Anxiety can be a really lonely thing, can't it? Yeah.
Let's get it out there because everyone has felt at some point anxious. Everyone in this room, everyone out there. Let's stop hiding from it because anxiety is a good thing.
I'd like you all to give a warm welcome to Caroline Cavanagh.
Thank you. Now, what's your stress score? Has it gone down? Yeah? That took probably no more than about 90 seconds, and you've just reduced your stress. Because what you did for that very short period of time was tune into you.
And I thought it was fantastic. I learnt a lot. I thought she was really an incredibly engaging presenter.
But if every single one of you in this room does one of them, you can genuinely create a change in this organization. One of the basic rules of physics is that every action has a reaction. By you changing what you do, it has a reaction on other people, and it's what I call the ripple effect. It just keeps going on. So I don't know how many people in this room— 70-ish, something like that? Yes. 70 people making a change in how they behave is going to create not just a ripple but a flipping great tidal wave. But the more you do— this is all about you. You make your life better, but the wonderful thing is by you being less stressed, happier, more content, it ripples out and touches other people too. It's not selfish to look after yourself.
But I've come away with a better understanding of me and my own coping strategies and been given a wealth of ideas of other ways of looking after myself as well as the other people around me as well.
You have a new level of control, and where control is, anxiety has no place to live. You literally can't feel those 2 things at the same time.
So a chair is you sit on it. Hang on. All right, can't sit on it.
All right, this is gonna be a bit of fun now. We have universal beliefs. These are very broad generalisations, so if you want to say the answers to this out loud, Go for it. Men are all— Come on, girls, come on, what are you gonna say?
Caroline's helping, helping reduce stress levels at work and getting people out of the office just for an hour and listening to helpful advice that she has to offer.
We can all as individuals make a massive difference in the world. Your world is your reality. Make it a good one.
