A short conversational transcript excerpt from a YouTube video in which Dom Faussette and Catherine Bell discuss beginning presentations with purpose. They focus on speaker presence and how arrogance or speaking at rather than to an audience causes listeners to 'check out' and lose engagement.

Let's talk about beginning with purpose in mind. For those of you. Let me ask you, Kathryn, when you're attending an event and an individual, usually as a dude that gets presented on stage, welcome to the stage Dom Fawcett. And the guy says, hey, I'm Dom Fawcett. Do you. Do you tune him out?
Do I tune Dom Fawcett?
Well, not me. Nobody tunes me out. But don't change the station. I heard. I see what you're doing. I can't. It's radio. But like when a person gets on stage, you've seen a guy get on stage and, and immediately all this arrogance just, just comes out. Yes, yes. And that turns you off, right?
I. I watch the audience check out for sure. And I am very present too, when a speaker has captured the attention of the entire room and has the listening of the room and speaks into the listening and speaks to the people versus at the people. Like the whole audience just gets that glazed over look and checks out.
