A short YouTube episode (Halloween-themed) from Titan Impact Group’s series recounting a fix-and-flip that was vandalized just before listing. Catherine describes how intruders punched holes in newly painted walls and splattered leftover paint across finishes; neighbors identified the culprits (local kids), police were called and charges were pressed. Hosts use the story humorously and emphasize practical advice for investors (e.g., set the alarm).
Hey, everyone. Steve and Catherine, the queen of cash, here with Titan Impact Group. We see the light at the end of the tunnel. Catherine keeps telling me not to go towards it, but I can't help it. This series is almost over. We've got two more left. This is Haunted Stories from Hell. Story number eight, fancy painted in a corner.
So this is a fix and flip that we were working on. It was a cute little house and it had taken us several months actually to get this project in particular done and get it approved. And so we were right at the very, very end. We were getting ready to actually get it listed and somebody forgot to turn the alarm on. And the next day when the realtor went to go list it, we discovered somebody broke in and had kicked and punched holes into all the brand new painted walls and then had taken the cans of paint that we had left over and literally splattered them all over the walls, the brand new carpets, the floors, the countertops, everything. It was a nightmare.
I just would have called it a Jackson Pollock and made all kinds of money on that house.
The good news is, is that the neighbors had actually because the kids had all gossiped. Turns out it was a couple of kids that were across the street and three houses down. So somebody ended up ratting them out. We called the police, of course, again, the boys in blue got them involved and ended up having to press charges and deal with these kids anyway. So when you're dealing with your real estate investment properties, make sure you set the alarm.
Hey, you know the good thing about investing? Nonprofit. Nonprofit. Wow, it is getting late. The best thing about investing in non performing notes, believe me, there's a lot of profit. The only color of paint you're going to be dripping in is green. Did you see that segue? That was fantastic. Let's see you save us from that one.
