Okay. So I am super excited today. We're going to continue the conversation that we started on Tuesday about the most important thing in our lives.
Breath.
Breath. Breathing is the most important thing we can possibly do. And so we had an incredible conversation about that. And now we're going to, as people come on, if they have questions, they can for sure answer, you know, ask those questions and we'll jump on and answer them. And we already have questions that, you know, already get asked, and so we will go ahead and answer those. But it's just a beautiful opportunity for us to be mindful and get present because it all ties into the five Ds, right. And creating multiple streams of income and wealth. Because like I always say, money is like oxygen. The more you have, the easier it is to breathe. And the more you have, the easier can breathe, the bigger the difference in the world you can make. And so it's interesting that I equate money to oxygen. And that's what we're talking about, is breath, which is really interesting. So, Denise, I'm super happy to have you here. Let me share my screen. And then we are going to dive into all the fun things. Okay. Can you see my screen?
I totally can. Thank you so much.
Absolutely. So let's go ahead and continue this fabulous conversation and how we tie it into the multiple streams of income and making an impact investing and all that.
Got it. Let's do this.
Love this.
So.
So, yeah, so let's talk about this. Your favorite subject.
You know what? Well, I, I often hear, you know, there's. To echo what you were saying there a minute ago, people will often say to me that if they don't have their health, they don't have anything. And, you know, you said, you said this at the last time, that if we we spend all of our time trying to make money, we often then spend the rest of our money trying to give us more time and, and make that quality movement. Because, you know, we have a lot of folks who are diagnosed with something, some of it debilitating. A lot of people are living their lives and trying to get a better quality of life happening for themselves. And really, it's. It really comes down to, you know, this first part here is understanding your body's wisdom, really listening to it and saying, gee, you know what, what is it trying to tell me? And I've had my own personal experience where that was exactly what happened. Walked into a doctor's office. The doctor says, we got to do emergency surgery. I'm like, I went home and I literally did everything that I should have been doing all the way along. And that's kind of the key. I should have been doing it all the way along. What happened was, is over a course of us, you know, six days, I was able to make such a change in my. In. In my lifestyle, in my mindset, in my emotional body, in my. In my spiritual body. I was just so able to. To affect it on such a deep level that when the results came back two weeks later, the doctor's like going, I don't know what happened, but what we saw on the ultrasound disappeared. It's not there.
I.
He knew. He took it out, but it was like, what even happened to that? He. There. There was no explanation other than I had literally gone, you know, done that whole mindset. And. And I also realized at that particular point, I wasn't special. I'm not special. But I. What I did do was I listened to my body, I paid attention to it, and I went all in. And really, it's about. Did I have to have somebody on the outside tell me that this was happening? No. I mean, if I had just prior to that been really listening, then it would have been there. So, you know, that's not to say that you can get rid of everything that. But my quality of life really shifted at that point in time.
Right.
Right. It was. It's really that part that shifted. I was able to actually step into life as opposed to where I was, which was pretty scared. Pretty scared about a lot of things. Yeah. So which leads to the next one is creating that emotional safety level. And yeah, we have to get. We have to understand that feel physically. So the senses. Is not our emotions. They're very different and they can, you know, provide information. All of our emotions are based on past experiences, past patterns, past understandings. They're there to keep us alive for sure. But we just need to be able to differentiate between, am I actually feeling this because it's a physical thing or am I feeling this because it's an emotion. Emotional thing.
Right.
So it's kind of that. Going to the fridge and opening the fridge and sort of standing there and staring at what's inside, going, am I hungry? Am I not hungry? I'm. You know, what's really happening. It's a. There's a difference. There's a difference.
Right.
And then I'll just put in one more thing.
Yeah.
Understanding what your values are. Key. Key to your. How you're able to align with who you are on that safety level, on that emotional level. And on that physical level, you really need to understand what your values are, you know, because that's what's going to put you into alignment with being healthy and happy and, and living the quality of life that you really want to live.
