How to find more balance in life (Start being more happy TODAY!)

This is a short instructional YouTube video (creator: Bunny Young) in which Bonnie, a retired therapist, teaches a simple method for finding more balance using the "wheel of life" exercise. Viewers are guided to draw a circle, mark 0 (center) to 10 (edge) for multiple life areas (mental, physical, social, family, emotional, spiritual, work), visualize an uneven "wheel," then pick one area to improve by listing consistent activities. Practical rules: pick one small action per area each week (add a second if a discrepancy is large), and use time-saving tools (linked) to free capacity for balance. The video ends with a prompt to comment for accountability.

Are you feeling a little bit overwhelmed and maybe not quite sure what balance really looks like in this day and age? You're not alone. Most of the world is feeling that way. And I can tell you that as a retired therapist, there's a lot of information right now about how to find more balance in your life, and most of it isn't very good. So in this video, I'm going to show you the exact steps about how to find more balance in your life. And it's not going to be some sugar coated A to Z type format. It's going to be designed specifically for you. So you can take any or all of the information and apply it to your life in just a few minutes. Are you ready? Let's get started. All right, so I want you to imagine we're going to keep this super simple and dive right into the content. So go ahead, get a pen and maybe a piece of paper. Go ahead and draw a circle. I'm going to do my best to draw this circle. Okay? And at the center of the circle you're just gonna put a dot and that's gonna represent zero. The outside of the circle is gonna represent 10. Now I want you to think about one area of your life. Let's think about your mental health starting at zero on a scale of one to 10, how are you doing in your mental health? And draw a line. If it's a 5, halfway out to 10. Now let's pick another area, let's call it your physical health. Do the same thing. And if that's a six, then it's going to go a little bit farther than mental health. Okay, how about another area of your life, social life? Go ahead, same thing, start at zero. Maybe that's a seven, maybe it's a four. We're not here to judge. This is completely for awareness. And you're going to keep doing this with your areas of life like family, emotional health, spiritual health. Maybe it's your work and how you're feeling on a scale of 0 to 10. And when you're done, you should have a pretty funky looking wheel. And most of you know this as the wheel of life. And if you've never done this exercise before, it's a really good exercise just to kind of check in. And why I love this exercise. Specifically when we're talking about how to find balance in our life, you can see from your wheels like you're not really rolling on all tens. At least most people are. And I've had a client say, well, what if I'm at all twos. I'm balanced. That is correct. And if you want to live an all two life, I completely support that if that makes you happy. Most people would like to have their wheel of life more around eight, nines and tens. This gives you a really clear picture of how and where in your life that you can find some more balance. Pretty simple, huh? Great. Now the second part of this is to take those areas and pick one. Maybe it's the area that you have the least. Maybe it's a four or a three. Maybe it's physical health and pick a couple of activities. I want you to write physical health on your sheet of paper and then list some activities that you want to do and consistently implement in your life in order to raise that score. And then you can do this for each and every area. Even if you have an area that's a 10, it's really great to list those things that you're doing consistently that allow you to feel really confident in that 10. And as you're making your week, just pick one thing, one thing from each area of life. If there's a huge discrepancy, maybe a four in one area and a nine in another. Maybe you pick two things from the area that's a four and that magically helps grow that line a little bit. It really is this simple. Balance is not about tens all around. Balance is about just getting things a little bit more balanced. And it is pretty simple. The first step really is that clarity and awareness. Without that clarity and awareness, it's really hard to know where to even start. So hopefully with your wheel of life and your list of activities, you know exactly, or at least some parts that you can get started with right now. I'd love to know what areas and what activities that you're committed to. And if you want additional accountability, go ahead and leave me a message in the comments. I read each and every one of them and also I put a little link down there for proven entrepreneur time savers. And if you're looking or thinking, Bonnie, I don't have time to implement anything else into my very unbalanced life. Well, the first step of how to find a balanced life or how to create and have a balanced life is to take back some of that time. And at least one of those entrepreneur time savers, I guarantee is going to save you a little bit more time. So you have the capacity and the space in your life to live a more balanced life. So grab that link below and I'll see you in the next video. Thanks for making the world a better place.
