Life is stressful, but you already knew that. So what if in just 20 seconds you could dramatically decrease your anxiety and stress levels? Would you want to know how? So this simple two part equation comes from two of my life experiences. So the first is being a therapist. And the thing about being a therapist is we know that anxiety is just confused energy. And what I mean by that is that it's energy that doesn't yet know where to go. Anxiety isn't actually good or bad, it's just confused energy. Now the second part comes from my experience as a model. And so when I was a model, I had a nutritionist tell me that most people do not correctly digest their food, or at least they don't correctly start the digestion process, because the digestion process actually starts in our mouths and most people do not take the time to properly chew their food in order to start the digestion process. What does that actually mean? So the nutritionist told me to chew my food for between 17 and 20 chews or seconds. What? Who actually does that? I mean, think about it. I'm not even sure that I chew my gum for 20 seconds straight. And I'm not about to tell you whether or not I'm gonna confess to swallowing my gum or not. So what, if anything, does this have to do with my anxiety? Great question. Other non existent part of this conversation. So if we take that experience as a model and experience as a therapist and we put them together for the sake of this video to help you with your anxiety, what we get is that if you just take one thought and only one thought and focus on that for 20 seconds, then you're directing all of your energy to that one thought rather than scattering it across all of these different thoughts and different possibilities and opportunities in your life. And that's going to decrease your overall anxiety. And because a lot of anxiety comes from not really knowing where to focus or where to put our energy. When we focus with that one thought instead of moving off of it because we're not quite sure what to do with it, there's really two possibilities, two big possibilities, and then I would say like a subcategory for one of them. So the thought, the situation is either one of two possibilities, something you can do something about, or something that you can't do something about. So if the thought or the situation is something that you can't actually do anything about, let it go. And we've got a video about that just for you in this video. The second possibility is that you can do something about it. So that I said that there's going to be a subset and those two subsets are pretty simple. One, you do something about it. Two, you don't do something about it. And this is where I would love to have a little flow chart and be able to show you. If you can't do something about it, let it go. There's really just two possibilities with every single thought. You either do something about it or you let that thought go. Either because you can't control it or you've chosen not to do something about it. So that is in 20 seconds in this short little video. You can play it as many times as you need. It is a simple, simple tip or trick. However, it is not necessarily easy and I want to know in the comments, if you pause this video or right after this video, take one thought and think about it for that 17 to 20 seconds and let me know in the comments how it works for you. I'm also going to put a couple more videos up here just for you and your mental health and emotional well being. I would love to hear from you in the comments. I'd love for you to subscribe. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you for making the world a better place and I will see you in the next video.
