Bridger Pennington argues wealth is inherently good, not just a neutral tool. When he spends a million dollars building a house, total wealth rises from one million to two million through voluntary exchange where both sides win. Profit signals these mutually beneficial transactions.

Wealth is good inherently. It is not a tool that can be used for good or for evil. It is inherently a good thing that some people sometimes do use for evil, and here's what I mean by that. When I build a house, I spend a million dollars hiring laborers, buying supplies. At the end, they all have my million dollars, and I have a house worth a million dollars. The net result of this voluntary exchange is now $2 million worth of wealth when before we only had $1 million, which was in my bank account. The result of voluntary exchange is that wealth increases. When wealth increases, that is a result of profit taking place. When profit takes place, it's because both parties are better off because they chose to do it and got something they wanted more for what they wanted less. And as a result, the creation of wealth is inherently good. And the more humanity engages in the creation of wealth, the better off the world will be. Mic drop moment.
