So welcome, everyone. I'm super excited. This is the Q and A portion for the webinar that Mary and I did earlier this week. And it's the next layer of really now implementing the breath, the body, like, really connecting. And I don't know if all of you, but I know for me, inside of that conversation that Mary, you and I were having, like, it's had me think about it for the last couple of days of, like, what does that really look like, being in the body? And I know for me personally, I've been going through some really stressful things and just being mindful of, like, lifting my feet and letting the waves wash over and just being in all the feelings, even though the feelings are highly uncomfortable and not happy, but, you know, it's the importance of actually, you know, doing that and then, you know, being here and having this mindful conversation. So, yeah, super excited. So let's go ahead and dive in and start answering a lot of the questions.
Sounds good.
So do you want to recap on this? Oh, this is you, baby. You see my screen?
Yes. No, I'm excited to be back. Thank you. I thought I was waiting for a question, so sorry about that. I wasn't actually frozen. So, yeah, this is the. The space that we get together to really celebrate what this body, this journey of embodiment can look like for you. And so we. We're excited to answer any questions or to kind of just recap all that we've talked about and just letting everyone know that we are here. There are a community of women that are really starting to dive into this kind of work, and it is so important to start connecting with those in the community that are working on that, because it can be an intense journey, and we do not ever want to go it alone, nor do we have to. So, yeah, that basically is a little welcome back from me.
So let's talk about, like, what we explored.
So, yeah, last Tuesday, we really dove into kind of the survival mode patterns that we tend to get into when we're stuck in this hustle mode. And a lot of us that are building businesses, raising families, having relationships, we tend to sometimes get. Get stuck there and what that looks like. What we talked about was really going into that masculine energy of, like, the drive and the goals and forgetting to kind of balance in that relaxation and receiving. So we talked a little bit about embodiment practices that we could do. So some of those included just, like, stopping for a moment to be with your breath. I mean, it can really be as simple as that and who doesn't have their breath attached to them everywhere they go. And that is a really simple doorway in. And then I think you spoke a little bit about how that contributes to your. Your wealth as you move through the world and how it's important to really be out of that kind of fight or flight and back into that parasympathetic nervous system mode where you're relaxed and you can hear your. Your intuition a little bit more clearly and your body's actually healthier because you're listening to its needs. And I believe that completely contributes to your ability to go out there and create wealth.
Yeah, absolutely. So. So, yeah. So let's talk about what stood out. I mean, this was really fascinating how this is all connected.
Yeah, absolutely. And, you know, knowing that I was coming on to, to share this with you, and just sometimes when you're going to do something and share something, you really get a chance to sit back and reflect on your life. And that really got me thinking about my career in corporate sales and, you know, becoming one of the top salespeople while doing. Going on this really deep journey within myself to, you know, with this determination not to live in that hustle mode anymore. And just seeing the results that it made in my, not only my personal life, but my professional life was really incredible. To really just go back and like, revisit, you know, and how when I started to actually get in tune with my body, I was able to do less, but also know what right things to do, if that makes sense. Right from being here, being now, being present. And then there's that beautiful, magical thing, you know, that we access called our intuition, that really just starts to lead us and guide us into the perfect situations. And then it seems like, you know, all these synchronicities are lying up around us. But I really do feel like our body, our emotions are that guidance system that we tap into when we start to really come home to our bodies.
Yeah. So important and so critical. So here's some of the questions that, you know, that get asked.
Yeah. What exactly is embodiment work? Well, it's basically doing practices, intentional practices, and mindfulness practices to begin to kind of go from just living up here in your head and bringing all of that back down into your body. So when we think about living in that kind of hustle mode, when we live in our minds and we're always living and thinking about the future, about what needs to be done, like our energy, our attention, and our consciousness is out, you know, out somewhere else, it's either in the future or it's in the past. And so embodiment work is really paying attention to, like, the right now and being able to sense what is going on in our body and being able to then live from that space. Which means, you know, I don't know if you've ever gotten to the end of the day and realized you had a giant bruise on your leg, right. And wonder how it happened when you ran into something earlier in the day and you weren't even focused on it. So it really is like we're out of our bodies, essentially, right?
Yeah.
