So you may notice that it is Wednesday when we're recording this live. And I wanted to tell you guys a little bit about why I am here and not on my vacation with my family. And it sucks, but it's kind of serendipitous that the fact that, you know, January was prioritize you month or is prioritize you month on the start Starfish emails that we're sending out. And it's really important as a business owner to prioritize you. And you saw on the live with bunny sticker, it says even when it sucks. Well, it should say sucks, but it says sucks, so we're just gonna go with that. So have you ever had a time where you had to prioritize you and it meant that you missed out on something that you were really looking forward to? And let me know in the comments if you res. If this resonates with you. I'm going to turn the comments on so I can see. That'd be awesome. So last week, my, you know, my entire family was supposed to go to California for my best friend's baby shower, and we were gonna go to Disney and do all this really fun stuff and had a bunch of meetings set up with family and all of that kind of stuff. And from last Tuesday to last night, four of my family members, one had surgery, one got a stomach issue, one got an ear infection, and one got the flu. And it was just, hey, Dwayne. It was just like one after another after another. And then I, Because I had heart surgery, I started to have pain again. And it's like a month later, but I started to have pain again. And so I had to, like, in my entrepreneurial brain, I'm being honest with you, I'm like, I can fix this. Like, it's fine. Like, I, you know, gave my daughter antibiotics, and, you know, I got the. I thought I had the dog taken care of, you know, got boarding, all of this kind of stuff. And then it just kept coming, and it was like the wheels fell off the bus. And I finally had to take a big step back and be like, all right, like, this is not meant to be. As much as that sucks. As much as I really wanted to be at Disney and have this time with my family, like, this is not meant to be. So it made me be able to be here to do our Facebook Live today. But also, I wanted to share with you a couple things like that the experience kind of real reminded me of and that hopefully this helps you. So as an entrepreneur, as a human being, Putting you first is always going to be the best option, right? It's not selfish. It's just. Just going to be the best option so that you can be the best for your community, for your clients, for your business, everything. And then be honest with how much is actually on your plate. You know, like the, the reality is, is like a trip to California, a cross country trip with a dog, two kids and all of that family member is a lot when I'm a month out of, you know, surgery. So that, that honesty was really important to be able to, to kind of say out loud and speak out loud, like this is a lot and it's okay that it's not going to work out for right now. And then stress, sickness, sadness, shortness, which can be like loss of patience, that kind of stuff. Losing sleep, these are all signs that you are headed towards burnout and that you need to slow down and that things are not working out. You know, the, the one of these is a sign. But five, six, seven of these is definitely a sign. You know, we had sickness going through the house. I feel good, knock on wood. But I was definitely losing sleep, taking care of the kids. I've definitely have a little bit less patience because a, I don't like change. Thanks, Dwayne. I appreciate that Dwayne said, sending prayers for healing and hate. Can't chill with your family. So thank you, Dwayne. I appreciate that. And you know, but I definitely have lost a lot of patience in the past week because I don't like change. And then also I'm bummed out because I kind of knew that this was the reality. I just didn't really want to face it and then surround yourself with others who support your decision. So. And support you. Like, I called my best friend and I said, hey, I can't make it to your baby shower. You know, my daughter's sick, my dad's sick. Like, you know, let's figure I'm really, really sorry about this. And she was like, you know, we'll reschedule, we'll totally do this another time. And it was great that she was super supportive of that. My parents were super supportive of that. Nobody really gave me a hard time. My uncle did a little bit. He said he was disappointed, which wasn't very helpful. But at the same time, you know, I get it. I know he's disappointed, but we'll have a better time next time we come out because everybody will be there and be present and we can have a little bit better plan together. And the last thing is really know this is temporary, but you are permanent. So this frustration, prioritizing yourself, taking the day off for you, taking the week off for you, whatever it is that you need to do that's temporary, like canceling those appointments that you have is temporary, but you're permanent. Like this state is permanent. And so really think about that right now. And I know it's the flu season, I know it's the cold season right now. I'm recording this in January. And so make sure that, that you're taking some time to prioritize yourself, prioritize your goals, prioritize, you know, the things that you need to be focused on, and just let go of everything else. And that's really the recipe for how to do this. It's simple. It's not easy, but it's simple. And I just wanted to be honest, that I think sucks right now, but in the long run, to be able to sit here and share with you that not only am I talking about it, but I also am walking my walk and doing what I practicing what I preach. So thank you guys for making the world a better place. Remember to sign up for the starfish stories through bunnyyoung.com or better place consulting.com because those come out the day before that we do these videos. And so it's a nice little compliment to put those tools together and that's where to get the most information. And if you haven't, check out the new Starfish or Star wars blog that came out on the website this just this morning. I can put the link for that in the comments. So I'll talk to you guys soon. Thanks for making the world a better place. See you real soon.
