Okay. I am over the moon, excited to be having this conversation with you. You are extraordinary. And I can't wait to have everybody hear your unbelievable story and how we met on all the things so today. So everybody, welcome. Super excited to have you all here. And you're going to love this story. This is really exciting. So one of the things why I had this is like such an odd conversation. And you may not know this, Becky. So for the past 30 years, I've literally been on a mission to have the most comfortable bed on the planet. Because we spend a third of our lives sleeping. Correct. So people will spend more money on a car, more money on all these other things. But something that matters so much, our sleep, which impacts every area of our life, people tend to skip over and not think much about. So that's why we're here. That's why we're having this conversation with everybody and why I want to talk about you and how we met and all the things. Because it's super, super fun. So again, as women. So I'm 50, right? And going through all these fantastic power surges, let's call it that. And they happen in the middle of the night. So having not only a comfortable bed, but a cool bed or like a temperature regulated. I mean, it's a whole science to this whole thing. Which is why, again, meeting you and all the things matters so much to me. So everybody, I'd love for you to meet Becky. And here's the very cool part about this. I was at a women's expo. It was a couple months ago now. And walking up and down the aisles, there were all the booths there, right. I can't help myself, but I touch things. I'm a kinesthetic person, so I love to touch. Anyways, that's a whole other story. And I walked by and you had these sheets. And I. And I was like, hold on. I literally stopped and came back and had to rub my hands all along these beautiful sheets. I was like, what is this? And it was your niece. She was standing there. You weren't even there yet. And so we were having this amazing conversation about how all of this got created. And then you came up and we started talking about all the things. And that's why I wanted you to come on. Like, yes, it's about the sheets, but more importantly, it really is about your story and, and who you are and what you created and why you created what you created. So I really, really, really love that. So let's talk before we can. We can dive into, like, all of this. But it comes down to, yes, you did this for sleep, Right? And at the end of the day, there's a bigger reason why you actually created this company. So let's talk about, like, the inception of this and then the journey of it and then where you're at now. Because I think that when people understand, again, where you came from and all the things that you did, like, the magic behind it, is really amazing. And it goes back to, like, my company, Titan Impact Group. So Titan being the sentinels of the American dream, I feel like you really latched on to your version of the American dream. And then there's the impact part. And then, of course, you know, inside of how you created the multiple streams of income for your family to mitigate the five Ds, which you actually had to deal with. So let's talk about that, because it's all inside of my vision and mission and where you and I completely aligned in this whole story.
So.
Why. Why sheets? How the heck did this happen? And, yeah, share all of that.
Okay, so we're gonna go back 10 years ago, and I had just had my first baby, and I got to stay home with her. She had an undiagnosed heart issue, and it was by the grace of God that she lived. And I had to give her heart meds around the clock. So after I got that down for the first 10 months of her life, then I was like, okay, I got this mom thing down, but, oh, my gosh, we just bought a house. We bought. We put every penny down on this house. And then my husband has crazy school loans that I'm like, oh, my gosh. The panic set in. Like, how are we ever going to pay all of this off? And your school loans are amortized over 30 years, and he has a professional degree, and it was a lot of money. And I was like, oh, my goodness. Well, I. Since I got this mom thing under control, I'd always been a little entrepreneur on the side. And I was like, I know I could do something from home and be a stay at home mom. I could just, like, double down on our mortgage or double down on his school loans. And instead of paying off our house in the typical 30 years, I want to pay it off in half of that time or even a third of that time, right? So I'm like, okay, I could just make a couple thousand dollars.
That's.