So that is what body embodiment work is, is really just taking the time to do, honestly, really simple practices, but consistently to keep bringing us back to the now. And how do we integrate this when life is so busy? That is a question I get often asked. And being a mother of four and also a grandmother of three and having a relationship in my life and all the things that come with that, I can still find time, like I said, to breathe, you know, and the beautiful thing about it is when we start using the breath, and I kind of teach people some different breathing techniques that they can do, but honestly, it can be as simple as the one we did the other day, where you breathe in for a count of four, you hold it for a few seconds, and then you do a longer exhale, maybe for a count of six. And what that actually does, if you do that three times, is it physically forces you out of that fight or flight mode. So. And like everything in life, the compound effect, right, the more little things we do combat compound into the bigger results. So when I started doing this in my hectic, busy life, I was a single mom, four kids, starting, like, you know, really trying to ramp up my sales career. That's what I did in my car. You know, every time I started to sense that I was feeling that overwhelmed feeling, I would. At first, what I did was set an alarm for every hour that just said, check your breath, you know, because it takes something at first to make a new habit, right? I started doing that every hour. It then next thing you know, you really start to. To notice how you're feeling inside. Every time that alarm goes off, do that conscious breath for one minute, two minutes in between appointments. And then the more that you do that, the more you really start to feel it. And then eventually the beautiful thing is it becomes something that happens on autopilot. You're basically training your body. When you are starting to feel overwhelmed, when you are starting to feel stressed, your body Will just know I'll catch myself randomly doing breathing exercises without even realizing it sometimes. And sometimes that's because people are kind of pointing it out to me, like, oh, I see you taking some deep breaths there, you know, so it's really beautiful how the body will start to work with the mind once you kind of really get into partnership.
Yeah, I often forget to breathe, which is interesting. Like, I hold my breath a lot.
Oh yeah. Because that is really what we, what we do, you know. And like with personal trainers, they're always having to tell you when you're straining, your tendency is to want to hold your breath and lock everything down, you know. And so that really, that hour, every hour reminder, every time I would check in with that, honestly, my breath was very shallow or I was barely breathing, you know, and so I started to really put those pieces together. Oh, I'm checking in with my breathing, it's shallow or I'm holding it and I feel really stressed, you know, so like you just start to really get these subtle signs and then eventually you can embody a practice that continues to bring you back home throughout the day. And that can lead to so much transformation on its own. Yeah.
Extraordinary.
The other thing that we can do with life being so busy is, you know, one of the things that I would do in the beginning of my, my journey would, as soon as my alarm went off in the morning, I would ask myself the question, like, do a body scan and just ask how does my body feel? And just lay there for a couple minutes feeling, you know, is there a soreness somewhere, did I get enough sleep? That kind of thing. And it's just a quick little body scan that could be done in the morning or in the evening or even throughout the day when you do your little breathing check ins. So life being busy is something that I hear a lot. But there are a lot of things that we can do within our busy life. And in fact, there are a lot of things that we do even in our busy lives that are actually counterproductive to our productivity and our success. So we could just swap some of those things out with simple things like breathing, body scans, stretching. You know, I would often stand at my desk once in a while and just kind of shake, right. If you ever see the, the nature videos with the, the lion chasing the gazelle, there they go into that fight or flight mode. It's a useful mode. They have to escape. But once they're done, if you watch them, they actually shake their body and take a breath. Wow. Shaking is actually a Very powerful practice that I learned that can also be done anywhere. The beautiful thing is all the embodiment practices are. Are done with your body. All these things that are already attached to you and with you every day. So taking a moment after maybe a stressful call, I'm sure you've had those standing up and just bouncing and shaking your arms. I mean, if you do that a couple times a day, you'll. You'll feel the difference in your body. And it just brings you back here and prepares you for whatever your next task is.
Wow.
And then what happens if I feel resistance? So this is a big one. This is actually what I work with a lot of women on, is there. There tends to be resistance when we're doing something in any personal growth, spiritual growth journey, right. We've all come up against that. We're going to a class. And so what resistance actually is, is. It is information. It is something within us that is showing us what can be or wants to be worked on. And sometimes when we have put on all these different layers of masks or like I spoke about before, we've suppressed certain parts of ourselves that end up kind of becoming fragmented parts of ourselves. It can be uncomfortable to start to re. Reintroduce and reintegrate those parts of ourselves. So oftentimes the resistance shows up because what our subconscious mind likes to do is keep us safe. Well, anything that feels vulnerable may not be safe and could show up as a form of resistance. And the way that I always look at this is anything that is a resistance, maybe it's a. Like a numbness or a, you know, a thought, like wanting to run, not wanting to work on this, or some kind of sensation in the body or an emotion that's coming up that feels unpleasant. I. I see all those things as these almost like little parts of ourselves that are coming up that want to be loved back in. Right. So the more that we can offer those parts of ourselves instead of this kind of condemning parent that we usually have been doing, like, stop that. You're not supposed to cry. You've got too much to do. And shoving that away, if you did that to a child, that would be a horrible thing, right? And so when we start to kind of shift this view as these. These resistances coming up within us that are just parts of ourselves that want to be loved back in and being able to create this kind of almost conscious parent to those parts of ourselves that just need a little bit of love. That is often how I tend to view resistance and those kinds of Things do come up when you start to do deeper work with yourself. So that's always something that I work with someone. It's very careful how you deal with resistance because the more you push things, the more you resist what you resist persists. Right, right. The more we feed these things with resistance, emotions, sensations, objections, the grow, the bigger they they get. And they can actually sit in our system until one day we explode or we shut down or, you know, all kinds of different things could happen. Sickness, illness. So resistance is something that we really need to treat with respect and love and kindness and grace. So I love that. Yeah.
