Hi, it's Robin Sharma. I'm here in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. It's a little bit of a gray day, but what a beautiful, beautiful city. I'm in my hotel room, so welcome to it. I'm just being very informal here. I delivered a three hour presentation for the Entrepreneurs organization yesterday in Vancouver and I was really delighted to share my ideas on what it takes to be a world class entrepreneur. The productivity habits of the best entrepreneurs and ultimately how do you build a fast growth company with, while actually cultivating a better lifestyle. A lifestyle where you have more fun and more balance. And I wanted to share the 11 obsessions of remarkable entrepreneurs with you because I shared a lot of the ideas with them and I wanted to offer them to you so you can multiply your profits, build a truly great small company while creating a truly exceptional lifestyle. So I'm going to dive right into the first of these 11 obsessions. And they are obsessions. They're not maybes, they're not possibilities. These are the 11 things that the best entrepreneurs in the world, what I call remarkable entrepreneurs, are doing on a daily basis because consistency is the DNA of mastery. And these are the things they're doing on a daily basis to create their breakthrough business results in terms of profit, in terms of brand, in terms of impact, in terms of client wow. As well as creating a great lifestyle. So with that brief introduction, the first obsession of remarkable entrepreneurs is they understand that the quality of the practice determines the caliber of the performance.
So really what makes a great entrepreneur, what makes a great athlete? For example, I'm here in the city of Steve Nash, the NBA. Great is not just what you do on the game, it's what you do before you play the game. And as you know, you're an athlete if you're in business, if you're an entrepreneur, you're an athlete. When you get to work, it's showtime. When you get to work, it's the performance. When you get to work, it's, it's the game of business. And what defines how well you play is really what do you do before you get to work? What do you do before you hit the stage, so to speak. And it's the quality of your practice. And one thing the best entrepreneurs, and I've had the privilege over the past years to work with some truly world class, billionaire level, genius level entrepreneurs. And one of the things they all had in common is they have a protocol, I call it the pro athlete protocol, where they prepare themselves mentally, physically and emotionally before they walk out into the world. There is a stunning competitive advantage. There is a stunning growth in your confidence levels. When, while your competition and the rest of the world is asleep, you're preparing yourself, what do you do? You get up at 5 o', clock, you take an hour for yourself and what do you do? The first thing you do is you exercise. Why? That will jump start your metabolic rate. It'll give you more energy through the day. And entrepreneurs understand their primary asset is energy, not just time. So get on the treadmill or workout or do some sit ups or go for a walk. That will get your metabolic rate going because then you'll have energy through the day. It'll also release endorphins through your body, which are the body's naturally occurring opiates. They will actually make you feel happy. And happy entrepreneurs are effective entrepreneurs because you will telegraph your emotions and your energy and your passion to your team, to your suppliers, to your customers, to everyone around you. Once you've done your workout, find some time in that hour to learn to read. Because learning is the antidote to disruption. Learning is the antidote to change. If you really want to win in your small business, you want to double sales, triple the amount you invest in your learning. I have to say that again because it's so important. If you want to double your sales, triple the amount that you invest in your professional development and your own education. So you out learn your competition, so you out your competition. So you outperform your competition, by the way, that you play.
