Hey guys. Welcome back. So this is part two of our review of the new film the Social Dilemma. And if you missed my part one, which was actually the review, this is going to be a follow up which will have three things that will be my recommendations on what to do with the information that the film provided. Before you get too scared, stick with me through this video because we're going to talk about not just the good and the bad, but I'm also going to give you, from the therapist perspective three things that you can do for your sanity and that you can do with your kiddos that will help. If you find that you're using your cell phone a lot or that you're having somewhat of addictive behaviors or exhibiting addictive behaviors, I am going to say that I am not practicing psychology or counseling through this video. I'm just giving you subject matter expertise that I have. So here are my three tips inspired from the film the Social Dilemma on how to reprogram your behavior and your relationship with your phone and with your digital devices. So number one is to turn off all of your notifications. There's actually a thing now in the psychological world and in the medical world that's phantom vibrations where you think you feel your phone vibrating, but it's really not. So turn off all of your notifications on your phone. In fact, when you're sleeping, just put your phone in airplane mode. If your kids are home and if your loved ones are all under one roof, you don't really need your phone to be having your notifications on or off. And for those of you who are saying, well, I use it as an alarm clock, go back and watch. I already said they make something called an alarm clock. So the second is that, and this is the biggest one, so I really want you to pay attention is document, journal, meditate on your relationship with yourself. Because after decades worth of modeling, I was used to other people telling me how I was and who I was and based on how I looked, based on what clothes I fit in, based on, you know, that particular designer, that particular photo shoot, all of those kinds of things. And at the end of the day, I started to believe them more than me. And it wasn't until I was in my late 20s where I really figured out what my relationship was with myself was and how powerful that is and continues to be. And that's where I found my true value. It wasn't in likes, it wasn't engagement, it wasn't in comments. Although I love hearing your comments and I love when you comment on these videos and let me know what you found valuable because that helps me in turn add more value and other videos. As much as I love you, I'm not gonna not sleep at night because you didn't comment on this video. I will be happy to get up in the morning and at some time later on in the day see your comment. It will make me smile and I apply to it, but it's not going to make me feel any more or any less valuable. I'm a valuable human being and so are you and my last one is to open your mind and have a conversation with somebody that doesn't look like you. One of the things that these algorithms with social media tend to do is to put like people with like people. If I think about my relationship with my best friend, they are like me in so many ways, but they don't look like me, they don't have the same religion as me, they don't have the same dog as me. And our relationship has opened my mind, it's opened my heart, it's given me opportunities and experiences and lessons that I otherwise would not have had. And no Google search ever would have been able to provide me with that opportunity. So go. I encourage you to have conversations, a lot of conversations, with individuals who are not like yourself, who don't think the same way and be open minded about that conversation. Thank you for making the world a better place.