Right. Like that to me brings me back to like, again, the values and what matters. Like, you know, when I talk about the 5D is the hard subjects, death, divorce, diagnosis, downsides being done, that 13 families are going to deal with at least three of those in their lifetime, possibly even five. I've dealt with all of them. And when, you know, when my late husband died, like, it really had me take pause and figure out, hold on, really, what does matter? At the end of the day, there's something about death that brings you back to like, what really is important. And inside of that getting really clear, like chasing money wasn't the answer, but making an impact absolutely was. And that's where I got clear, you know, that every project that we did moving forward must leave every person, property and community better than we found them. Right. And so again, it's like taking these opportunities for these emotional things that happen, these in. These things that happen in our life that, you know, I always say to my kids, we can't control what happens to us, but we can control what we just do with it. And you know, really leaning into that and you know, what do we choose to do with it, which is, you know, really important. So let's talk about this with the dimensions of wealth. And yes, we associate wealth with money, but there's like, we had talked about it on Tuesday, right? It's the, not only like money, but it's your vitality, it's your health, it's being able to have the time, freedom to do what you want, when you want, with whom you want. Like that's true wealth when we actually look at it and the quality that we have with them. Right?
For sure. For sure. It really comes down to, you know, if you go back to your values and what they are, money itself, Money itself as, as a, as a thing is, is not a value. It is something that comes as a result of those other things that you're trying to do. The impact, the leaving the community and the people that you are in touch with in a better place, that's a value and that is going to exchange to you in a certain way. And, and so it's, you have to be good on what your values are. What do you really value? So you're so right on that. So, you know, good health for sure. Are you eating the proper foods? Are you getting the right sleep? Are you, you know, are you able to be clear of your mind when you, when you're working with the people and the relationships that you have around you? That mental clarity, it is only going to come if you're in taking the right information, like the right stuff to sustain you. And that's, you know, as, as part of my understanding of health and well being. It comes down to an exchange of energy. You have to take in breath, you have to take in food, you have to, you know, get the right amount of sleep so that you actually have energy to have clarity of mind, to have good relationships to, to be able to be responsible for yourself and others. And that's where this, you know, the financial freedom also comes in is just, you know, you have to have that, that healthy exchange of information. And if it, if it's not healthy in all areas, that's okay. We all have places we need to improve and so we just work at it. We work at it with small little increments if, if that's where we need to start at.
Here is granting yourself grace.
Oh yeah, big time.
Rather than being impatient and frustrated with yourself like shoulding on yourself like you should, should, should. It's one of my things I absolutely despise the most is being shut it on and especially by myself and making sure that it's like, hold on, taking baby steps inside of like when we teach children how to walk, we don't like get mad at them because they didn't run the marathon or the Olympics, like Right. You know, their first time around. It's like we cheer and we celebrate, you know, that they're making efforts and strides towards it and that's what we lean into. And so for ourselves, like granting ourselves the grace to do the same thing around all this. Right.
And that's, that's why being at something like this, attending this, learning about this, seeing how breath will ultimately affects your finances, that those just give yourself an understanding that you're curious enough to actually step into it.
Right.
Like celebrate that. That's. And then, you know, start with the $5 a week of $50 you know, a week or whatever, you know, changing out your, your coffee habit at a coffee shop to, to making it at home and then using that extra money to come back and invest. I mean that's starting pretty low. But that's, that's, that's ultimately where, you know, the little steps count so much. That compound effect counts so much.
Right? Yeah. And, and here's the other piece? Is that inside also? What I heard, what you were just saying is I find a lot of people like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I know, I know. But knowing isn't where the gold is, it's the doing.
Right, Exactly. Yep. Knowledge is nothing without the execution. You got it.
Right. And it's teaching ourselves to slow down and to listen to it newly. Meaning, hold on. What if you listen to this conversation as though you'd actually never heard it before, then what would you actually get out of the content? Right.
