Buy More Of This To Get Rich

This YouTube monologue (May 9, 2024) by Myron Golden argues that the most valuable purchase one can make is buying back time. He frames this through a biblical reading (Ephesians 5:14–16), explains four stages toward wisdom (ignorance → knowledge → understanding → wisdom), and gives practical tactics to "redeem the time": prioritize time over money, use automation and technology for leverage (YouTube example of thousands of hours of attention), delegate tasks (hire help part-time → scale payroll), and collapse timeframes (Parkinson's Law) to increase productivity and life experiences. The talk mixes scripture, personal biography, and actionable business/life advice.

Hey, what do you spend your money on? Like, what do you buy when you buy things? Let me ask you another question. What are the most valuable things you buy? Because if you want to be a millionaire, you'll buy this, and you'll buy this above all other things. In fact, I bought a lot of stuff in my life. I bought houses, I bought cars.
Private jet charters, private yacht charters, clothing, jewelry, blah, blah, blah. I'm telling you, none of that stuff is anywhere near as important as this one thing that you must buy. If you're serious, not curious about creating wealth and generational wealth for your family. It's the most valuable thing I've ever bought with money. It's not a car, it's not a jet charter, it's not private.
Access to anything. The most valuable thing I've ever bought in my life. In fact, before I even tell you what it is, I'm going to read something to you. Ephesians, chapter 5, verse 14 through 16. Here's what it says. Wherefore he saith, awake thou that sleepest arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that you walk circumspectly. Now, I got a problem.
Because, like, my mama never said, boy, you better walk circumspectly. My daddy never said, boy, better walk circumspectly. So when I read that in the Bible, it's the first time I ever see the word circumspectly. What is that? Well, the word circumspectly means wisely. Walk wisely. Okay, so walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. Oh, there it is. How do I do this? How do I walk circumspectly? How do I walk? As a wise person, not as a fool, by buying this next thing. And what's the thing? Here's what it says. Redeeming the time because the days are evil. I'm going to get into the word redeem. But we know that if you redeem something, you're buying it, right? Going to get into that in a minute. So. But before it said redeeming the time, he, like, he shook us up a little bit. He said, wherefore? He said, awake. Wake up. Stop going through life asleep. Wake up. It's time for us to wake up. There are four steps to waking up that are mentioned in this passage. We got to wake up from drowsiness. That's. I don't know how you are when you're drowsy, but sometimes, like for me.
So I Have two different sides of drowsiness, right? I've got the I'm at the end of my day drowsiness.
Which I could pretty much fall asleep in the middle of a sentence, right? In fact, I was doing a conference call. Before we had webinars and stuff, we used to do conference calls. Like we used to do. Like we called them teleseminars. And.
I did one every Tuesday night at 9pm it was called the Hour to Empower. And I did it for years. And I'm just. 9 o' clock for me is late for me to be doing anything other than slowing my brain down and getting ready for bed. Like, people say, oh, like I'm going to this fundraiser on Saturday night. And it said, after party starts at 10 o'. Clock. Well, I'm gonna be. No, it's 10 o'. Clock. There's no after party in the world. There's nothing social that's going on in this world for me at 10 o' clock at night.
No. I'm busy getting ready to turn into a pumpkin. Y' all leave me alone. Y' all leave me alone. Okay. No. Okay. Anyway, so I'm doing this conference call.
My own conference call, where I'm teaching people. And I fell asleep while I was talking.
Had a dream that my brother Dwayne and I were playing golf.
And I woke up from my.
With a phrase, good shot, Dwayne.
He made fun of me for years. He said, you all of a sudden started just like. You just started, like, fading away. And then all of a sudden you were gone. Next thing we know, you talk about good shot, Dwayne.
It's so crazy. Anyway, two sides of slumber. So I got the one that's at night, slumber. Then I got the morning. I'm awake, but not quite awake. I'm up. Like, I'm getting up and I'm like, like, like, I'm like, I'm awake. My decision has been, my intention has awakened my body and my mind ain't sure. So I got that. Okay, so what the scripture is telling, wake up from our job. Like, what can you do when you're that sleepy? You're useless. You're mentally useless. We need to become alert. We need to become aware. We need to become. We need to be. We need to have some sensory acuity. Okay.
So.
Wake up from drowsiness. He says, awake thou that sleepest. In other words, you're going through life like you don't even know that. Like, there's this thing at the end called death. Stop dodioting through life.
