Reviewing My Favorite Financial Memes! | Financial Meme Review EP 1

In this informal YouTube episode, host Bridger Pennington (Speaker A) conducts a live meme review, scrolling through his phone to showcase a curated selection of finance‑related internet memes. He reacts to each meme with humor and occasional commentary, highlighting how memes have become a cultural glue during the 2020 crisis. The video covers a range of topics: Wall Street market‑dip jokes featuring Michael Scott, a satirical take on Goldman Sachs analyst burnout, a critique of Dogecoin’s infinite supply versus the US dollar’s backing (taxation and military power), a clip about market rigging and liquidity, and a real‑estate tax‑depreciation meme that lampoons wealthy investors. Throughout, Speaker B interjects with brief remarks. The host repeatedly invites viewers to like, comment, subscribe, and tag him with more memes, positioning the series as a weekly roundup of finance meme culture.

Boom, people! Welcome back to the show. Today, we're gonna actually do a meme review on my phone right now. I'm gonna go through some of my favorite memes of the week, and I have to say, the people behind the memes, these guys are, I would say, borderline genius. I don't know what to say. I feel like memes are keeping America together right now through the 2020 crisis. I literally, like, all I follow on Instagram now is meme accounts because they're Just hilarious. So we're gonna, we're gonna go through some of my favorites. We'll see some good ones, some bad ones. You guys can rate them as well. I'm not gonna put them in any specific order, but there's some good ones we're actually gonna go through today. All right, so first one up is right here. Wall Street memes in my portfolio. Me just buying the dip. Michael Scott. I, I'm a sucker for anything Michael Scott, and I love the caption, no need to thank me. Um, I thought that was just a gem. I just love that picture of Steve Carell, like, a little, little dazed, a little confused. You got the mullet, fanny pack. Like, any meme with, like, that uses that image, I'm in. Isn't that so true though? He's like, yeah, I just bought the dip, bro. Okay, I saw this one this morning. I just pulled it up. It made me laugh just watching it. All right, here it is.
That's when it just clicked in my mind that if you just run through somebody's face, A lot of people ain't gonna be able to take that over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. They're just not gonna want that.
Oh my gosh, I thought that was so funny. Goldman Sachs senior management explains why their investment banking analysts burn out. Bro, just run them over again. And then this comment below. Investment banks, we value our junior bankers and are working on retaining our junior talent. Also investment banks, should you run them over and over and over again? That one got me. Oh man, from 2020, like the— I think one of the best parts of 2020 was the memes. I don't think we got better memes from Donald Trump, coronavirus. Like this one is a gem right here. Wow. I didn't know that. I just, you're telling me now for the first time. His hands at the end when he does this. I didn't know that. Wife asking why all of our money from the bank was transferred to my trading account. Wow. I know that was me. I'm hearing this for the first time. Oh, that's so good. Okay, I love this one. I actually reposted this one from Whiteboard Finance. I think it's been floating around the internet. I would say this is the meme of the day of yesterday. Dogecoin is just made up of money with an infinite supply. Federal Reserve. He's looking around. This one's funny, but it just hits deep. Like, it just hits like, whoa, like, that's— man, everyone's mad at cryptocurrencies. They're mad at— you can just create these little currencies and they don't mean anything. They're not backed by anything. What's the US dollar backed by? Okay, the ability for the US government to collect taxes, which they don't do very well. And number 2, I currently think it's Just the fact that we can drop bombs in other countries and have the strongest military in the world is the only reason the US dollar has any valid. And that's actually, it's pretty good. I mean, that's better than Dogecoin, what backs Dogecoin. But I mean, I love this, the Federal Reserve is kinda looking twice like, oh shoot. And on the note of Dogecoin, I love this one. Well, that was short. From Finance— I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Here it goes. Dogecoin 420, baby. By like noon, it got just thrashed. Just blows up. Boom. Back down. Oh man. All right, this next one's got to be one of my favorite videos ever produced by the fin meme space right here. Liquidity comes in with it. This is past summer when their jobs report was coming out. Fourth of July. Let's go! Do you remember that when that jobs report came out and like I love this. The market is rigged. Boomer hedge fund managers. Dow Jones second wave. Get off me.
Uh.
Stocks don't always go up into the bull zone. Jerome Powell. I can't believe this is a real thing that happened last summer. COVID-19, more jobs.
Boom!
That's the craziest clip. I love that. Out of the office, emails sent. The suits, Robin Hood, Fourth of July rager. Liquidity, thank you for that gem. I, I had to put that in here. That was one of the best videos of last year that was put out. I just— thank you is all I've got to say. Okay, this next one happened last summer during the riots, the protests. Everyone was mad about Trump's tax returns, all that kind of stuff, right? And this one, I had to remember this. This is Stuck with me. This is so funny. Same one we used before from Real Assets. Wealthy real estate investors when they see the public outrage over carrying losses forward to avoid paying taxes. And then the caption, wait till people find out about depreciation. Oh man, this is when Trump was getting just slammed for his tax returns and that he wasn't paying his fair share. And like I was feeling that way. I was like, like, it's like Pretty much any real estate investor's like, oh shoot, like I can't, like wait until these people find out about depreciation, like they're gonna lose their marbles that you can depreciate assets and like real estate's one of the best, like the best ways to reduce your tax liability. And then I love this comment, and cost segregation and 1031s, man. Anyways, I thought this, I still, this one stuck with me for like the past year. About how just true it was, man. Like, people, a lot of people just do not understand taxes and how taxes work and how they're incentives to move money different places. And that one just, just hit good. All right, and the last one I got for you today, this one's— I— this video, I just— anyways, here it is. You can just watch it.
Here you go.
It's so— I can't even— I'm turning it off. It's done. I can't watch anymore. That, anyways, that dude, his face is just dripping in sweat and he's like swinging his belly around. Oh my— All right, well, that concludes this week's version of memes for you guys. Drop, actually, if you want to tag me in some memes you think are funny, we'll probably just start doing this every week. The meme game is unreal online right now. I love it 100%. I'm all over it. And so anyways, thank you guys so much. Comment below, like this video, subscribe.