So true. So true. Yeah, yeah.
Disciplined mind. To be able to hear it newly. Like they've never heard it before.
That's one of those things. People often use the word discipline wrong. We often think I'm saying that kind of tongue in cheek. But discipline is really about an honoring of yourself and others.
Yeah.
It's a muscle for sure. And. And not every day is going to be that perfect yoga workout. Not every day is, you know, and yoga I find in particular to be a great metaphor for this because, you know, there are days where I can do the tree pose, I can do that whole thing and make it look really good. And then there's other days where, you know, getting my knee to my ankle is. Or getting my foot to my ankle is like about as. About as far as we can go.
Right.
And so it's not shifts as the days change. It's not. It's just the day. It's just that's the way the practice is today. Okay.
Right.
All right. Right.
So, yeah, and it's like, again, you're like, okay, like, okay, body. This is what we're up to today. Like, yeah, totally resonate with this because I know for me, being a type a person personality and just being an absolute driver on every front, the impact on my, you know, has been brutal. And especially when, you know, all these different stressors happen in my life and when I didn't like sit in and deal with the emotions around it, the impact is that, you know, obviously it's the, you know, if you. I learned decades ago when you break down the word disease, it's dis ease. And it's like where I didn't stop and address and deal with the impact of whatever happened and the emotion around it and then process through it. And I just overrode it and kept going. And then what? My body finally got to the point where it's like, okay, enough, We've got to actually deal with this.
Well, you're. You're so right. I have you know, I have witnessed. I've had. I've got friends who are that type A personality, maybe a little bit more like aaa, but they are. One of them in particular was running Iron Mansion. And in his last. Iron man broke his back through compression fractures because he wasn't listening to his body. And it was just strictly that it was. You're not listening to your body. Hello. So you can't keep doing this. Yeah, so we're not finishing this race. I mean, he's, he's fine now, but it took. It. It took that literal pounding to actually get him to stop and pay attention.
Yeah. And was that really that necessary? You know, like just stopped and listen, so it's. Yeah, no, I, I can totally relate to that. Yeah. Where I'm really good at ignoring. Ignoring my body and ignoring all the things because I think I know better.
Well, we. We think we know better, but we also think that. Oh, yeah, no, that's just that. No, I have to do some. Something else is more important than whatever it is that I need to do for myself. And it's about those values. Right? Like, let's get the, let's get the values in place. Why are we, what are we trying to do here? Your value. You, Catherine, your, Your values are very clear. And, and, and so if you're able to go, yeah, no, this is about that. Well, so if I need to be able to affect the community, what do I need to do to. To actually do that? And on all fronts, like, what do I need to do from a physical perspective? What do I need to do from a relationship perspective? What do I need to do from an emotional or mental clarity perspective? And so often we, we push that mental one aside, the emotional one aside, because we're. We're thinking that we have to be overachievers and that triple Taipei personality and people. People pleasers. I mean, people pleaser. And. And, you know, a healthcare provider who has been doing everything for everybody else all my life that's.
They've done studies on moms where moms will literally put off their issues with health for years, if not decades in the whole piece of, you know, of taking care of their families, taking care of everybody else, and what's left for them at the end? Nothing. Right. Where in the end. And it's interesting because I think about, like, I don't know why I got thinking about this, but that whole thing where we hear, put on if, you know, in your airplane, the oxygen mask. Put on your oxygen mask first and then breathe, and we're told that all the time. Put on your oxygen mask in life in a proverbial sense. But then I was like, hold on. I think that message is a little bit off because again, rather than focusing on making sure that we're fully filled up, the only time we think about putting on the oxygen mask is when there's an emergency. Wait, what? That doesn't even make sense. But how many times is it that we don't actually address it and deal with it until it's an emergency, right? Where if we focused on like, what you're talking about, focusing on the breath, focusing on like, you know, checking in emotionally and actually addressing and dealing with all these things, like what it would actually cause, what would. What would the outcome be if we were completely filled up, we're completely nurtured, nourished, you know, all of that and then giving to our families from that place rather than from a constant chronic emergencies place.