And then the whole, like, you know, deserving and receiving it all, it's all connected. Right. Whether it's, you know, wealth financially, but it's wealth in relationships, wealth in energy, wealth and vitality, wealth and like, wealth can be measured in so many different ways. But it comes down to. It's interesting because I've been having lots of conversations with women about what does it look like to graciously receive.
And.
Where are we graciously receiving from ourselves.
Exactly.
Let alone anybody else. Right. And if that gracious receiving isn't happening, like, how is it that you're expecting, you know, this abundance to flow into your life?
Absolutely. So, yeah, it's any area. And, you know, one of the things I noticed when I first started really taking a look at myself was how often I rejected even compliments. Wow. You know, and then when I really got to dive into how I was speaking to myself and realizing I would never speak to another person that way, and so started working on those things and it can be uncomfortable. At first, I remember practicing receiving compliments. It was uncomfortable to just say thank you. Wow. Instead of, oh, no, no, it must have been that, or oh, I just got lucky, or, oh, this whole thing, you know, and just being able to sit and be in that. And the resistance that did come up around receiving compliments was something that I got to really give to myself, was to just hold myself in that, allow myself to receive. And the more we practice that, of course, the more that that begins to be attracted in our lives in all areas.
Yeah.
So it really is a spiral effect. Everything is connected to everything else. It's not just relationships or wealth or, you know, it's all so connected. And it, I think it, it all starts with how we are, how we are being and how connected we are to ourselves.
Right. So, yeah. So I love this, this slide here about the truth.
Yes. The truth is you already have the wisdom. I do love that because There is nothing new that comes in. Right. Like, there is this knowing this within the cells of our body of these. Of these things and how to be. Be in that way. Like we were born that way. There is a no. There's a no. The thing is, when we're learning something, it's really not like information going in. It's like something being activated from the inside. Yeah. And it isn't about just learning. It's about. For me, anything that I've learned has not been nearly as powerful than things that I've actually gotten to experience. And I. I believe that a lot of these blockages that we have are all just layers that we've put on top of our own inherent knowing that we. Right this. This wisdom, this. This ancient wisdom. So I. I do love that, that the. That you already have the wisdom, because I spent so much of my life seeking, you know, and really it was more about clearing and release.
Exactly. Clearing the limiting beliefs. You know, we always talk about that. Nobody gets out of childhood unscarred, you know, and it doesn't matter what happens to us. What matters is what we choose to do with it.
Right.
And it's the, you know, could we allow it to, you know, haunt us for the rest of our life or take it and learn from it and catapult forward? Right. Like, you know, I went to 13 different schools. I was born to a teenage mother, and I went to 13 different schools. And I didn't learn to read till I was in the eighth grade. But I got straight A's because I learned very quickly. They didn't want you to think. They just wanted to get the right answer. So I became extremely resourceful and resilient. Right. So could I be resentful that I had the childhood that I had or be grateful that it taught me to be, like, really resourceful and resilient? Right. So it's like it's taking that, that incident and then shifting it into something that actually serves me versus disempowers. Right. The societal conditioning around women and money, I mean, it literally is within our generation. Like, in 1986, it was a woman needed to have a note from her husband to use a credit card.
Wow. That was 1986.
Yeah. It's our generation and people aren't aware of this.
I had no idea.
