael Phelps, the Olympic swimmer. It's cool to meet him and get to talk to him for a little bit and be in a private event with him. Me meeting Mike Tyson. What an interesting dude. That was one of the most interesting people I ever met was Mike Tyson. Hanging out with people like Russell Brunson, if you know him, being part of his group. We've done multiple events with Russell and been very involved with his group and his people. I actually spoke on his stage in front of 5,000 people. So yes, I know a thing or two about getting in front of audiences, speaking in front of people, running some things. This is actually us speaking at our own events. So not other people's events. This is actually Funnel Launch Live number 2 in Miami, Florida. You can see our logo right here. We had over just about 2,000 people live in attendance. You can see the longer frame here. So yes, I know a thing or two about getting audiences together. How do we raise capital and do all this? This is actually— we had Ed Mylett come on stage with us and speak. It was pretty fun to have him there. If you know Ed Mylett, this is me meeting Tony Robbins. I was in a small room with him, about 25 people, for about 3 hours. He worked with us. It was amazing. This is actually me meeting Ray Dalio. If you know Ray Dalio, One of the most successful hedge fund managers of all time, $150 billion of AUM, largest hedge fund in the world, has a net worth of $21 billion, wrote these 2 books. Remind me later to tell you about this story of this box right here. I almost got tackled by all of his bodyguards for this box. And I'll tell you in a minute, this is a gift I was trying to give Ray Dalio and it did not turn out well, but we'll come put— we'll put a pin in that. We'll talk about it in a few minutes, but that's a crazy story. Okay. So, I feel qualified to speak on this. However, I also am a college dropout. I did not attend an Ivy League school. I did not work on Wall Street. I live in Utah of all places. I don't live in a financial hub. This is my beautiful family. I have a wife and 2 kids. We have 9 chickens. We live on an acre and a half. We have a little peach orchard. It's awesome. By the way, if you ever want to raise a family, Utah is an amazing place to do it. I love living in Utah, but I was able to do a lot of this without any of these things, okay? This is the first video I ever posted on YouTube in a crappy background with no studio, no following. Today, we have over 400,000 social media followers across all of our social media platforms. You can see we have 138,000 on YouTube from here. So again, but still with those things, we were able to do some cool things with our businesses, right? Raise, and again, this year raised $30 million through Fund Launch. We've launched over 400 funds and syndications. Our people, you guys, clap it up for you guys, manage over $7.1 billion of AUM. So yes, we know a thing or two about raising money and how this works and how to do it, even if you don't have the perfect background. We've also helped other people launch their funds. This is All In Ventures. They've done an incredible, great job. Um, they paid us $30 grand to help them build and design their fund. They launched a $20 million fund one. I believe they're coming out with their fund 2 soon, all doing, uh, venture capital. Um, this is Percy. We, he paid us $25 grand to help him launch his fund. He just closed a 229-unit apartment complex in Oklahoma. He's done very well in real estate. I love this picture of him. I had to put this up here with his cigar and his badge. I think it's an awesome picture of Percy. So kudos to him. Okay. So we're gonna talk about today, we're also gonna talk about building investment funds, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real estate funds. I wanna do some Q&A and work with you guys as well. And, uh, we've done extensively, we've done a lot of these through Fund Launch. We've launched all these different types of funds. And I want to have my goal for today is that you guys should consider launching a fund to get your wheels spinning. We have helped people and you can maybe just take me off this slide so they can see the whole slide here. We've helped people launch multifamily real estate funds, sports gambling funds, commercial real estate funds, short-term rental funds, long-short trading investing funds, African food supply chain funds, forex trading and investing funds, crypto trading and investing funds, real estate lending funds, almond nut farm acquisition funds, debt consolidation loans, seller finance, or doing sub-2 type of funds: startup investing, business acquisition, single-family real estate, software industry roll-up, farming funds, shipping container arbitrage, Canadian funds, venture studio funds, competitor roll-up funds, hard money lending funds, and many, many more. We have helped all of these types of businesses scale with a fund, or just scale— a simpler way to say that is scaling with capital, with outside investors putting capital in to allow a strategy to scale. Okay. Pretty good intro. All right. Let's talk about capital raising in 2026. When raising capital, it is nice to have a pretty logo, CRM, a website, a custom pitch deck, branding and news, an email list. And you can spend lots of money on these things. I have seen people spend $50,000 to $100,000 trying to raise capital on all these things. And they got zero results. It didn't work. I've also seen people with no pedigree go to a bad university or a college dropout like myself, somebody that doesn't even have a logo or their logo sucks. They're nerdy or they have kind of a cold personality. I've seen people that are introverts or not talkative. They're kind of like not the slick-talking salesperson that you would think would be able to raise tons of money. People with no track record as well. And I've seen them raise lots of money. And it's been funny, over the last 7 years, I've ran my own funds, 5 of my own funds. We've again raised $84 million of equity. I've helped our clients launch their own funds, and they've gone out and collectively managed over $7.1 billion. And so the question is, what actually moves the needle? What actually do you need to raise capital? What do you guys think in the chat? What do you actually need to raise capital? Maybe comment down below. Because if it's not those things, then what is it? And I wanted to use an example. Is this okay with you guys? So when I was first starting out, I was getting in this game of capital raising. I had the same questions. I was like, hey, I don't know if I can