I love, I love that and I love that. That realization of understanding that we can only. We can only give to the rest if we've actually taken the time to, you know, put our. Put our. Our values and how to create that value first before giving from it and giving, I mean, giving beyond from it. So that's where really, where it comes down to some of that discipline of, you know, you got to do this every day. You got to pay attention to you every day. It's not that I only do it once, or I do it once a month, or I go away once, you know, for a weekend once a month. It's where, you know, the first thing that you do when you get up in the morning, what is the thing that you do? What is. What are you disciplined to do first thing in the morning for you, or is it always for somebody else?
Yeah, and I hear like, even the language of it, right? Like, like, you've got to, like, rather than. You get to. Right? Rather than hearing, like it's a discipline, like, oh my God, it's one more freaking thing I gotta do. I don't have time, blah, blah, bl. I can already hear it in the back of my mind. Whereas it's like, hold on, what if I view this as a gift that I gave to myself and my family that like, what if, you know, and would it give me more joy to be able to do it? And. And I'm only speaking from, you know, again, you know, my kids just recently, you know, within the past year have moved on. They're living their own life, doing their own things, which is, you know, the whole design of it. But believes me, you know, an empty nester. Now what do I do? And realizing like all of my, my joy, my fun, everything was wrapped up in my kids and like doing fun things with my kids and I, you know, for decades, which I loved, but now it's like, hold on. Like if I actually ask a better question, which is what would bring me joy? What can I do for fun that would also fulfill on taking care of my mental, emotional, physical, financial health. Like that brings me true joy. You know, so taking on like playing pickleball, you know, having dance lessons three to four nights a week, like all these things that, you know, I get to do because they bring me joy. And a natural side effect of it is it helps my health. Right. So it's, it's just, it's been an interesting journey, a mindfulness, an awareness journey that I get to be on to, to take care of myself. And I know I'm not alone. I know that, you know, there's so many women out there who have poured into their families for decades and the, the cost on every level. Yeah, it's not good. Not good at all.
Well, it's, it's, it's. Yeah. As long as you are giving to, you know, your kids and, and by the way, I, I fully appreciate what you're talking about there. The importance of my, of my daughter has been unbelievable and making room for that on a regular basis is important. But even in personal relationships with partners and that kind of thing, you have to maintain a sense of who you are and you have to develop who you are. You can't, when the kids leave, you just can't transfer all of that energy that you would have been given on the kids to, to give off to your partner. Your partner is going to go, excuse me. And I'm not a, I'm not the kid. Right. But you would be a whole lot more exciting if you had, you know, if you were looking at expanding yourself. And, and that's what's important is we need to continue doing that over the time period and of, of the whole relationship. Just keep growing and keep how. What fills your bucket going to. You know, I love the fact that you love dancing. I can't imagine doing three to four nights of. For. On a personal level, I can't because I'm that person that, you know, I'm not such a great follower. So that would be that.
That's why I'm taking so many lessons, because not good at it. Right. And I'm determined. Like, let Me tell you, like, I have to tell it. So this is actually really funny. So one of the things that I'm discovering through dancing and I think I probably need to do a whole thing on this is how challenging it is for me to follow. Like again, you know, my husband's been, you know, passed away eight years ago this month. And you know, so it's been me and my kids and like just. And I've just out of necessity taken on all the things. And now it's like, like want to have a relationship. Like, what does that look like? And the whole like symbiotic, beautiful relationship. Somebody has lead, somebody has follow. Like all the things. And again, in life and in business, like it just all the places. But again, realizing like how ingrained and out of necessity the whole leading and not being able to follow has like really been a challenge for me. And so it's like training my brain to think about it differently and to respond to it differently. Like, it's just again, just a super fascinating exercise for me inside of the following, which again, yeah, that.