That's not that. That can't be that hard to do. So I randomly listened to a podcast, and there was this guy that was selling these Yoga mats on Amazon. And he was like, oh, it was so easy. And I was making so much money. And I was like, that piqued my interest. I'm like, oh my gosh, I could do that and be a stay at home mom, I could do. But the thing was, I had literally just taken every single dollar to pay a 20% down on my house so that I would not pay the pmi because I thought that was stupid too, right? So I talked it over with my husband and I was like, I'm just going to do this Amazon thing. And back in the day, in 10, 10 years ago, there was no data that you could access to know like what was a good hot selling product. So when my baby was sleeping, I would just scour the Amazon's top 100 list to find out, oh, what was selling well, right? And I'm like, I don't need to be the top seller. I just need a tiny, tiny piece of the pie because I just need a couple thousand bucks, right? Like, I think having my expectations so low was the key to not being scared and just like going for my crazy dreams, right? So I reached out to a bunch of manufacturers via Alibaba, which is a website where you can contact manufacturers in China or multiple different countries actually. And so I started getting samples and I'm like, I'm just gonna do something like embedding or towels or something that like has so much volume that I just need a tiny piece of. And so I actually started with mattress protectors. And then I was, I was like, no, that's not it. And so when I reached out to this one manufacturer for sheets, she was like, well, actually, I'm gonna send you this awesome comforter too. It's a down alternative comforter and you're gonna love it. And I was like, oh, I don't know about that, but sure, like, so as soon as my husband felt it, he was the one that was like, oh my goodness, you gotta do this. And I'm like, really? I don't know, but it was like kind of more expensive than what I was going for, you know? So anyway, long story short, because the two of us are entrepreneurial and we are kind of not your average. We are, we're crazy. We're totally crazy. We ordered a 40 foot container of these comforters. Okay? I have a one and a half year old who you know, is a busy, busy little baby, and we launched it on Amazon. And then I get my first sale and then I start getting 30 sales a day. And then I'M like, oh my gosh. And this is before you could send any inventory into Amazon to get it shipped by Amazon. Right. So that's. Now every. Everything is shipped into multiple warehouses across the nation and across the world, actually. But anyway, I had to just ship out all of these items during my baby's nap time.
Right.
Then I would wake up really, really early when she was still asleep and do the rest of my business stuff. And then I would take her to the children's museum and then all the little mommy dates. And I was actually living a dual life. Like I thought I was a stay at home mom, but really I was selling seven figures online as a stay at home mom. And this was without advert.
Okay, so where were you storing all these things? Let's talk about the inventory. Where did you keep.
Oh my gosh.
That what that takes to manage all that. Okay, so.
Before it blew up. Oh yeah. And it blew up right away, by the way, like unexpectedly. Okay. It. So I, I had a first container and it was in the, it was on the ocean. It was already on the way and I didn't even know where I was going to store it, but I was like, oh, well, I'll figure that out when I need to figure that out. I'll figure out tomorrow. So I ended up renting a couple storage containers next to my husband's office and he live, or he works for underprivileged little kids in a less economically awesome area. So the rent was super cheap. Right. And we got a little van so he could pick up whatever I needed to ship out that same day. So we kind of had it like, like down to a science. Right. Then we had to rent U Haul vans and we ended up filling up my entire living room through full of, oh gosh, I don't know, 500 comforters. Because that's how much I would have to ship out every week. My husband was like, well, this is silly. We'll just like put it in our house. And I was so embarrassed, but I was making more money than he was. And I don't know why I was embarrassed, but I had like a warehouse in my house. Right, right. So it's not glamorous, it's not beautiful.
But you know, I don't know that entrepreneurial ship is. I think that's the piece for anybody who is an entrepreneur. Like, there's nothing pretty about this. It's messy. And anybody who hasn't done it thinks that it's all this like glamorous stuff. It's not it is an enormous amount of work and it's messy. Yeah.
And an enormous amount of risk. Right. So every container costs a lot of money. And. But then I. I was. I was raised by very frugal parents, who I learned at an early age. We. We had a comfortable life. And then my dad lost his job and my sister tried to commit suicide all in the same week.
And it was two D's right there being. And then potential death.
Yeah. And So I was 10 years old when that happened. And I remember we live. I had. I had gone to a little private school, and I remember my mom saying, okay, guys, I'll have to do a yard sale because we don't have any money to send you next month. So let's just pray that we make $300 so that you and your brother can go back to school. And so whole world had already crumbled.