raise money. I don't have a track record. No one believes in me. I don't know anybody with money. Like, who's going to believe in me? And one of my mentors sat down with me and gave me this example. I call it the Lamborghini in Montana example. This is the exact example he gave me. And so, I'm going to give it to you and follow along. Okay? So, audience, I'm going to give this to you. You don't believe you can raise capital, right? All right. Sounds good. Well, let's imagine there's a Lamborghini in Montana. Okay? It's worth about $300,000. We believe next week we could— this is a Lamborghini Aventador. For sure, we could fire sell this car for $300,000. $300,000 next week. There is a family that has a death in the family. They're doing a trust sale. All the kids are fighting. The lawyers are all fighting. They're like, we got to get rid of this car. We hate this car. It's what our dad used to cheat on our mom with. Like, we're going to sell this car for whatever reason. We're going to sell the car for $100 grand. Okay? And just go with me. Again, we believe it's worth $300 grand. We could sell it next week. For $300 grand. It's in Montana. It's worth— and they'll sell it for $100 grand. You must close Saturday at 2 o'clock with cash in hand. Okay? Here's the— here's my scenario. Audience, person I'm talking to right here, you. Could you find $100,000 by Saturday at 2 o'clock to close on this car? You can't use any of your own money. No. And my mentor asked this to me and I was like, I don't know, man, that's a lot of money, $100 grand. And he's like— and I started to think about it. I was like, wait a second, we're gonna make $200,000 on this if we can buy— if we can do this? And we're 100% certain we could sell it next week for $300 grand? Like, yes. I was like, you know what? I'm in college at the time. Like, dude, I could make $200,000 in a weekend. If I can just come up with $100 grand and maybe I find an investor and we split the returns, right? He gives, he puts $100 in, we make $200 and we split it 100/100. And I started to think about it. I was like, you know what? I bet I could talk to a former boss, a college professor I'm working with, a coworker. I have some friends from high school that made some money. And I started to think about it. I was like, you know what? I probably won't sleep for the next 4 days. I'll be knocking doors. I'll be talking to people, calling phones. But like, I said, you're guaranteeing this, all these numbers? I'm like, yep. Yeah. I said, you know what? I bet I could figure out, I bet I could find $100 grand by Saturday. I'm going to have to claw tooth and nail, but I bet I could figure it out. Anybody in the audience, what do you guys think? This deal's in front of you. We have a buyer next week that'll buy it for $300 grand. We just have to come up with $100K cash by Saturday. What do you guys think? Yes or no in the chat. Could you find $100 grand by Saturday? I finally was like, yeah, you know what? I bet I could do this. I'm going to make a, I'm going to make a profit of $100 grand in college. Like, yeah, I could do this. And then my mentor asked me, well, why? And I said, well, the deal is so good. Like there's $200 grand of gain. These guys are idiots. They're selling this car for so cheap. Like this. And I said, this is obviously a fictional example. There's no way this is real. And he goes, Bridger, you'd be surprised how many deals like this exist right now. And this mentor of mine was managing billions of dollars. Wow. in investment funds. He goes, it doesn't typically happen with a car, but it happens with a business or it happens with a person who's in, you know, needs a loan, a short-term loan. It happens across the market. Some of you guys are in real estate, you know, like you see deals like this in real estate or other places with distressed sellers. They're in bankruptcy, they're in foreclosure, they have to sell assets. And he goes, stuff like this happens all the time. And he goes, 5 minutes ago you were telling me you couldn't raise money, but all of a sudden you're telling me you could raise $100 grand this week. Because the deal was so good. And he goes, that's the secret right there. When you're raising capital, what do you actually need to raise capital? And I pointed out 3 main things. You got to have a fantastic deal, something to invest into. And he goes, when you pitch that Lamborghini example, you don't pitch that you're such a great person. You pitch the deal. You say, guys, Mr. Investor, Mrs. Investor, I have this opportunity. This family will sell this car for $100,000. We have a verified buyer next week that'll buy it for $300,000. We've had a mechanic look at the car. The car is legit. Like, where are we going wrong? We can put the money in escrow. I don't even touch the money. Like, let's just do this deal. You focus on the deal, right? Is that making sense? Now, if you have a good enough deal, you got to structure it. If you notice, I was just off the cuff structuring the deal saying, hey, let's— we'll split the returns 50/50. That's the structure piece. What's the terms, the fundraising, the investor terms are all inside of Fund Launch AI, all built out here. And then finally, if you saw, I thought through what's the network I could go to. So, I started thinking, okay, a former boss, someone I worked for, a coworker, a friend from high school who's made some money, a rich uncle that I haven't talked to in 10 years. Do I have— who do I know? Can I just go knock on doors of rich people in neighborhoods? Do I have friends whose parents are rich? Like, who could I talk to? Deals, structure, and network. Okay? And by the way, money loves speed. Money loves speed. There's an aspect of speed that money seems attracted to. If you can move quickly, if you can take action, when you see a good thing in front of you, you jump on it. Those are traits I've seen of successful capital raisers. So, I take it back to us. You can put me full screen. For $30 million this year we raised, what did we have? We had a great deal. We were launching our investment, our Fund Launch Partners Fund 2. Great deal, great economics. We believe at least it's awesome. The structure of it, we'd already built that out. Use Fund Launch AI and other things to structure our fund, and we had a network. We started to tap into pools of networks, actually, which I want to share right now because you might be wondering, well, Bridger, you know, how would I actually do this? Let's now go— that's kind of the simple example. Let's now go advanced. You guys cool if we go advanced right now? Give