Bunny Young introduces and demonstrates the "Death of a Salesman" program — a short training intended to turn vendors, clients, and community contacts into passionate word-of-mouth salespeople so businesses don't need to hire dedicated sales staff. She announces a short, timed sales challenge (sell three things using the program) with proof required (live video or recording) and monetary incentives. The three items to sell are: a pen (A Better Place consulting pen), one item removed from a participant's car, and one access to the Death of a Salesman course; the challenge must be completed by Friday at midnight.

Happy Monday. I just thought I would hop in here since I know that I don't typically do these lives except for on Wednesdays when we do our live with Bunny. But since I'm not going to be able to join you live, not only am I doing this on a Monday, but I have a really special live for you today that you're not going to want to miss. So first off, Happy Monday. I'm hoping that it's a short Monday. I hope your coffee is strong. I hope you have an awesome coffee cup like I do. So also, we're talking about sales. We know it is not my favorite topic. We know that it is not something that I enjoy talking about. I mean, I can talk about it now, but I had to do a lot of work around this topic and I want to know so that I don't feel totally alone. How do you feel about sales? So, so you can post an emoji, you can post a word. How do you feel about sales? One word. Or just post an emoji on how you feel about sales. And since I'm not going to be able to join you on Wednesday for our normally scheduled Facebook Live, I came up with something and went totally rogue. In fact, I messaged Victoria all the way in London this morning and told her that I went totally rogue. For those of you that don't know, Victoria is the one who spend so much time in this community nurturing and engaging and posting these amazing quotes to make sure that you guys are taken care of when I am not able to be physically in the group. So yay, Victoria. Thank you so much for doing that. Love you. Thanks for letting me go rogue today and as well as being able to kind of make this everything that we've been learning about sales and putting it into practice in a really fun way. So one of the things that came out of all of the work that I did around sales and, and I'm going to remove the graphic. So make sure that you let me know how you feel about sales. Put that quote, put that emoji. I'm removing it. Bye. Okay, so one of the things that I thought I would do after I did all of my own personal work and professional work around sales was be able to put the stuff, the tools that I learned and the psychology background that I have and marry those together into a really simple program so that people didn't understand or think that it was as simple as personality based sales or, you know, create all of these different graphics. And I'll give you the graphics and you just plug in your own text and you're gonna get a million dollars worth of sales. There's so many steps that are before that. Actually, there's not so many, but they're just simple steps before that that'll make every other sales program just make so much more sense. And so I really wanted to be able to put together a program that helped you understand that. And I think we did that and we called it Death of a Salesman. Because the idea was that with this program, you wouldn't have to hire a salesperson, that you would be able to make your vendors, your community, your clients, everybody that knows your business or has contact with your business, a passionate salesperson from word of mouth marketing, and be able to articulate and understand what it is that makes your business different and who you love doing business with. And so that's when we made the program Death of a Salesman. And so I was like, you know, death of a Salesman, it's this great program. It lives on my website. We don't talk about it that much, but really, because we're talking about sales in October, let's talk about Death of a Salesman and why the program so awesome. And then I thought yesterday, you know what, let's do something better than that. Let's show the community what Death of a Salesman is. And so what I did was I called up one of the past participants of Death of a salesman, Dr. Jessica Norris. And I gave her a sales challenge. And so we have a couple rules regarding the sales challenge that I'm going to show you here. So I said, we are going to sell three things. We are going to sell using the Death of a Salesman approach. We are going to sell a pen in a better place, consulting pen. We are going to sell one item from our car, anything from our car, which this should be really interesting because Dr. Jess and I both have kids, so this could be really interesting. And the other thing that we're going to sell is a Death of a Salesman course, one course to one individual. We're going to sell them access to that course, and we're going to do all of this by Friday at midnight. Now, to keep us both honest, we are pledging to use the Death of a Salesman approach, right? We can do this online, we can do this in person. We can do it however we're going to do it. But we also must have proof. So if Jess hops on and does a live video in the difference makers community, she's going to be showing you how exactly the steps that she's using through Death of a Salesman to sell her three items. So it's such a treat for you guys. Or she'll take a video of it and post it. Me too. I will let you guys know how I'm doing. I will post videos or go live and take you through all of the steps. And we even opened it up to one volunteer who has not been through the Death of a Salesman program to see how you do it, because we want to bring you some other approaches to be able to do it. So if you want to volunteer and you want to be engaged for the Death of a Salesman challenge, let me know. Now, if you sell just the pen, you get 50 bucks. If you sell the pen and something from your car, you get a hundred bucks. If you sell the pen and something from your car and the course, all three items, you get three, $300 and a $50 donation to your favorite nonprofit. So that is the rules. Those are the approach. And I thank you guys for making the world a better place. Let me know if you need the A Better Place consulting pen. And good luck on your challenge. Let's see how it goes. See you a little bit later.