Right.
Like, my sister tried to die. My dad was totally lost and ended up in the mental institution with my diagnosis.
So now there's three Ds. Yes.
And my mom had just. She was an entrepreneur too. She had just opened up a gift basket shop and thrown all of their savings into that. So then she had to close it. So anyway, this was highly.
That's down.
Yeah. So it was all at the same exact time. And I remember thinking, okay, I am never going to be in this position when I'm old enough, I'm going to figure out a way to never live month to month, ever. And so that was highly imprintable. Like, and that is the reason why I run the business the way I run my business. I'm very, very lean.
Right.
And so unlike my other peers that were sending all of this inventory straight into Amazon, spending 5 to $10,000 a month in storage fees, I was like, I'm just gonna do it myself. And I rather just grow slower and just do it myself. So during COVID when every warehouse shut down, Amazon warehouses, that is, I was the one that had 11 containers of comforters in all of my storage sheds. And at that point I was like, oh my gosh, we need more than a little van. And my husband, he's a dentist, so his office shut down. Right. And so I'm like, okay, you're coming to work with me. And we just together rocked it out. We shipped out 11 containers ourselves. Wow, two customers. It was insane. With two little girls at home, like, we just figured it out, right? And we didn't have any help because it was Covid and no one wanted to hang out. So it was My husband and I. And that year was the year that probably I. I became a millionaire. Yeah. By that hard work. But I had purchased a. Yeah, let's back up. I had purchased a house when my. My neighbor's house accidentally. Or my neighbor's tree accidentally fell on my house. And we had. I was like, well, let's not rent anything if we have to move. Let's just buy something right. You know, very close by. And it can be something like a total gut job. So right then, a house came on the market, and that same day it came on the market, I was like, jeff, I don't. I don't know if we have enough money. This is before. Before COVID Right. This is like two years before when my business was doing good, but I wasn't taking a salary. I was just like, pouring everything back into my business just so we could have. I don't. I don't know. Yeah, I was just very lean. So, long story short, we bought this house, and then when Covid hit and I didn't have enough space in all the storage sheds, I was like, let's just drop off our. Our. Our next container load at this house. So I got a couple labor ready guys, and we all just stocked this house full of 3,000 comforters that I would ship out all the time via ups. It was kind of crazy, but in doing that, instead of paying Amazon the crazy storage fees, I just paid myself, essentially. And how I. Even though it's a lot of work and it's not pretty, it's not glamorous, I. I'm not in a dress, I am sweating, and I live in Phoenix. It is not. It's. You know, you're just shipping stuff out, the heat of the summer sometimes.
Right.
But that grit and determination and doing it even though it's not glamorous is what really got me ahead. And so moving forward, fast forward a couple years, and I was on a first grade field trip with my little girl doing the mommy thing and the business thing thing, and we're almost back to her school, and this old lady my dad's age is going the opposite direction and crashes into us and all the airbags deploy. We had three little first graders, and I was in the passenger seat and my another mom was in the driver's seat. I ended up having a huge laceration and had a stroke.
And another diagnosis.
Another diagnosis. And I had. Oh, go ahead.
It's one of the Ds. Yeah.
And that was right after I had decided, I'm going to expand and I'm going to order all these new products and I have literally ordered the biggest amount of inventory I had ever ordered. And I'm normally super lean and this time I just went for it and then I got crashed or then we got into an awful car accident and I literally couldn't think. And I'm still in recovery. I'm in hyperbaric oxygen. I've been in 45 hours of that and it has honestly created angiogenesis which creates new blood blood cells. And see, sometimes I still lose my train of thought. So just bear with me. But yeah, I'm in I therapy currently. It has been a journ and it's been a year and a half journey and I feel.
So the expense of that.
Exactly.
Like if you had to, if you didn't have this business.
Correct.
You have paid for all these really expensive therapies. Correct.