Our generation, the societal norms around money and women and everything are being transitioned, and it's like understanding the impact of that. Less than 3% of all investing is done by women. Right. But yet women's portfolios statistically outperform men's, because our hemispheres are connected. Right. And we're connected to all those things. And the more that we're grounded and in our body and in our spirit and, like, listening to our intuition along with all the things, the data, the metrics and everything, I mean, it really is extraordinary what women are able to do, like, not only grow their family's portfolios, but now, you know, again, talked about this a lot, that when a man makes a million dollars, he goes out in profit. He goes and buys toys, which we love toys. But when a woman makes a million dollars profit, she pours it back at her family and community.
Absolutely.
Making the difference, because that's how we're wired, is to make that difference. And so listening to that and leaning into that and, you know, again, that's the whole, like, nervous system and pattern. And is it scarcity that we're feeling? Is it abundance that we're feeling and getting into that place of gratitude so that we can receive graciously and not be in that scarcity place, but be really in that abundant abundance mindset and really be connected to our bodies and our community and our environment and family? Like, all the things are all connected and giving ourselves permission for so many decades of, you know, being told, you know, all the bad things about, you know, women being too emotional to this, to that, it's like, stop. Like, the power of a woman's emotions and her intuition really is extraordinary when it's tapped into and used in the most extraordinary way. Right. So that truth and that wisdom are huge. And so that's what I love is, like, you know, with you and your. What are they called, your retreats that you do?
Oh, yeah, the women's retreats. Yeah. So you have fireworks going off behind you. It's so funny.
Apparently if I wiggle my fingers, I have fireworks.
Okay. I was gonna say, how did you know the retreats were, like.
I have no idea.
Yeah, the retreat, I don't know. You know, one of the. One of the. The things that I find is women don't really sometimes see the value in being able to just go, unplug, be with other women and really just have. Give themselves the time, attention and the energy enough time to kind of disconnect from that go mode and from serving, because we are programmed to be. To serve our families and our communities and a lot of the times, put other people first and to be able to go to the women's retreat and just be nourished by other women. As you take a look Inward, and you have this safe space to share, and you can really start to explore some of these things like we talked about. Are these childhood limiting beliefs something that I have bought into, or is it something that, like you were saying, I can reframe, and now that I have the awareness of it, it does not need to control my reality anymore.
Well, and here's the thing I can see, the power of your retreats is like, for me, for instance, like, I didn't grow up with, like, healthy role models inside of what it looks like for, you know, a woman to take care of herself and, you know, all of that. And so going to retreats and literally have it be modeled for me about what that actually looks like. I mean, it literally was a game changer for me because. Oh, that's what it looks like, because I literally had no frame of reference.
Same here. And the first retreat or two that I went to, I felt this almost. I had to get over that kind of, like, guilt feeling or that kind of awkward feeling of feeling like I'm not doing enough right now, like, what is this? You know, so. But once you kind of go past that discomfort of something new, that always can show up, you can. I became addicted to that feeling. Right. And nourishing others and, you know, the value of sisterhood. I. For the longest time growing up in my life, I was a solo lone wolf. I didn't have a community of women. In fact, you know, when I met you was when I first started. Really, like, I was. I was searching for that.
Right.
Since then, have really built that and seen the power of community, community of women supporting. And it's just beautiful things.
Yeah. It's critical. And then, yeah, it's the. And then giving ourselves permission and encouraging each other to continue to evolve into the woman that, you know, were designed to be. Right. Like, loving and irresistible and just again and making the difference that we're here to make.
Yeah. You know, and it's such a refreshing feeling to feel women not just being friends. Right. Yeah. Really seeing each other and, like, moving each other towards success, whatever that looks like for them, you know, and it's. You know, we're oftentimes kind of pinned against each other in competition, and once we can let go of that, it just is such a beautiful and powerful thing to experience. Right. Love the retreats. We get to dive into all of that there.
Which leads into, like, why are we doing all of this? You know, anybody that follows me understands, you know, again, money is like oxygen. The more you have, the easier it is to breathe. And the more you have these you can breathe, the bigger the difference in the world you can make. So are you not breathing because of finances? The fear of not having enough, not knowing, like, all of that. So getting grounded in our bodies and being present to that so that we can lean in and pay attention to, like, wait a second, you know, like, what are the things that we can be doing to build that wealth? Because at the end of the day, you know, if. When we. When a family has a minimum of seven streams of passive income, it gives them breathing room for when any of the five Ds hit death, divorce, diagnosis, downsize, being dumped. And the reality is, is that life is going to hit, you know, we're all going to experience one, if not multiple, of the D's. Right. And so having that breathing room financially, along with the breathing room physically, spiritually, like, it all absolutely matters and it's all connected, right?
Yes.
