This is a YouTube video titled "Diary of a Hypnotherapist, Episode 6 | Reflections on Nature | @caroline-cavanagh" (created 2025-09-12T10:00:53Z). It is a single-speaker monologue by Caroline Cavanagh, recorded on a glacier in Canada, presenting a weekly reflection. She uses nature metaphors — a glacier cutting through rock, the glacier's slow movement (2–3 cm/day), and forest regrowth after fire — to discuss perseverance, gradual progress, anxiety, and growth following traumatic events, and closes with a brief farewell.

So, the Diary of a Hypnotherapist is a little bit different today, on the basis you can hardly see me, but behind me is a glacier because I'm in Canada. And of course there hasn't been any clients to report on this week, but still a lot to reflect on. And the first thing on this glacier, which actually I was standing on less than an hour ago, is that It doesn't matter what's in your way, you can get through it. That water has cut itself through rock and continues to do so, and we can learn so much from nature. So that's the first thing that I reflect on and will take away. The second thing is that whilst it looks as if it's not moving, it is. It's shifting 2 to 3 centimeters A day. And anxiety can often feel as if it keeps us still, but when you keep moving and you're always going forward, you will always get to where you want to be. And the third thing I'm going to reflect on this week is coming up to these mountains. We came through forests that last year were devastated by fire. And at the time, I'm sure for the people close by, for the animals, it would have been terrifying. But the reality is the forest needed that fire because behind the fire there's new growth, new opportunities for trees to come through that otherwise wouldn't have made it. And that for me is another great message in nature, is even the things that cause causes terror at a time, beyond it there's growth, there's positive things that happen. And I'm sure if you reflect on things that have terrified you in the past, but the other side of it, there was something positive that you could take out of it. So that's my Diary of a Hypnotherapist for this week. You can maybe see me at some point under this hair, and, uh, next week hopefully it will be a little bit sunnier. But bye for now, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
