A short recorded conversation between Catherine Bell and Steve from Titan Impact Group about realistic expectations for entrepreneurship and investing. They contrast different roles—entrepreneur, investor, and ‘boots on the ground’—and warn that people often misunderstand these roles, creating self-employed situations instead of scalable businesses or informed investments. The clip emphasizes educating participants about risks and staying in one’s appropriate role.

Hey everyone, it's Kathryn and Steve here with Titan Impact Group. Steve and I have been having this incredible and actually annoying conversation and we've been talking about the reality of being an entrepreneur and an investor. And over the last few years, we've had several people come and have these great ideas and want to start their own companies or investments or, you know, whatever it is that they're doing. And here's the piece that people don't realize is that when people have the.
Hold on real quick because one of the things that they need to put proper perspective in is that there is a difference between an entrepreneur and boots on the ground. Okay, so what she's trying to explain here is coming from an entrepreneurial point of view, but she's been disappointed when boots on the ground, people should say boots on the ground. But so now she's come up with a way that people can become educated and make the decision for themselves on whether or not they want to move forward with it, understanding and knowing the risks that are taken. And that way they can make an educated decision and not just some, you know, like some multi level marketing type of thing where it's all rah, rah, rah and you can do this and then everybody ends up disappointed because you can't. So everybody needs to know what role they're playing and if they're crossing the lane, you know, crossing lines, I need to stay in their own lane. So with that, go ahead.
Well have accurate expectations and accurate thinking. Because as we all know, if any of you have read cash flow quadrant, you understand that there's four quadrants. There's employed, there's self employed, there's business owner, and there's investor. There are four completely different ways of thinking and functioning in the world. So what I'm seeing is that people who are employees want to jump over to business owner, investor, but really they have these dreams that are creating self employed, which is basically, it's another job that you've created for yourself that takes.