So this is the, like, the ability to master. And to me, it's like going to the gym and doing it, like you said, like the. The muscle memory of doing it again and again and again. When we do that and we give ourselves that gift, like, now, the legacy that we get to build is huge for our family, but it starts with us.
Yeah, Right. And it's a whole. It's. And it's everything connected. It's a whole system. So getting pieces going, like, I just got your playbook and just started diving into that. And I'm really excited because that is the sector that I would like to put some energy into at this time. So I'm really excited that we've reconnected and we're kind of piecing together how this all goes together in this life.
Because it's all connected.
Yeah.
Yep, Absolutely. So, you know, again, this, like.
Create.
A picture for them around this with the whole. Imagine. Imagine this a full life. What does that look like?
Oh, you. Oh, me? Paint a picture. Yeah. Okay. Just imagine a life where you are waking up, feeling calm in the morning, knowing what your body needs, whether it's a stretch, whether it's a walk, and just being able to move throughout your day, really being guided by this intuition of what. What feels good. Right. And who to call and who to connect with. And then seeing those things turn into successful experiences or collaborations, and also feeling good, feeling like you move through the day, feeling all the sensations on your skin, feeling just this overwhelming love in your heart as you sit at L Lunch across from someone and really just kind of milking all of the Deliciousness out of all of the minutes that we have in every day. And then feeling this sense of like, clarity, you know, and safety. I mean, to walk through the world feeling a physical and emotional sense of safety and then allowing that to guide you into all of your decisions, whether it's your finances, whether it's your relationships, and just feeling like everything flows through you. Right. That to me is success and wealth.
Yeah.
That to me is the path of, I mean, who wants to enjoy life down the road, right. By that time, we may have broken ourselves down so that we can't even enjoy it and we may have, you know, missed out on relationships that could have truly been fulfilling. So just imagine a life like that where you're just enjoying life while hustling, while succeeding, while doing a legacy for your family.
And it takes intention. Right. So I want to honor everybody's time. So at this point, do you have anybody who has any questions? I know a few people watching. If anybody has questions, put them in the, the chat. And I know, like me, like, I'm a deep thinker, if I have questions later, I think that being able to reach out to you and contact you and have maybe a deeper conversation might be helpful for people.
Right, Absolutely. So you can schedule a quick call, connection call with me on my website, Neva Love. I also created a breath work meditation that you can download from there. And I will be adding a, an embodiment journal prompt in case, you know, deep thinkers like you want to just really go back and be with some of these questions and see what the wisdom of their body brings forward for them.
I love it. So what we'll do is we'll put those links in the, the description, so when they are and in the emails, the follow up emails as well, which is really great. So, yeah, so you're not here by accident. Like, that's the thing. If you're watching this, listening to this, like, I want you to understand, we get you, we hear you, we've been there, we are there. Right. And to understand that, you know, you are powerful, you are worthy. And the question is, you know, are you ready? I start if you are. It's. You're here because of that. And this was the right time to hear Tuesday's message. And then of course, this message, you know, time for you to connect. Connect to who you truly are, you know, so again, I love this image because this is literally like how you and I met.
Yes.
Yes.
And I am so forever grateful for that.
Right.
Thank you.
So. So yeah, if any closing words you want to leave our guests with?
No, just that we are here. We are here to elevate each other. Because I really do believe that when women come together and women heal, they will heal the world in all ways. So any way that I can be of assistance, and I am here.
I love that. And so you can connect, people can connect with you to your website, which I love. It's me, V, A, A dot love L O V E instead of dot com dot Love.
How freaking cool is that? Yeah, I love that. I found that.
So beautiful. So, Mary, thank you. Thank you for the work that you do. Thank you for all the, you know, beautiful women that you touch and for the ripple effect that goes into their. Their lives, their families, their communities. Like, this work really is critical. So I'm excited for your retreat that you have going on and all future ones and for the healing that just comes from all of that. So thank you for being here. Thank you for sharing what you shared. And again, I want to invite everybody and encourage them to reach out to Mary and have a conversation, because you never know the power of one conversation and where it could absolutely go and how it could impact your life forever. So, Mary, thank you for being so extraordinary, honey.
And thank you for everything that you're doing in the world.
Absolutely. So we're going to definitely be doing more of these and deeper dives. All of these. I don't know what it all looks like, but again, it's all connected. So we're going to keep diving deep into all this. So with that, thank you. Mary, you're extraordinary. I love you. I appreciate you.
You have your day. Okay, you too. Bye.
Love.