me like a yes or a hoorah in the chat. Does that sound fair? Let's go advanced. Okay. So I'll tell you a quick story as I'm pulling this up. I'm going to share my iPad. We're going to do this in real time here. Okay? So let's talk about capital raising. Now, we— so this is, I guess, 2 or 3 years ago, and I'm going to tell the story of Fund Launch Partners. Okay? So Fund Launch Partners. What is Fund Launch Partners? Fund Launch Partners, we had ran Fund Launch. for a number of years, had done very well. And we thought, we have all these great funds that are coming through Fund Launch. What if we actually invested into their funds? We could write them, give them capital, and we would also buy into their fund and help them run their funds. So like Fund Launch was over here where— I don't know where our thing is. Yeah, Fund Launch is over here. Well, I don't know if that's a good visual. Anyways, FundLaunch was producing like hundreds of funds a year. Let's pick the best ones. We'll invest, I don't know, $1 to $3 million into their fund, and we'll buy as well, I don't know, 5 to 15% of their firm, and we'll actually be general partners with them and run their fund with them. We'll bring all of our team and work with them. This is called GP stakes. By the way, we've done this with 17 firms so far. Wow. In Fun Launch Partners, it's actually pretty darn cool. Okay, so this is what we do. We're a GP staking and GP seeding fund. You can see Lincoln, my co-founder there at Fun Launch Partners. He helps run this whole thing. He's awesome. Okay, and our whole team. I'll talk about our team in a second. Okay, so we are we're like let's set this fund up. This would be so cool. Let me go back to this. So, we're like, this is a great idea. We are planning to raise $30 million to do this. This is our fund 1. This is like 3 years ago. Let's raise $30 million. We can do about 20 investments from this. This would be great. So, and by the way, I've ran, before this, I'd ran 2 funds prior. I'd already raised tens of millions of dollars. My other partners had done incredible things. One of my partners managed $5 billion in his fund. Another, I mean, we had some great partners, great team. So, we get together like, let's go capital raise. So, what do we do? Well, we have us and what we found, and you guys already know this, people invest with people that what? They know, like, and trust, right? You probably heard that before. It's pretty like, duh, Bridger, I've heard that before. Well, because it's true. People invest, especially on a first-time fund, with people they know, like, and trust. Like obvious. And so each one of us, me and my partners, we had like, I think there was 4 of us. We all had our little circles of influence of people that knew, liked, and trusted us. So we have our little circle here. And one of our partners, you know, he brought in $500 grand. Another partner brought in, I don't know, $1 million. Another partner brought in, I don't kind of remember. Some money and another partner of people that— and these little circles represent people that know, like, and trust us, that person. Does that make sense? That's kind of what I'm diagramming here. Okay? So we had gone out and done this. Again, it's a fund one. It was a hard time to raise capital. 2020, this is 2023 and '24, valuations were dropping immensely. We got together. We had raised, I think collectively, don't quote me on this number, I think it was $2.8 million, which sounds good, but also we're trying to raise $30 million. Like we were like, eh, like that was bad. And we did webinars. I hopped on social media. I'm talking and sharing, and we collectively raised a whopping $2.8 million, like dismal. My other fund had raised over $24 million actively in the same time period. But for some reason, we could not raise money for this fund. I was like, what are we doing wrong? And we're like the fund people. This is kind of an embarrassing story for me to tell because I'm the fund guy. I'm the guy on social media talking about funds and at events. I'm on stage in front of 2,000 people talking about funds and how great funds are. And how you can start one and how we're so great at it. And we launch our fund. This took us, I think, like a year. In one year, we had raised a whopping $2.8 million and we're trying to raise $30 million, less than 10% of our fund. We're like, crap, this is not good. Okay? One of my partners, Lincoln, kudos to him. He like steps up and he's like, I am going to start figuring out. I'll put him here. He's like, I'm gonna figure out this capital raising thing. Lincoln is not a capital raising person. He didn't hadn't raised capital before. He's like, I'm just gonna figure this out. And so he starts pushing on this. He makes sure our data room, all of our materials are really sharp. Our spreadsheets, how we're running our whole process, very, very sharp. Again, the second one, we started to run a process. We can get into that more in a minute. Timelines. When are we closing? What are our dates? How do we hold people to a timeline? Everyone wants to push things off. How do we actually have a structured timeline? Okay? But the thing I wanted to share was this. We then brought in an advisor, okay? And I'm going to draw a line. This is kind of our fund here. We brought in this advisor. We'll call him Bob. Okay. It's not his name, but I just, we'll keep him private for now. We brought this advisor in. This guy, he was going to be an investor. I think he actually, sorry, he was an investor. He's one of our first investors. And he's like, I love what you're doing. Can I get some more stake in this business? So we gave him a few percentage points and we said, hey, Advisor Bob, just be an advisor, sit in on our meetings with us every once in a while, but can you introduce us to your network of people That know, like, and trust you. Is that making sense? And he's like, sure, yeah, I can do that. Now guess what Bob did though? He introduced us to one person. Ta-da! And you know, he was he was testing us. He's like, yeah, yeah, I'll introduce you. And he gives us one person. We're like, all right. And so, we'll take your one person. So, Lincoln works with this one person, gives us the pitch, gives him the materials. And this is one of the secrets right here is it was incredibly sharp. Lincoln had got our stuff together. It was sharp. It was a good pitch. We respected his time. Like, we followed up on questions. We were responsible with the lead. Advisor Bob had given us. This person reported back to Bob and was like, "Hey, yeah, that Lincoln guy was really