Cleaning Up: After an Economic Eruption

Steve Wohl compares volcanic eruptions to economic crises, arguing that while disasters can't be stopped, how we respond determines recovery. He calls for lifting moratoriums and returning to mortgage lending to rebuild the American Dream through compassionate capitalism.

My fellow compassionate capitalist Steve here with Titan Impact Group. Hey, I'm flying solo today. I know that most of you tune in to see the eye candy that is Catherine. She's also the brains of the operation, but she's not here today. So I feel your pain. And I'll tell you what, I'll keep this video relatively short so you know, you won't have to be tortured any longer than you need to be. Hey. In 79 AD, Mount Vesuvius erupted, thus covering and eventually ending the entire civilization that was in Pompeii. I'm not one that's completely unfamiliar with volcanoes, although I cannot find the ash that I brought back. I've been looking for it all morning. I'll bring it back up in another video some other time. I was less than 50 miles away from Mount Pinatubo in 1991 in the Philippines when it erupted. And it was kind of crazy there at noonday. The clouds and everything just blacked out. I mean it was pitch black. You, it was midnight black at noon. And we knew something major was happening. So we went and kind of all got into our little houses and shut everything down and everything. And of course in the Philippines they have these rolling brownouts as far as the electrical system at that particular time. And you were lucky to get one or two hours of electricity every single day. Well, about 3 o' clock in the morning when we're all sleeping, the electricity came on and thus all the fans came on and we were covered in ash and choking on it, burning our eyes and everything else like that. Really didn't know what was, what was going on until obviously daylight came and we saw that we, it basically snowed ash. And even back then you had environmentalists talking about how bad mankind was polluting the earth. And I just thought it was kind of funny that Mount Pinatubo, in that one eruption put more pollutants in the air than all the man made pollution since the beginning of time combined. So what does this have to do with history notes and actual distressed mortgages that were concerned with today? Well, the, the whole lesson is that whether or not disasters are man made or whether they're natural, or whether sometimes man made disasters turn into natural disasters. One thing is, is clear, we do not have the ability to change the consequences once something is in motion. However, what we do have the ability to, is to we have absolute control over how we react to the consequences. And it does seem a little frustrating that since the world decided to take an entire year off customer service nowadays My God. Very, very frustrating. I know that many of you are feeling that way as well. There's so many of us that just want to get back to work, just want to get back to paying the mortgage, get back to eating out and things like that. It just seems like every time we get revved up and ready to go, something comes and kick us down. Well, I'm here to tell you that even though entire civilizations have been wiped out in the past, the one consistent thing when it comes to human nature is that humans do persevere, that they do wait it out, they then clean up and they move forward. And yes, that means that some civilizations are forgotten about. However, the civilizations that you know are tough enough to, to resist the temptation to roll over and play dead are the ones that get to be the, the forefathers of the greatest civilizations of all time, which hopefully, if you're like me, believe that this is it right now and that if we perpetuate that into the future, the future generations will just continue to get better and better. So I just wanted to give that little thought to you today. I told you the video would be relatively quick. Remember, we here at Titan Impact Group are the sentinels of the American dream. That American dream has been, it's been sidelined a little bit due to some man made as well as natural disasters. But hey, we're cleaning up, we're getting ready to clean up here. The moratoriums will be lifted. We will be able to help people get their mortgages caught up, and banks will be able to continue to lend money to those who need it. And the economy will keep going, civilization will survive. And not only that, it will thrive as long as compassionate capitalists such as you and I continue to understand the economy, the economic cycles, and continue to give hope for those who are in need of a little light and a little hope in the dark days that seem to be upon us. So with that, I am Steve Wohl. I do know money, and I am the sentinel of the American dream.