You're not on a cartoon, bro. This is like real life. It's time to wake up, okay? Wake up from drowsiness. Wake up from downtroddenness. He said, awake thou that sleep us arise. Do you know what's really interesting? There are so many things, so many times in the Bible that when a miracle took place, Jesus or one of the apostles said, arise.
It's so important for us. Yeah. Jesus rose from the dead. It's so important for us to understand that sometimes life gets heavy and we find ourselves under the weight of life. And it might be under the weight of the relationships in our lives or under the weight of. Of the financial responsibilities in our life. It might be under the weight of our health or the health of a loved one, or the loss of a loved one. But sometimes life just feels so heavy. And it feels so heavy. Sometimes it feels like the weight's never going to stop. Right? How many. I know what I'm talking about. But the scripture is telling us get up. Why is the scripture telling us to get up? Because God made humans to be above the not to be beneath. How you doing? Okay, under the circumstances. Why are you under them?
When did you decide they were bigger than you?
Because I read in Scripture. See, if you don't believe what God says about you, you don't know who you are. Do you understand that? Like, either you believe what God said about you or you believe what somebody else said. I happen to believe what God said about me. I know I'm awesome. Why? Because I'm made in the image of an awesome God. I know you're awesome. And guess what? I don't have to be more awesome than you. How cool is that? I am not in competition with you, and you're not in competition with me. Even if you think you are, you're not.
Why? Because you can be awesome, and I can be awesome. Why? We're both made in the image of God. And he gave each of us a different aspect of his awesomeness and a different aspect of his creativity.
And so it says in Psalms 8. It says, what is man that thou art mindful of him, the Son of man, that thou visitest him? For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels and has crowned him with glory and honor. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands. Thou hast put all things under his feet. Arise. It's time for us to get up off of the.
Sickbed.
Of mistreatment. They mistreated me my whole Life, okay, It's time for you to stop it.
But they. They don't think I'm smart enough. It doesn't matter what they think. It only matters what God says.
Okay? I came to Christ when I was 16. My life changed in ways that I could not describe for the better.
From that time forward, my life was not in a good place.
My life was any like. I was not a good person. I was not even attempting to be a good person. I had no intention whatsoever to be good. That was not even like a thought. I think I'll do something good today. No, I'm just going to do whatever I want to do today.
Thank God for good parents.
But I came to Christ when I was 16. And I went from this person who would steal from you, cuss you out, and if you said something to me about it, I might beat you up. I went from that guy to.
This guy who now, all of a sudden, I'm dealing with somebody bigger than me.
Right? The God of the universe. And he's got expectations. So now I gotta quit tripping.
Right? So by the grace of God, we were able to go to Christian school. My last two years of high school. The church that had the school, when I went there, I brought more people to that church during the time I was there than any other person there, including the pastor. Like, I was out witnessing to people. Like on the daily, but especially on the weekends, I had a bus ministry where we'd go pick up the little kids on the Sunday on these school bus, take them to church and do children's church. Like, I was all in.
And when I graduated from high school and they had this big award ceremony. A table not quite as long as this room is wide, all these trophies on it. And I'm graduating. I'm one of two graduating seniors, me and my little brother. Okay. He was the valedictorian. I was all the other Torians. Okay?
Okay. I was the Torians that made the valedictorian possible. Okay, so we graduate. All these people get awards. I get one award for those two years I was in that school. I got none the year before, But I was new. I didn't expect anything. I wasn't really expecting anything this year, but I kind of was. I'm graduating from high school and I put my life into this place. They gave me a little pill bottle that was about this big. Like. Like prescriptions come in that said most likely to get on your nerves award that somebody wrote with a magic marker, like a little pipe cleaner thing that they turned into earmuffs that they put it over the bottle.
That was it.
That's what my Christian school thought of me.
Am I going to live under that for the rest of my life? I had polio as an infant. Kids made fun of me.
My whole life. I don't want you to feel sorry for you. Don't feel sorry for me. Please don't feel bad for me either. It was all good. It didn't feel good, but was good. How can you say it was good if it didn't feel good? Well, because. Because the things that we have to go through are the things that make us strong enough to stay there when we get there. If I wouldn't have gone through those things, I wouldn't know how to have empathy for people who are going through things. Their things are y' all tracking anyway so I can. I can layer that. Nobody thinks I'm smart enough. They don't think I'm athletic enough. I got this brace on my leg and I'm most likely get on your nerves. And I'm kind of. My personality is kind of, you know, obtuse.