sharp. Fund Launch Partners, man, this is a quality firm. You know what I'm thinking about investing." And so what that did, it raised the status of Bob. Bob's like, "Oh, these guys are making my status go up. I'll introduce a few more people." And so then he started introducing us to more people. And Lincoln did the same thing, followed up, was sharp, was on point, and took care of people. We then hosted a dinner and Bob invited, I think, 7 or 10 of his friends. And we got to pitch those friends. We started to raise a little bit of money. And we're like, okay, we got some traction here. And then what happened was this. Advisor Bob, one of these friends he brought in was another guy. Who loved what we were doing. He was going to write a check in. We'll name— we'll call him Bill to keep his name private. And he said, hey, can I have the same, you know, can I be an advisor too? And we said, sure. We talked about it. And he had a big group of people that knew, liked, and trusted him. And he did the same thing, gave us a few tests, and he started introing us to all of his people. So, if you see this little diagram, the circle, our little circle of influence went to another advisor's, which was much bigger, which went to another advisor who had a huge circle of influence. This advisor on his last fund, he was a fund manager, now retired. His last fund, they were trying to raise $750 million. They raised, they didn't raise $750 million. They raised $1.2 billion, and they did it in roughly four weeks. I mean, what a powerful network! Imagine raising $1.2 billion in four weeks on your fund. Now he was like fund four, fund five for them. They had an investor pool, all this stuff. But like he knew how to run a process. And so Bill here, codename Bill. Brought in a bunch of his network to our fund. Our capital raise went from $2.8 million. Remember, our target was $30 million, right? We oversubscribed our fund at $32 million. We then closed our fund. And we did that, that last raise of about $30 million was done, I think, in about 12 weeks. Give or take. We spent a year by ourselves trying to raise $2.8 million. We then brought in some great advisors. Ta-da! We did that. That was Fund 1. Isn't that kind of crazy? That's capital raising 2026. Now, we'll talk with— I want to get to process in a second. We then opened Fund 2 this year. Fund 2 is a $50 million fund. We went to all of these previous investors. We set up a good process, which we'll get to in a minute. And so we held our first close in June. We closed $30 million of $50 on our first close, which is pretty good. Pretty darn good. Okay? Lincoln, this is credit to Lincoln and the team. I don't take credit for this. They did an incredible job on this and really did an excellent job raising capital. And this, again, this is this year, 2026. We are on pace, we believe, to do a final close of $50 million, hopefully end of this year or early next year. Okay? We have some great leads and we're working on them right now. So, we are actively in flight on capital raising. Okay? Is that somewhat useful, by the way? Is that useful of like how to actually do this in 2026? Now, let's go. We're going to go advanced. Okay? I told you I'd give you the advanced stuff. So, let's talk now about process. Let me erase here. Because when you raise capital, so often, if y'all are in the process of raising capital right now and you're using Fund Launch AI, you're building your offering, you're making sure, if I go back to my other slide, which was, well, I won't do it now, but the things that you need, right? You need a great deal, a great structure, And a great network to go out to. Okay? Make sure you got a good deal, and we'll talk about that more in a minute. Let's talk now about structure and process would be a part of that, and Funnel Launch AI helps you with this, and then we'll talk about network. Okay? So process, this is what we did. We learned this from Bill over here who kind of taught us his process of how he did $1.2 billion in 4 weeks. How do you run a process like that? What did you do? Okay. Well, first off, again, have a great deal. I can't overestimate that. Like, have great materials, things put together. Now, let's assume you have that. Let's assume you got something you want to invest into. You got that figured out. Process. Okay. So, what we did, and I'll talk mentality first. The mentality needs to shift from scarcity to abundance. So, not scarcity in— I'm talking your mind, but to abundance, meaning you are the pretty girl at the dance, even though you're like, no one wants to give me money. You have to, in your brain, be like, yo, I have a great deal. Everyone wants to dance with me. I'm the pretty girl at the dance that everyone is hoping to ask out. They all want to take to prom. Like, I'm the pretty girl. Okay? I say that to yourself in the mirror 10 times every morning. I am the pretty girl. Just kidding. But that's the mentality. Like, hey, people want this. This is awesome. They are lucky. To have the opportunity to invest in this thing. Okay? That's how you got to think about it. And again, it's like for us, we had only raised like $2 million after a year and it didn't— we didn't feel like that, but we had to reframe our brain. Okay? What we want to engineer into this, part of this process, we are the pretty girl at the dance. They are lucky to be involved in the process. All of our stuff is put together and we're going to run a process. We're committed to the process. So what is the process? Well, step one, we're going to have preliminary meetings. I'll call it pre-meetings or pre-closing to soft circle. I'll say soft circle dollars and ask for advice. Hey, we're not even raising yet. We're just putting feelers out to see if this is something you'd have an appetite for. And we believe once it opens up, it's going to go quick. But what are your thoughts? What's your advice? By the way, asking for advice is one of the greatest hacks of capital raising. There's an old quote, if you ask for money, you'll generally get advice. If you ask for advice, you'll generally get money. It's also a way to not burn relationships. I'm guessing some of you guys are like, oh, I'm worried about like burning a relationship with a friend. Don't burn relationships. Go ask them for advice. Hey, what do you think? Do you have 10 minutes? I could run this investment by you. We're soft circling dollars right now. We're looking to build new multifamily units in Dallas, Texas. I wanted to run it by you, see what you thought, get some advice from you. People love to give advice. Start