Hi, I'm Wali Rahman.
I'm an Organisational Development Officer at Wiltshire Council. So we've just had a wonderful talk from Caroline Cavanagh called Stress, It's All in the Mind and Your Body Is a Messenger. This was a session that we organised for council staff, and we had almost 100 people giving up their lunchtimes to come and listen to Caroline. And I think everybody took away lots from Caroline's talk and hopefully will go away feeling more energised and more productive and less stressed. So there are lots of tips that Caroline left us with. And yeah, so hopefully it would be of great benefit to our staff. Told us all to close our eyes and we did a mindfulness exercise, and it was really useful in getting in touch with things that you wouldn't normally appreciate. So when you close your eyes and focus on Things such as your heartbeat and the noise around you, and you focus on the here and now, and that really helps to reduce stress levels. So I think most people really benefited from that exercise. So I took away lots of useful tips from the talk that I think will definitely help me in my personal and professional life. So things such as mindfulness, the attitude of gratitude, being grateful for what's going right. So many times, you know, there are things going wrong, but we forget that there's always something to be grateful for. So Caroline also talked about the law of attraction and that you attract positivity or negativity depending on how you carry yourself. So that was really useful to think about. And also random acts of kindness. So whenever you do something good for other people, how it feels really good. And that in itself is a real boost for the self. I also took away tips about nutrition and hydration and sleep and how important those things are. reducing stress levels and fighting off depression and anxiety. So I think I'll be focusing on those things for myself as well in the future. I would definitely recommend people to come and listen to Caroline talk if they get the opportunity to. Also, I think businesses could really use Caroline's help in helping reduce stress levels at work. and getting people out of the office just for an hour and listening to the helpful advice that she has to offer. I would also highly recommend if anyone's going through any stress or anxiety or any mental health issues, just get in touch with Caroline, whether it's for yourself or your friends or relatives. Then I think Caroline's definitely got the skills and the knowledge to help you through that, and you could benefit a lot from her.