I shouldn't really laugh at that part that hard. I'm not that obtuse. Sheesh, Pete, what's that? You can laugh now. Yeah, that was way too soon. Okay, so, so, so, so I could live under the weight of that my whole life if I wanted to. Or I can just say I am who God said I am and everything in my life was ordained by the sovereign God of the universe.
Before my grandmother was born.
And I think God made a mistake. I must be some kind of delusional. So just get up. Just rise up. Rise above your circumstances.
He says, wake. Rise up. He said, arise from the dead. That's the dead. You know what dead is? You know what dead is? Dead is the faith.
Of millions of Christians. Dead faith.
Why you call it dead faith? Because faith without works is dead. And their faith has no works. They talk about stuff they believe and don't do anything about it.
I believe this and I believe this. Hey, if you really believe it, hush.
Let your actions do the talking.
See, I believe the Bible, okay? Do you believe it enough to read the entire thing and let it mean what it always meant and say what it's always said? Or do you have to read something into it to make yourself more comfortable?
Well.
Do you believe the Bible enough to love your enemies and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you? Do you love. Do you believe the Bible enough to do that? Do you Believe the Bible enough to be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake, have forgiven you. Do you believe the Bible that much? It's easy to believe the Bible when the only Bible you're believing is the stuff the preacher's preaching on Sunday morning.
Right, because I'm donting the don'ts and I'm doing the do's. Yeah, but you're just don't. The don'ts that the preacher talked about.
Why don't you get your face in that Bible and let the Holy Ghost give you some don'ts? Oh, stop.
I gotta go on. Because this is not even. This is if you want to be rich by this. Okay, so I'm going to get there.
And then.
We have to wake out of drowsiness, downtroddenness, dark deadness and darkness. What's darkness? Confusion. You know why we're confused? Because we don't light up our lives with the truth and the light of the word of God. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. What does that mean? Means the word of God shows us the path. It shows us where to place our feet. It shows us where to go. It illuminates obstacles in the way.
Okay, so it's time to wake up, but it's also time for wisdom. Now, when I say it's time for wisdom, I think there's a lot of confusion in the world. There's a lot of confusion in the church. There's a lot of confusion everywhere about what wisdom is.
People think wisdom means smart, be wise. That means be smart. Well, there are a lot of smart idiots.
Like smart fools. They know all the facts and they don't know any of the truth.
Well, I wish I had some.
Say. What do you mean? They know all the facts and none of the truth. So I'm gonna give you four, four phases or the four steps to wisdom.
Starts with.
Ignorance.
Congratulations, you were born with it. Okay? Ignorance. What is ignorance? Ignorance is the absence.
Of truth.
That's ignorance. Absence of truth. You don't know the truth, so now you're ignorant. You're ignoring the truth because you don't even know what the truth is. Okay, well, we have to graduate from ignorance. We have to gain some knowledge.
Oops, Knowledge. What is knowledge? Knowledge is the accumulation of truth.
The accumulation of truth. Okay, the accumulation of truth. Accumulation of truth is knowledge. So I learn a bunch of truth. So here's one of the big problems within modern day Christianity, what I like to call Churchianity.
People.
Know what the Bible says.
And have no idea what it's saying. So they know the Logos, but they don't have any rhema from the Logos. They don't have any understanding. They don't have no idea what it means. They have no. They know what God said, but they have no idea what God is saying and what he has said. And knowledge is the accumulation of truth. Now here's what's really cool about truth. Truth is the master key to freedom.
Did I say that too fast? What does it mean? Truth is the master key to freedom.
It says, then Jesus spake unto those believing Jews, those Jews that were believed in him. If you continue in my words, then are you my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth. You shall know the what truth. And the truth shall make not set make. The truth shall make you free.
Okay, what do we learn when we read that? There's a whole lot of stuff we learn when we read that. Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Okay, here's what we learned.
Any area of our lives in which we are not free is an area of our lives in which we don't know the truth. We either don't know it because we're unaware of it, or we don't know it because we're not practicing it. We either don't know it cognitively or we don't know it characterly. Like, we don't know it in our cognition, or we don't know it in our character, but something's missing. So cognitively, that's the word, not that other thing I said. Okay, so knowledge. What comes after knowledge? Ooh, this one's so good. In fact, I'm gonna change the color for this one. This is so good. We have understanding.