getting advice from people. It's a way to soft circle. Okay? So that's step 1. Huge. That's a huge tip. Changed my life. Honestly, changed my life. Just ask people for advice. Hey, what do you think? People love to give advice. It's awesome. Okay? So that's pre-meeting, step 1. Now, if they've signaled interest, they then move to step 2. If they haven't signaled interest, you just keep working on them and keep tweaking and helping out and changing stuff to help get them ready. And if they're not the right fit, they're not the right fit. Okay? Fundraising is often more of a filtering process than it is, you know, like a, I don't know, brute force process. You're filtering down to people that match with what your investment is. Okay? Step number 2, let's say they are filtered. They have signaled they're interested. Okay? So what do we do with those people? Step 2. Now this is where the process begins. This is what we did. Okay? We said, hey, I'll give you the exact dates. I believe this was it. This was earlier this year. March 1st, the data room opens. We are opening the data room March 1st. And what is a data room? A data room is like all of our materials, our pitch deck, our spreadsheets, In-depth investor and bios. There's like ten things we put in there. All of our legal documents are all in there. March first, the data room is opening. We are accepting indications of interests, IOIs. What's this? It's a one-page document that we provide. Non-binding that just says, "Hey, I'm interested." In allocating, you know, X number of dollars. Is this making sense? So what they're going to do, hey, look at the data room. If you're interested in investing, send us back an indication of interest. We believe our fund, and the reason for this, we believe we're going to be oversubscribed. We have a lot of interest. We believe we're going to be oversubscribed. We're the pretty girl at the dance. And so, what we're going to do here is see if we can give you the allocation you request. See how this flips the script? This is beautiful. So, put down what you would like to have allocation size, and we'll see if we can give it to you. Pretty girl at the dance. So, somebody writes down $5 million. This is a true story. On our first fund, we actually said, hey, we can't, we have too much interest. We can't take your $5 million. We can only give you $3.2 million of allocation. Okay? That's the idea of indication of interest. Now, once we have indication of interest, those are all due, and I'll put a little line here, those are due by April 1st. Okay. Or the end of March, those are due. At the end of March, we're going to open up our data room to a more public, and we're a 506, so we can publicly market this. But like, hey, we have a big audience, people outside this. After this, we're going to go to a public opening of the data room, and then we're going to have another close at the end of April. So I'll call it May 1st. Now, if you put your IOI in now, we believe we can guarantee you the full amount. But if you wait till after April 1st, I don't know if we can guarantee you your full amount on your IOI. So put in your indications of interest now. And so, see all the scarcity, the urgency that we put into this? Like, hey, you got to get in. We're the pretty girl at the dance. Anyways, we got IOIs back of, I can't remember, it was like $28 million. So then guess what we did on this? We then went to here and said, hey, we have indications of interest. This is to our outside group now of $28 million. We're only raising $50 million. We're doing a— and we would just anchor a— we're doing a first close of $30 million. And we're doing that close, I think it was like June 29th or something like that is our close. We're almost getting full. If you want to get in, you got to send it in, like, hurry, we're filling up. And so all these people started to send their indication of interest in. And I, I, I, I don't want to say the wrong number. I think we got— I think we got up to about $40 million total of IOIs. We said, great. Uh, and we, we parsed people back. We said, hey, we can— what, what is the allocation amounts we can give you? You know, because we only want $30 million on this first close. We then, then we sent out subscription docs. So they're going to actually subscribe and sign to the fund. Now of that $40 million, you know, some people fall out, some people get busy, some people can't fulfill it anymore. That just always happens. Let me erase this. And so that led us to June 30th or June 29th, We closed on roughly about $30 million on our first close. Okay? Now, you're like, okay, that sounds almost too simple. This process is magical if you stick to it. The alternative, this is what most people do. They don't have a process. They just say, hey, well, I have an investor interested on step 1. Great, Mr. Investor. Great. We're ready for you whenever you want to invest. Here's some documents. Just sign when you're ready. And guess what that investor does? Oh yeah, let me look at it. I'll send it to my legal team. Let me send it to my CPA. And they wait and they wait. What's the update on the fund again? Oh yeah, I forgot. Sorry, we were on vacation last week. Sorry. Oh yeah, we'll get to it. And months go on and months and that person doesn't invest. Your odds drop every day they don't invest. What this process does is gets them in and gets them working. Pre-meetings. Hey, we have a data room opening. If you're on vacation, sorry, we got other people interested. You better look at this, right? When— and maybe if you don't have time to look at it, at least send an indication of interest in so we know that you're serious and we at least can get you an allocation. We might not be able to fit you into this round. And a little bit of this, you are bluffing a little bit sometimes. Because you're just starting out. You might not have anybody. Be like, hey, we have people we think are interested. Send in your indicative interest. The deadline is April 1st. You got to have deadlines. You got to stick to your deadlines. Otherwise, investors will just wait. There's no reason to close. You got to almost manufacture urgency. You have to just set deadlines. And guess what? Why did we pick March 1st? Because we picked March 1st. There was no big reason for March 1st. We just had to pick a date. And so we just decided March 1st, the date. Why did you pick June 30th? Because we had to pick a date. We just picked it. And it was before July, which is hard to raise money. We said, hey, we just got to pick a date and we got to stick to our date. Now, we also did