Being a contribution in the world!

Catherine Bell runs a Girl Scouts cookie operation that moves $750,000 worth of inventory through a garage warehouse each year. The program teaches girls business skills like accounting and B2B relationships. Bell credits COVID-era remote work for giving her time to volunteer and encourages others to share their own community contributions.

Hey, everyone, it's Katherine with Titan Impact Group here and just wanted to share a little bit about what Titan Impact Group is actually up to today. As you can see, I have a giant wall of cookies. Actually, this is our garage. And talking about why we do what we do, one of the things I love to teach is how to do the numbers. Numbers tell you what to do, and that's a piece that I love to contribute to the Girl Scouts. We've been invol and Girl Scouts for well over 10 years now, and I do love what it teaches the girls and it gives us an opportunity to give back. And social media gives us a little opportunity to peek into our lives and what we're up to. So other than work, we actually do do a lot of volunteering and it's our way to give back. I believe that people inherently really want to make a difference in the world. And so finding a place to be that and be a contribution is. I feel that it's incredibly important. So it's something that I practice what I preach with our twins and we make it happen. And so this is one of the ways that we contribute. We turn our garage every year for about three months into a cookie warehouse. And what it does is we've set it up so that the girls get to come in and volunteer and learn this part of the business. So I remind all the moms, this is girl Scouts, not mom Scouts, scrapbook. So this is like for when the girls get older and they're still selling cookies, but obviously not as much as they did when they were little, but they get to learn this aspect of the cookie business, which is the business to business relationship. And then of course, inventory distribution. So this is the next layer for these girls to, like, understand the impact that they're actually making. So each year we manage about 3/4 of a million dollars of cookies go through here. So that's a lot of fun. And the girls get to manage all of that and really be a part of making it happen for our entire neighborhood. So what happens is as the troops run out of cookies, they come to our garage and they get filled back up here and go out there and keep selling. So I absolutely love this. I love the community that it builds. We have a lot of volunteers that are coming making this happen. If it wasn't for our volunteers, there's no way I could have made this happen. It's having that sense of community and just that spirit of loving and contribution. I mean, it really is extraordinary. So for my encouragement for you today, is for you to find somewhere that you get to be a contribution to the world. I know that you want to make a difference, and making a difference really does make a difference in the world and in our hearts. And so it gives me a place to be grateful for. And you could be grateful too. So I'd love to hear where you volunteer and what lights you up inside of the difference that you're making inside of the world. That's what we're here for. Let's make a difference. So I request that you, like, share, comment and make sure you click and like our page as well so you can see what's going on as we continue to have our journey, both through business and life. You know, this Covid thing I was sharing today, it's really great in the sense of it has allowed us to really work from home and be able to do lots of things that otherwise commuting time would have taken away from us. So it's been a. It's been a blessing and that's what we're. What we're choosing to focus on. So with that, I hope you have an extraordinary day. But again, please, like, share and comment. I'd love to hear how you're making a difference in the world and contributing with that. Have a great day. Bye, everyone.
