A short YouTube monologue by Catherine Bell filmed at a palace in Williamsburg using a maze as an extended metaphor for life. She reflects on guidance, perseverance, trial-and-error (dead-ends and backtracking), and applies the metaphor to learning to invest, parenting, and being a wife while describing family interactions navigating the maze.

Okay, so here we are at a palace in Williamsburg, and doesn't life always feel this way? Like a maze? And what we're only given is literally steps that are right in front of us, and we just have to follow, just keep following. We got our kids with us, families with us, And sometimes we can't see beyond what is literally right in front of us, Which is why we always need guides. People who have been there before us who can literally say, follow me this way, go this way. Just keep trusting and going this way, and it'll all work out. That's how I feel about my learning to invest journey. Learning to be a parent journey, Learning to be an amazing wife journey. All of it has been about following the people who have gone before me and doing what they've done, going where they've gone. Because if we do similar to what they've done, we should get similar results. So that's what we do. And sometimes we have to backtrack and find a different way, find a different direction, and sometimes we run into fabulous other women. Are you going to hedge your bets that you're going to find the middle? Right. So we just keep traveling the path. So which one do we take? Do we take this one? Do we take this one? So we're gonna try one, and we're just gonna go with it. We're gonna trust, but we keep putting one foot in front of the other, trusting eventually we'll get there. And it may not fit the picture. It may not be the most direct path, the most direct way, but we're doing it. At least. We're putting one foot in front of the other. We're doing it. We can see. We can see something right there. It's just. How do we get to it? So we just keep going, and it's a dead end. And sometimes that happens. So we backtrack. We don't call ourselves names, we don't berate ourselves. We just simply backtrack and find a better way. That's our job. And we encourage ourselves, we encourage each other, we encourage our children. It's all about. We can see that there's a way, we can hear that there's a way. We just keep following the voices and the pads through that little opening. This is not an opening. I have no idea. I haven't yet. That. Hey, babe, are you. Are you doing videos or. I am talking about this is life that way. Doesn't you have to go the other way? Yeah, I know. I walked all the way through and it was a dead end. Dead end. It went. Yep, I did all that, man. Sometimes that happens. So that one sent me through a dead end. Oh, did you guys go the other way? Oh, I went to the pond. No, we looked at further. Oh no. Okay, you guys go. No, go back the other way. Oh, I think it's meant to mess with us. This is possible looking. I'm leaving. Oh, no. That's a nasty arrow. Said that way. But we're gonna go this way. Come on. No, no, we're over here. See, because they get an opening over here. I know. So how do you're tall. How do you see the opening? Well, I can't go through it. Now it's seated. Dead end. And sometimes if you're little, you can find the path. And then we go up. Go that way. No, no, go back, go back. Remember how you got to me? Like when you last saw me? Go that way. And of course, our marine found his way out first. How does it feel to be the winner? Look at me. I wasn't gonna be like everybody else. And I went around the maze. Love it. Not this one, the next one. There we are. There's the maze we just went through. There is a perfect metaphor for life this way.