Not that I want to on myself, but that sounds like a marvelous idea.
Right? Yeah. So speaking about failing, right. Like, why fails? Right. Again, it's ignoring. Ignoring what's going on, emotionally ignoring, you know, the. What's actually happening. You talked about our values and then not having that balance in there, which leads to the long term burnout and that this goes for wealth, this goes for health, this goes for relationships. Like, this goes for every area of our life. So it's having that healthy balance in all those areas. So I like to talk about like the five pillars. You know, it's like mental, emotional, physical, financial and spiritual. It's pretty much all the areas of our lives. Like everything can fall into one of those buckets. And when we have. And we, if we think of those as like spokes on a wheel, if one of those spokes is missing or broken, our wheel is all sudden lopsided and like try to like, you know, like ride on that. That's gonna. Oh my gosh. But how many, how often are we feeling we need to go faster, but we haven't like really solidified all the spokes in our wheel and continue to maintain them. Right. So it's.
We do.
Yeah. We could talk about this forever.
Oh, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, and. And you know what? Often that idea too, of the, of the, of the lumpy wheel, if you will, as it goes down the, as it goes down the road, if one of those spoke, it's okay to have a smaller wheel versus one you. And so focus and try to get that integration happening, that balance happening, it makes for a much smoother ride. The. The. As opposed to this, you know, as you. As you go down the road with this lumpy wheel. Because you'll often end up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's. So if you do the smaller wheel focused more tightly in on those five. Those five areas, my five pillars, then you will find yourself being definitely able to go faster and much further, and it'll be way more enjoyable.
Right, but we need the integrity there first, which is so critical. Yeah, no, that's amazing. So which leads to legacy, right? Like, if we don't have our health, we can have all the wealth in the world, but really, what's the legacy, right? Like, what are we actually building? And I think, like, as moms and as women, like, again, with our kids, it's what's caught, not what's taught. So I always think about, like, what was it that my. I was modeling that my kids were catching versus the do as I say, not as I do. Right? Because that's. That's the bigger piece. So what are we teaching inside of, again, the. How are we dealing with our emotions? And there's. I feel like there's this, like. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but, you know, with Mel Robbins and like, there's all these podcasts I'm listening to, and they're really talking about the emotional intelligence. And I think back in earlier generations, there just wasn't that didn't even have the term emotional intelligence. Right? And so there's this, like, lack of awareness, lack of, like, all of it. Now, did our parents and our grandparents do the best they could at the time? Absolutely. And I'm deeply grateful for that. And now that we know better, we get to do better, right? For ourselves, for our children. But, you know, again, all comes down for ourselves first, right? Because if we don't do that for ourselves, what. What does any of it matter? You know, again, it goes back to the why. Why do we have to wait for the oxygen mask to drop to think about taking care of that piece of ourselves, like, take care of it first before. Wait for that. That thing to drop. So, common concerns. Let's talk about this, because when you're dealing with. Let's talk about this, because I think this is very real that a lot of people have the same concerns.
Oh, for sure. We're. And it's getting. It's getting tougher, if you will. These are These are the main things that are out there. Things are shifting so fast, we are distracted and there's this sense of urgency that is becoming overwhelming. So as technology shifts, we're losing sight of, we're getting caught up actually in this. Oh my God, I don't understand everything. I don't, and I don't know where to turn to trust and I don't have enough time. Like those are the major concerns and that just increases the stress level which puts more into the fight or flight. And then that, you know, shuts down the brain and the, and the whole ability of the neurosystem to be able to function appropriately and well. So the, what you've got here is very clearly the major issues that are going on out there. People don't seem, they don't see, feel that they are seen, they don't see that they're heard, they don't know where to turn. They. And when you don't feel seen or heard, you're not going to trust anything, right? And you're also not going to like, like I said. So I remember a few months ago where they were starting to advertise all this AI stuff and there was, I don't know, maybe 10 different platforms. Have you looked lately? There's like 25, 30 different platforms and, and it's like all of a sudden it went from, okay, it was just a couple of platforms and now I'm becoming overwhelmed because now I need to know all these platforms. No you don't. No you don't. You know how to operate, you know, you know how to turn on your computer, you know how to, to open a browser. You don't have to know the list of browsers that are out there and how each one of them works. You just have to, you know, work at it, at your pace and move through it.