have a deal that was closing. That helps as well. We had a deal closing right around this time period. So it was like, hey, we need to close around June 30th because we have a deal coming up right now. This process is absolute gold. This is how we've gone and raised $30 million this year. This is how we tap into our networks across the board, okay? With Bob and Bill's advisors, people that know, like, and trust you. Once we got talking to them, top of funnel, we then started working on this process to get them going. All right, I'm gonna pause for a second. Is that making sense? What questions do you have? What can I answer in the chat? Now, with business acquisitions, the distinction I would make with a fund, you're going to do multiple deals. With an SPV, you're going to do probably one deal at a time. Both work. This, this capital raising process works for both. Like, yes, this totally works. Yeah. How much percent of the fund do you give to the advisor? I won't share what we did just because that's private. But typically advisors, and you can leave that there if you want, typically advisors are anywhere from between, you know, half a percent all the way up to, you know, 5%, even 10%. You know, it depends on how good the advisor is and what kind of things they're going to do for you. So, it depends on what you're doing. You know, a good starting place is I like a dating period with advisors. So, hey, let's date before we get married. So maybe it's a half percent of your business, but then you say, hey, if you help us in these certain ways, maybe you can earn more and go from there. Pretty cool, yeah? Are we getting an echo? The tax distribution provision provides the fund to make mandatory cash distribution to partners, both LP and GP, sufficient to cover their estimated tax liability on their allocated share of fund income. Now that might be, you're like, I still don't get it. You could say, hey, can you Make this more simple and teach this to me like I'm in 3rd grade. So the— this Fund Launch AI in context of your fund will actually kind of dumb this down, make it a little more simple, and teach you what is a tax distribution policy. All right, here we go. Imagine your fund is a lemonade stand that you run with your friends. I'll zoom in so you guys can see this. Every year, the lemonade stand makes more money, but instead of putting the money into everyone's pockets right away, you save it to buy more lemons and grow the stand. Here's the problem. The government still wants their cut, even if you haven't handed out the money yet. So your investors get a tax bill for the profits they never received in cash. A tax distribution policy says, before we do anything else, we hand everyone just enough to pay their tax bill. Oh, okay. That makes a little more sense. Ta-da! So, you can actually spend time on here and you're like, okay, now I get what tax distribution policies are. Let's look at a tax composite return. Like, what is this? Yeah, we have a number of Funds that we've worked with that do biotech or scientific research for whatever piece it is, and it's I mean really cool. Great way to raise money. They get money in, and we've have we've had a couple groups do incredible. I mean some I don't want to say who they are and what they've done, but man, it's like so exciting. Yeah. I don't know much about acquiring assets, but I'm a math guy. You can even share my screen. I've grown my personal funds 100% over the last. 2 years in the stock market. Can starting a fund around my investment strategy and how do I generate interest in finding edges in the stock market? Um, yeah, so with the stock market, that would be a hedge fund. So hedge funds trade in the stock market. And so you would come to Fund Launch AI, something like this, and you could actually build out your fund. You do a hedge fund, it'll actually walk you through the dependencies of how to build that fund. If you're trading really well and have a great track record, that's how you'd start with a hedge fund. and start building out from there. From the YouTube Live, do you teach how to build a team? Great question. Yes, we have other videos to talk about teams, building teams. Actually, we can talk about that right now though. I think it's a great question. How do you build a team? How do you actually build people around you? So let me share. I'm going to unplug here and switch over to here. Let's talk about building a team. Once it loads up, if you can share this. There are in every fund or every type of business, there's 3 main roles in these funds. Let me grab a drink for a second. So these are the— you can see on your screen here, these are the 3 main roles in a fund. Now I say roles, this could be 1 person, this could be 2 people, This could be 20 people that do all of these roles, but all 3 roles need to be figured out and covered. What are these roles? Well, you've already read ahead here, but this is the person who is the expert investor. They do manage all the investments. What's the, like, what are we actually buying, investing into, lending on? The fund manager, this person manages the operations of the fund. So all the tax, the reporting, the compliance, the legal stuff, Is all here. And then third is the capital raiser, capital markets function. In Ugly Unicorn, in my fund, Bridger, I do this. Oh, I got to make it a little bit smaller here. Bridger does this and Bridger does this. My partner, Dan, who was on Intel's board of advisors, he does, and he's an awesome partner, he does a lot of the expert investing and he does the capital raising. So we both do capital raising together. Bridger does this and Dan does mostly this. That's how we do it. In Fund Launch Partners, we all actually kind of help across the board, but we have a few main partners like Lincoln is right over capital markets. Adam is right over this and Trenton does this. And then me and Mason kind of help out on all these as groups from there. So there's different ways to structure things. Now let's talk about finding partners? Okay. That was the question originally. This is a great question. Let me move this out here. So let's talk about partners. And my favorite analogy, well, I'll give you a real quick sense. I have some incredible partners. Like my one partner, Dan, Dan Young, Intel's board of advisors for 17 years on Intel, the chip company out of Silicon Valley, like Intel, like huge company. Multiple Inc. 500 winner. He's done over $500 million in revenue in his companies. Seasoned entrepreneur. He is twice my age. Why would Dan partner with— at the time, I was— Bridger was 