A short transcript of a site discussion about sewer line elevations and trenching for a mobile home park project. The speaker explains that the city sewer line on the road sets the lowest elevation, that gravity-fed systems require sufficient pipe pitch, and that insufficient pitch (due to the city line depth) could doom the project.

All right, so Katherine wants me to tell you what's going on here. So look, you know, the facts of life are, you know, death, taxes, and crap flows downhill. Okay? So the city supposedly has sewer lines right here on the road. Okay. Which means whatever depth that the, the city line is, that is the lowest point. So if it's a gravity fed system, you know, we'll go ahead and we'll use 8 inch pipe, which is on 8 inch pipe, what you've got is that you've got a lot of air on top. So you don't have to pitch an 8 inch pipe nearly as much as you do like a 3 inch or 4 inch pipe. So a 20 foot section of 8 inch pipe, you can, you only have to pinch it, pitch it maybe an inch and a half. And so if this is the lowest point right here, then the rest of the park has to be higher than that lowest point. So that's why we, we just, we just trenched a little road. This is not travel worthy by any means, but it, it just clears the path for the city to come out and to mark everything so that we know what we're looking at if this, if this fails, if there's no way that we can, if our pipe be sticking out of the ground, you know, an acre out. Yeah. This project's dead before it even starts because there won't be enough pitch to hit the city sewer line, and that'll be that.