So fascinating. So let's talk about real freedom, right? So again, yes, there's the creating wealth and all of that, but it all comes down to your well being, right? Like because at the end of the day like you can have all the wealth in the world, but if you don't have your well being taken care of, like that's the piece and it goes vice versa, right? Like I talk about the 5D's death, divorce diagnosis is downsized and being dumped and that if you don't have your seven streams of passive income in place when any of those hit, you literally will be financially devastated. So it's about like again having that balance, all the spokes on your wheel making sure that you're even if like you said it's a smaller wheel but at least they're all the spokes are in integrity. Right. So that's the they're all in integrity.
And then they build on each other. Catherine. They really so you may start off with a small wheel but as you continue to to have the discipline to work on them, you know throughout your your time they will grow and they will grow so the wheel will gradually get bigger. So you're their investments will get bigger. Their their physical ability to be resilient whether it's emotionally or spiritually or physically it will all actually build on each other. So it starts off little but that whole compound effect really works on all works with finances, it works with your health, it works with so many things and so paying attention to those five we five spokes. So key. So key.
Yeah absolutely. So you work with people on all of this, right?
Yes I do.
People have the ability to book a call with me. Book a call with you. We've got lots of workshops coming up and things like that. But let's talk about specifically like if people are like the going back to who are the people that typically come and seek you out to work with you?
Many of them are I understand healthcare workers like it's like I'm in their head probably because it looks very familiar to my own but I so I work with a lot of healthcare workers. I work with a lot of super moms and CEOs who have been overachieving trying to and they want more clarity. They want more in their life and with by doing things seemingly less but it's not that they are clearer on their values. They're clearer on things that have been standing in their way. They're clear on learning how to use and like I said before I use devices wearable devices to help me people see the transformations that they're actually making and show them how they can do something today that will let's to so today is Thursday but and by Saturday they would be able to see and feel the differences if they did something today. So you're it's getting some of that quick turnaround to understand if I put these things in place will actually work through so I do cover 12 different dimensions of health and well being work with them with the their own biometrics and help them create the plan that's going to help them change very quickly, transform very quickly but then sustain themselves as they go forward.
That's amazing. So how can people get a hold.
Of you they can email me at denise white cedarclinic.com they can go on my LinkedIn page. They can go on my Instagram, which is Doctor Health Solutions. And those are some pretty good ways.
I love that. So very cool. So I hope that this was helpful for everybody and more importantly, like, gave people something to think, think about and think about in a different way, because I find that we can be having the same conversations, but when we're given the opportunity to think about it just a little bit differently, our brains go. And then, you know, hopefully it gives us permission to get to take care of ourselves, which is what we want and the gift from it, you know, like, again, what I'm discovering, the fun I'm having with pickleball and dance lessons, which is so fun. So find fun ways to do all this. Anyways, Denise, you're amazing. Thank you for this. I love our conversations. They're so thought provoking. You're amazing. I appreciate you. And I look forward to hearing more stories about, you know, how you're, like, literally helping people transform their lives, their legacy and all the amazing things.
I've got some retreat retreats coming up, too, so if people are interested in that, one of them is actually online, so follow me. And yeah, a virtual one. That one's going to be a lot of fun. So by all means, by all means.
Reach out to Denise to find out more about that. That's super important. I love.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right. Thanks, Catherine. You're awesome. Have a wonderful day.
Love it. Okay, bye, sweetie.
Bye.