Which I have to pay out of pocket. Your insurance does not pay for that.
Right.
And then you have to wait two years to get reimbursed, if you will get reimbursed. You have to fight with the car accident insurance companies.
Right.
And of course they don't want to pay for that, but that is truly necessary in order to actually get your brain back and functioning. And talk about how stressful. If I had a normal 9 to 5 job, how would I ever go to all of these necessary healings?
Yeah.
Would it? Or you would have to quit your job, to be honest.
So.
I believe in when you have your brain capacity and you have an idea, just go for it. Honestly, go for it. Because you don't know when someone may crash into you and you're gonna lose part of your thinking capacity for a little bit. I mean. Right. Really scary actually. So, yeah, I feel very, very blessed. And I've also had to just take a, take it down a notch, which I don't do very well because I always want to keep going.
Right. Yeah. So this is. So here's why I love the story is like literally you had a thought, you heard, you heard something on a podcast and you're like, hey, I could do that. And again, as a stay at home mom and look at all the things that rippled into and turned into this multimillion dollar company and, and more tragedy happened. But at the same time, it's part of the blessing that's helping you overcome, you know, all of that. I mean, it's just again, it's the whole version of the American dream. But it's the like people think that being an entrepreneur is this beautiful Straight line. It's this messy giant knot and web and. Ugh. But the fact that, you know, you and your husband like how supportive he is, and, you know, you're like, we'll just figure it out. Like, there was no. There was no handbook that was handed to you to say, hey, Becky, here's. Here's a business plan. Here's how you're going to do it. Here's all the things. No troubleshooting section. Right. Like, you just figured it out as you go. And I just. I don't know. I love all of that, and I just feel like people needed to hear your. Your message, you know, all of that. And. And I want people to know these sheets are because. Okay, so let me share My. My piece to all of this is that I did buy your sheets, and I freaking love these sheets so much for a couple of reasons. One, they keep me cool at night. Was. I'm going through the fun power surges, especially in this, like, Phoenix triple digit heat. We're, like, dying here. Two, that the. Whatever the band is that you put. So the dang sheets stay on the bed. Oh, my God. That's, like, the greatest thing ever. Whatever that is. It's this really wide band that you put on them. You want to talk about that for a sec? Because I think. I don't know. As weird as it is, that irritates the heck out of me is when the sheets pop off the bed.
Okay, so this is it. Oh, let me take myself off blur. Hold on one second. Oh, I don't mean to do that.
I'll stop sharing for just a sec so people can see the beautiful box that comes in. Check out this box.
Okay. Yeah, I love this.
So the company is lavish comfort. You can find her on Amazon.
Yeah. Or lavishcomforts.com and then you open it up.
Second. It's a beautiful box, by the way.
Oh, thank you. I designed this myself. Yay.
I love it.
So it literally dispels heat 10 times faster than your average fabric.
And it's super soft.
Yeah. It's very silky soft. And when you open it up, it's.
So beautiful, you guys.
It is this cold to the touch fabric that just keeps you cool literally all night long.
It does. Yep.
Oh, this is the cooling comforter, and it comes in many different sizes. This is one of our most popular dark storm gray.
And I got the really beautiful, luscious cream color. Oh, yeah, I love the cream.
And then these are the sheets.
There it is. See that band? That band around the edge coming off that mattress. Hallelujah.
Literally, I was like, why is it there's amazing sheets, but they pop off only my husband's side of the mattress. That's right. Insane. So asked, I just designed a super premium elastic. Literally, it's three inches thick, and it goes all the way around the mattress, and then it goes underneath the mattress as well.
So awesome. Yeah.
So it will literally never pop off. And then all of our sheets have a 3% elastic, so it literally fits all different depths of mattresses as well. So it never pops off. And then our sheets are infused with silver ions, which silver naturally prevents 99.7% of bacteria growth so that you don't have to wash your sheets as often. And it's extra healthy for your skin and your face. And then our pillowcases have the zippered encasement. I'll show you that, too. So that your pillow never pops out of your pillowcase.