27 years old, you know, had a few good things going on, but why would he partner with me? Well, I mean, I've done some cool stuff. I think I'm a pretty cool guy, but I knew things about funds that Dan didn't know. I was a— I'd ran multiple funds. I would call myself a level 10 entrepreneur in this category right here, maybe 9.5. And he had no clue how that worked, even though Dan was good at this. And good at this. He's like, I don't know how funds run. And this, by the way, if you are young or new in the space, if you can learn about funds and go on Fund Launch AI and just play and learn, you start to attract partners like someone like Dan Young. We ended up partnering. We launched Ugly Unicorn together. We're 50/50 partners still to this day. We raised $10 million our initial launch. And now we've done pretty well as a fund. It's been awesome to run that together. Okay, I like to use this analogy though of dating. You know, usually when you're dating, people always have a scale of like one to ten. You know, the hotness scale. Is he or she like a one or a ten? Right? I think the same thing is true with business. Okay, are you one or a ten? Now, in dating and business, if you're a level 10, if you're a 10, you probably want to date other 10s, right? What's the easiest way to date a 10 is to become a 10. Like, that's the truth. If you want to date a level 10, be a 10. If you're a level 8, you're probably dating level 8s. Right? Now, occasionally, someone who's like a 6 dates a 10, and we make a movie about it because it's so awesome. But in everyday or real-world life, like, people, you know, like, likeness attracts likeness. So, business is the same way. If you want to attract level 10 partners, you got to be a level 10 partner. Now, do you have to be a level 10 in every category? Maybe not. In our scenario, I was a level 10 or maybe close to that in one category. And because I was good at that category, funds, Dan, who was a level 10 entrepreneur in other categories, wanted to partner with me. Does that make sense? So, I would start sharpening your own axe. Start educating, start playing, start working on this. And so, when, you know, the definition of luck is, right, opportunity meets, you know, preparation. Start with your preparation right now. OK? All right, put me full screen. What if I don't have a deadline? Create a deadline. Create a deadline. Most of the time, you won't have a deadline. And by the way, you probably won't have a deadline for anything in life. I mean, you're on this call, you're probably curious about building your own business or launching a business. You can just wait if you want. You could wait till next week or next month or next year and nothing happens. I have a friend, he's been talking about starting a business for, I don't know, 2 and a half years right now. And he loves to, oh yeah, like we're thinking about it and we're going to put some stuff together. And I'm like, dude, it's been almost 3 years. Nothing's happened because there's no deadline. He can always wait. Well, and now we're traveling this weekend. I got a kid's birthday and then the holidays are coming. It's almost Halloween. And then, oh, then it's Thanksgiving. And then, oh my gosh, it's Christmas. And then the year is done. Today's September 10th. That's how many people think. I thought that way for a long time. I was a wantrepreneur for a long time. I was not an entrepreneur. I was a wantrepreneur. I started 6 businesses my first 2 years of college. I love to talk about business. I love to share about it. And finally, something shifted in me where I'm like, I have to be an entrepreneur. I have to just make stuff happen. When I see something good in front of me, I'm just going to go. I'm going to do it today. I'm going to stay up late. I'm going to work on my computer. I'm just going to start solving problems. I'm not going to wait. Too much. You might be sitting right now like, oh, this looks so cool, Bridger. Like, what a cool thing you've talked about. We have Fund Launch AI. It's never been easier to launch a fund. You know what? I'll do it next week though. You know, I'll do that training. I'll do it later. I'll book a call in 3 weeks once I'm back from my trip. And the reality is you won't do it. I won't do it. Like, I had to learn through experience, you have to just do stuff. You have to go all in. I'll share a story. I'll share 2 stories that give the same point. I had an entrepreneur professor in college. He's like, Bridger, when you have an idea on a business, you should go after it for 3 weeks with a $500 budget. I was like, what do you mean? He's like, you gotta set a timeline and a budget. Don't be sitting on ideas for a long period of time. Just go. Do as much as you possibly can do in 3 weeks. And at the end of 3 weeks, then you'll make a decision. And I love the word decision. Decision is Latin-based. It means the, you know, D means to cut and scission or to cut off from. Scission means to cut like incision. You know, like a scalpel, a surgeon makes an incision. Scission means to cut. Decision means to cut off all other possibilities. So, at the end of 3 weeks, you have a decision to make. You're either going to go forward on this thing all in or you're going to cross it off the list. No more of this sitting around thinking about entrepreneurship stuff. And that was one of the moments I shifted from a wantrepreneur to an entrepreneur. And I was like, fine, we'll try it out. We had this idea for a business. We started building it. We spent 3 weeks on it, me and my partner. We went all— we were in school. I still was working, but we're like nights, weekends, every waking moment, we're like, let's just go at this thing. Let's try to get pre-sales. Let's try to get pre-orders. Let's try to get customers. Let's try to get people lined up. Let's have meetings. Let's just try stuff out. At the end of 3 weeks, we had actually found some validation. We then said, let's go after this business. Let's spend this. And then the next decision was, we're gonna do 7 months on this business. We set a timeline and a budget. And that was actually when we launched Fun Launch. That was the business Fun Launch. Our next month, we did around $80,000 in revenue on a break-even funnel. We then launched, we did our official launch. We did about $140,000 of sale on our launch, which was crazy. Our next, our first full year of business, we did about $2.5 million of revenue. That's how, and then Fun Launch, we then next year we did like $4.5 million. I mean, we went up from there and up from there. We then got listed on the Inc. 