Secret weapon to combat burnout and increase productivity (That can INSTANTLY impact your success)

A short YouTube video by Bunny Young about the healing power of sound and how intentionally using sound (or silence) can reduce burnout, improve focus, and increase wellbeing. The speaker leads a brief guided listening exercise at the beach, explains how certain sounds trigger memories or states (e.g., waves = calm, trap music = partying), contrasts helpful vs. anxiety-inducing sounds, and gives three practical resources: a white-noise machine, the Headspace app (with sleep/focus playlists), and curated playlists on Spotify/Amazon Music. The video closes with a call-to-action to subscribe and share sounds that help viewers.

All right, difference makers, you don't want to miss out on this, because not only am I at a secret location to share this video with you, but I'm also going to share with you a not so secret, simple hack that is going to lead to so much more sanity, productivity, and overall wellness in your life. And it's so simple. And then at the end of the video, I'm also going to share with you the exact resource that I use to make sure that every single day I'm able to take full advantage of this simple little hack.
Care.
Wait to share it with you.
Here we are, the beach. So, as I told you, one of my favorite places. But I just want to take four or five breaths and just listen and let me know all the things that you can hear. Let's take two more breaths. In through the nose and out through the mouth. So there's so many different things that you can hear the waves crashing. Maybe you were even lucky enough to see some of these dolphins that are out here enjoying the day. Maybe you hear the construction that's going on behind us, or maybe you heard the jet engines. All of these sounds bring up connections in our mind for us and bring us to a place, memory of thought. And it's why even hearing a song can bring you back to a certain place. But oftentimes, this is the place that I come because the sound of the waves crashing takes me back to my childhood and to growing up in surfing in Southern California. And so all the other distractions, the car driving by, the lifeguard, the jets flying overhead, the construction, I can just focus in on that healing sound of the waves crashing. And that's healing for me. That is grounding. And being here and hearing it in person is really what makes the biggest impact for me. So now I want to what some of your sounds are that you go to and remember that initially what I was going to do with this video was just talk about music and just talk about the healing power of music. But it's actually the healing power of sound because these waves could definitely be music to some people. I mean, being able to just sit here and listen to nature sounds. This is why so many sleep tracks have to do with just listening to ocean noise and ocean waves. And for me, as I said, this brings me back to my childhood, and this brings me back to where I grew up and the safety of my home. But it also gives me a sense of calm, it gives me a sense of energy, it gives me a sense of renewal in knowing that no matter how Gnarly. That wave is there's going to be another one afterwards if I miss that wave. There are just so many things that go through my mind when I hear the sound of the wave, and a lot of it is actually subconscious. I'm not thinking all of these things, but just my brain connects the sound of the waves to the all. All of these different positive aspects in my mind. And so if I'm going to try to study and I'm trying to listen to trap music, that for me won't work, because trap music brings out another connection in my brain to dancing and partying and having fun. And so when I'm settling in to study, I tend to go towards classical music and I actually tend towards. Or it's listening to the same soundtrack over and over and over again. And that trick is because psychologically, I'm tricking my brain into thinking that it's time to focus. And so it's kind of along the lines of why some people eat the same food for lunch every day or wear the same shirt or same style of shirt and jeans every single day. And it's because the less thought that you can actually put into it, the more that our subconscious mind just released to make better decisions or focus on, oh, yeah, I know when I put on this shirt, it's my power shirt. Or when I put on this shirt, it's the shirt that I do my presentations in. Or when I put on this shirt, it's time to go to bed. That's why we change into jammies. That's why we have a bedtime routine. But what are those sounds? I really want to focus for the purpose of this episode on what are the sounds, Sounds that are either helping you through this time or the sounds that are actually adding to anxiety. For me, I love my children, but that screaming, that whining, that, you know, temper tantrums, those are the sounds that, for my sanity, I will take a walk outside or I'll ask my girls to go for a walk with me so that we just have a moment of different sound and peace. When a TV show starts, it's so important that they have that music, whether it's NCIS or CSI or whatever it is, you know that music. And anybody who has then turned on the radio and heard the who pretty much immediately goes back to that TV show. If you've ever watched a film, and this is an interesting exercise for you to google, but if you've ever watched a horror film or society film without the soundtrack, that's behind it, with all of that music. That music is designed to create a certain level of anticipation and a certain feeling. And so being able to have it without that sound has a whole different impact. Those dog that are jingling that sound, it makes me happy because I know that slobbery goobery Sandy man is right here with me, supporting me as in his service dog duties. And those jets flying overhead don't disrupt me the way that they probably might disrupt other individuals. Because I for me and I posted this on my Instagram stories a couple days ago. It sounds like freedom. So what are your sounds that you need to be including every single day in order to create more alignment, more well being and more healing? And the other part of it is is that lack of sound and sound deprivation, whether it's in like a float tank or whether you're wearing noise canceling headphones, that can also be healing. So silence can be as healing as sounds. And so just some stuff to think about. I'd love to know in the comments what your sounds are that are healing for you. And I will take you back to finish this off and give you a little bit of homework. But I also want to share with you some places that I go to for sounds when I not able come out here to this whole scene and we'll take in all of this. So let's just close this off and take three more deep breaths with what you can hear here, in through the nose and out through the mouth. And other than the sound of my voice, what can you hear? Alright, well let's head to a new location and finish off the healing abilities of sounds in that discussion as well as some resources for you to find some more places that you can find sounds for healing and playlists that are pre created for you. And I also want to know in the comments what sounds you enjoy that are the equivalent to my waves crashing. I'll see you soon. All right, you ready to head back? You know what to do.
Alright, so we're back and as promised, I'm going to share with you a couple resources that I use for my sound healing. One of those is a white noise machine in my office and if you have one of those home devices that I won't say the name of out loud so it doesn't turn it on, you can actually ask it to play white noise for you and it will. The second is an app that I use for meditation called Headspace, but it also has sleep sounds and it also has a playlist from John Legend on Focus and another playlist for different kinds of things. Just that's already scientifically compilated. That's a word, right? Music that will help you for whatever you need to get done, whether it's studying, whether it's energizing, all of those kinds of things. And then the third is that if you have something like Spotify or Amazon Music, they have pre curated music lists for workout and all of those kinds of things. So I wanted to keep it super short. Those are mine. And I'm going to put a link to all of those in the description of this video.
So.
All right, let's head back.