So I love that feature, by the way. The whole zipper on the pillowcase. Oh, my gosh. Genius. It took a whole. I love it.
Yeah.
And all the things that irritate us.
Yes, exactly. All the things that irritate us. I decided I'm going to fix every single item, and I'm going to make the perfect sheet set that keeps us cool. So there you go. And then they do not wrinkle as soon as you put them on your mattress.
Oh, yeah. It's gorgeous.
They are cold and they stick to your mattress. And your pillow never falls out because that is so gross when you like. Right.
Your pillow is like the. Yeah. Yeah. Again, so many solutions. And just from, like, listening to a podcast about a guy doing some this with some yoga mats. Right. And what. Journey through the whole thing.
I know.
Love your story. Right. It's completely unconventional. And you're a mom. You're like, I just can figure it out. You know, like, go buy the house down the street. She's a.
Right now I'm on my back patio because my kids are home. They did not want to go to summer this week. And so I'm back here having a moment of silence on my patio.
Right. I mean, again, this is like the piece. Like, I love how, you know, we as women, just, you know, figure it out, make it work, do all the things. Right. And that's again, why I love your story. So Thursday, we're gonna come back and we're gonna have a whole Q A section and come and ask questions. Right. Like, I feel like, here's the other piece that's really important for people to understand. Anybody who knows my story knows that I started out doing buy and hold, discovered I didn't like tenants and toilets, and I did some wholesaling. Not true. Passive income. Then I did vacation rentals. Turns out I don't like guests and toilets either. Right. And then I did residential ground up development, commercial ground up development, 500 fix and flips. Like doing all the things. And the whole purpose is to give you permission to try the different things. Don't feel like you have to pigeonhole yourself into something. And I get most of this doesn't come with a manual. However, if you're like, really, like, there's evidence somewhere. You had evidence people were buying and selling stuff off of Amazon, so why couldn't you do that too? Right? I had evidence that investing in real estate, it worked somehow and I just, you know, could figure it out and obviously, you know, go through the whole thing. So for all of you, I hope that this inspires you and sparks something inside of you that's like, wait a second, you know, what if, like, you know, somebody else is doing it? There's evidence. What if I could do it and do it better? Right? Like, it's not like you invented sheets, but you, you took care of the pain points of the dang sheets slipping off and being too hot or the pillowcases. Having a pillowcase slip off. Like, again, it's just all those fabulous things that you took and you tweaked it just a little bit. That made a huge difference. So come back on Thursday. We're going to be answering all the questions, having a whole dialogue about this, and I'd love to hear about all of your, you know, different ideas and journeys and entrepreneurial, you know, things that you guys are working on. Because who knows, who knows what we could connect to and do all the things. But Becky, I'm just super, super excited that we met and we had this unbelievable connection and conversation just randomly at an expo. And now I feel like we've become fast friends and just one of the coolest entrepreneurial stories.
So, again, thank you so much, Kath.
Magic. And thank you. And thank you for being a woman that just, you know, grabbed the bull by the horns and just did it. Right?
Like, right. That's what we have to do. And I love the mantra. If he can do it, so can I.
Right?
Like, why can't I do it too? Sure.
I love it. Well, you're extraordinary. And I look forward to our conversation on Thursday and, you know, just more of this conversation moving forward. So with that. Thank you for your time. You're amazing. I cannot wait for our conversation on Thursday. Thank you. Thank you, everybody, for coming. And please join us Thursday and bring your questions. Let's talk about all the fun entrepreneurial things and this amazing journey that Becky has been on that literally has, like, again, created revenue streams so that again, we talked about four of the five Ds that she was going through. So this is no joke. And why we want to talk about this more. To have all of you create a minimum of seven streams of passive income, that's my goal for all of you. So with that, have an extraordinary day. I love you all, and I can't wait to talk to you on Thursday. We'll see you later.
Bye, guys.
