A short transcript of a Halloween-themed real estate anecdote where Titan Impact Group recounts encountering professional squatters in a vacant fix-and-flip in Las Vegas. The incident required police involvement and led the speakers to start installing alarm systems on vacant flip properties as a preventive measure.
Steven Catherine here with Titan Impact Group. Haunted investment stories from hell. Story number six, the squatters. Uh oh. Uh oh. Trick or treat. Feast your eyes.
So this was back in our flipping phase of our real estate investment chapter of our lives. And what had happened was we actually had a bunch of vacant fix and flips that we were in the middle of doing. And this particular one actually was up in Las Vegas. And turns out that Vegas, Nevada actually has squatters rights. Little did we know. Anyway, some squatters had moved in. They moved into our fix and flip that was vacant and were attempting to put the utilities in their name because then that gave them even more rights. Anyways, as always, we had to get the boys in blue involved, and they showed up. And it was a process to get these people out. But wow, people. Actually, this is what they do. They're professional squatters. Who knew? Well, we now know. So what that led to was actually putting alarm systems in every single one of our fix and flips that we were doing, even if they were vacant. At least you know, it helped keep the squatters out.
Who left the squ. No.
Right.
