A 22-year-old roofing contractor couldn't sell because customers thought he was too young. He hired an experienced salesman, promising him better money than he'd make alone, while he ran the crews. The move worked.
You know how hard it was to go out and sell roofs to people and look like I was a baby face like they immediately judged me, like, no, come on, kid, you can't do this. I'm like, no, you don't understand. I'm the owner of the company. And then something happened. I realized that I need to hire a salesman. So I went and got went went and found a guy that was struggling with his company. And I told him, I said, I will make more, you'll make more money in a year working for me than you're going to working for yourself. Come work for me. Come sell roofs for me, because I can't sell them. I can run the cruise, but I can't sell the jobs. Because when I went out on the job, I was 22 years old. I made, I made these guys run as fast as I did.