5000 of fast-growing companies in America. That term changed my whole mindset on what I was doing. Let's do this. I actually want to build a fund live with somebody. I want to pick someone that's in the right stage to build a fund with. Type in the chat while you're doing that. As we're— as you guys are typing out, um, back to, um, this process on capital raising. You know, when you go to process, someone asked like, how do I put deadlines in? Sorry, it's loading in, it's loading in. How do I make deadlines a part of my thing? You create deadlines. Now, a great way to create deadlines is actually having deals lined up and closing dates on those deals. Sometimes your deal pushes the close. It's kind of this chicken and the egg problem. The chicken and the egg is this. You have a deal. Maybe it's a real estate property you're going to buy. Maybe it's, I don't know, an investment you're going to make. If you're trading stocks, it's like, what do I do? It's like, oh, we have this interesting thesis on the market we got to act on. And then you have capital. So, you have investors lined up. And what's funny is to close on the deal, you need capital. But for capital to come in, they want to see the deal. And so, you won't get deals unless you have capital and you won't get capital unless you have deals. So, how do you actually get over this inertia? And a little bit, you kind of have to just start moving. You got to start talking to capital. You're digging a well before you need water and you're starting to work on deals. You're starting to review deals, investment theses, what you're doing. For hedge funds, people in the chat, if you're trading stocks, it's like, okay, we have this thesis in the market. There's this shift. The Fed, you know, the Fed's meeting soon about interest rates. Like, we think we can capitalize on this opportunity at hand. We have midterms coming up. Whatever the thing is, it creates urgency for capital to come in. It's easier on like a, you know, hey, we have a real estate deal. We have to close by October 15th. Or else we lose the deal. So capital, we got to get you involved and vice versa. So you start, you kind of are doing this wheel to get your first deals in the ground and start moving on that. Okay. That's how, that's kind of how you'll start building out and getting momentum. When I look at this closing process, um, when we're talking about capital raising, this is kind of the— this isn't kind of, this is the framework. That we use for capital raising. There are 3 main buckets of capital raising. So there is getting in the room, connecting in the room, and closing the room. You guys go, go book a call. Okay. When we talk about raising capital though, this is kind of top of funnel. How do I get in more rooms with wealthy people? How do I actually get around the people with money? Connect is, hey, I'm around people with money, but how do I get them warmed up to the idea of me managing money for them or them investing in something? It can kind of be hard. And then finally, how do I actually get them across the finish line? Which is what we just talked about a few minutes ago. This is like that whole process I just talked about. And you're trying to engineer, if you've ever read the book Influence, And many marketing books talk about these same principles, the 7 principles of persuasion. Do you have authority on this subject? What's the scarcity and urgency, the timeline of this? How many people are coming? Is there limited spots? Getting commitments, indications of interest, huge. Is there social proof? Who else is joining? Is there reciprocity? I give you a gift, you give me another gift. Liking, do I actually like this person? And is there a community? Hey, we have a bunch of investors in. Our investors, once a year, we play golf together. We go out doing this. Anyways, pretty awesome. Okay, so that's the 7 principles of persuasion that put this together. Okay? Now getting in the room and connecting, we can talk about more in a minute if y'all would like, but getting in more rooms, there's already, I'll say this, There are already wealthy people already hang out together. Wealthy people already hang out together. You don't need to reinvent the wheel. You just need to go where the wealthy people are. So where are they? Well, I kind of put it into 2 buckets. You can work your way into these rooms or you can buy your way into these rooms. So there's like the Ferrari Club of Dallas, Texas. Guess what you have to be at? What you have to own to be in the Ferrari Club? A Ferrari. That's buying your way in. And guess what? Everyone else in the club also owns Ferraris. So pretty cool group to be in. They're already hanging out together. Wealthy people are already together. Box seats at a, you know, an NFL game or an NBA game. Those are wealthy people. They're already hanging out together. Okay, pay to pitch. There are angel groups listed all around the country that you can pay to pitch to be a part of. Pay-to-play networking. Uh, this year we joined a group, I think it was like $130,000 to be in a group of, uh, centimillionaires, meaning you have to have a $100 million net worth or above to join this group. I joined another group, it was $150 grand a year. We joined another group, it was $30 grand a year. These are all paid up You have to buy your way into these rooms 'cause wealthy people are already hanging out. Country clubs, lounges, you name the thing. Now you can work your way into these rooms as well. LinkedIn, wealthy people are on LinkedIn. It just takes a lot of work, okay? Free networking groups, wealthy people sometimes go to those. They just take a lot of work. You gotta work the whole room. Real estate meetups, social media events. These both can work. It just— this takes a little more work. This takes a little more money. Which one do you want to do? Now, I believe you should do both. Do a little bit of both. That's like the magic, okay? Do a little bit of both of these, and, uh, that'll help you actually get the best bang for your buck of getting in more rooms with wealthy people, okay? Um, and then how you connect, we can come back to that later if you'd like. But how do you actually warm people up? I love asking for advice, not money. Uh, bringing people into my deals, getting them on my list. We can talk about more in a minute, um, how to warm people up. Someone asked, is there any females doing this in your program? Yeah, yeah, we have a number of females. We actually have a number of female advisors as well. So let me share my screen. Um, here we go. Hopefully it pulls there.