I like the word understand. A lot of people say I overstand, but I like the word understand. Do you know why? Because understand denotes a foundation. There's something under me that I'm standing on. So it's foundational. Okay.
So understanding. What is understanding? Understanding is the assimilation of truth.
Now, I'm not just collecting truth assimilation. I'm not just collecting truth. I'm.
Assimilation of truth. I am comprehending the truth that I've collected. I don't just know what it says. Now I know what it means. Can I give you all some good news? Like some great news? This is one of the most mind blowing verses in the Bible.
They that seek the Lord, understand all things.
Wow.
They that seek the Lord understand all things. Why? Because how does Seeking the Lord help you understand all things. Because he's the Lord of all things.
And he understands all things. So when you're seeking him, he will reveal things to you that you're not going to find out any other way. Isn't that exciting? Like, what did David say? I have more understanding than all of my teachers because thy precepts are my meditation.
That's great. He said, I have more understanding than the ancients. Why? Because his precepts. God's precepts are his meditation. They that seek the Lord understand all things. The reason. Like, if you're going to reject God, you're not going to come to the conclusion for the truth. Because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Like, you got to start with something. And if you start with eliminating God, all you're going to end up with is foolishness and death. That's how it works. It's not a new thing. Okay, and then the last one is we finally get to wisdom. Wisdom is not a degree.
We have a lot of derelicts with degrees. Okay, what is wisdom? Wisdom is the application of truth.
Just because you know it ain't wisdom. Just because you understand it ain't wisdom until you do it.
Not wisdom. In fact, you could add one more, and that's foolishness. What's that? The abandonment of truth.
Okay, the scripture says it's time to wake up and it's time for wisdom. Now let me ask you a question. Does God desire for us to be wise or does he desire for us to be fools? You tell me. Talk to me, my peeps. Wise. Is there anybody here who thinks that God desires for us to be fools? So all of us agree that God desires for us to be wise. Okay, cool. So let's get down to the last one. Here's what the scripture says that we will do if we are wise. Redeeming the time. Because the days are evil. The word redeem means to buy back or buy up. So I'm supposed to buy back my time? You want to be a millionaire? Here's what you do. You buy back your time.
Interestingly enough, in prioritization, the priorities of rich people and the priority of poor people are opposite. What do I mean by that? Poor people. I know some people are going to disagree with it. But if you sit with it for a minute, it'll marinate. Okay?
Poor people value money more than they value time.
And poor people waste a lot of time to save a little money.
And because Poor people value money more than they value time. Poor people work a lot of hours to make a little bit of money.
I'm keeping it a little bit too real now, aren't I? But rich people, I'm going to tell you what we do. We value time way more than we value money. Not a little more like insanely. More like we obsess over not wasting time.
It's like a level of obsession that most people think is ridiculous. But I'm going to let them think what they will.
By the way, I'm going to show you. I'm going to tell you some things that you can do, some specific things you can do to buy back your time that are going to blow your mind. And there are simple things that you can do.
And.
Those of you who are wise, see what I did there? You won't wait to start doing them. Some of you will just decide, I'm going to do it now. I'm going to start before I think I'm ready. Because I'm going to tell you something about being ready. Almost everybody is ready before they think they're ready.
So redeem means to buy back. That's one. So I did a word study on the word redeem, redeeming the time because the days are evil. Okay? So it means to buy back or buy up. It means to ransom your time.
So in other words, like, someone stole your time, they kidnapped your time, and now you're gonna pay a ransom to get your time back. Wow.
Like the word study thing will change your life, right? So my time is so valuable that I'm going to take this money and I'm going to pay this money so I can get this time back in my life. Why? Maybe because time is the stuff that life is made of. Maybe it's because when God established this realm for us to experience life in, the first part of the established was time. Genesis 1:1. God created the platform. What's the platform in the beginning? That's time. God created the heavens, that's space, and the earth, that's matter. So God created time, space, and matter, but he created time before he created space. And he created time before he created matter. What if.
You valued time more than you valued space?
What if you valued time more than you valued stuff?
How would that change your life? Here's the answer, I believe, is the answer. Drastically.
It would change your life drastically. So ransom your time then. Here's the next one. Next definition in the word study. To rescue from loss. I'm going to rescue my time from Loss.
So the purpose of time is to use it. So what's the message in this? When it says, redeem the time, Use it or lose it. But in order to use it, oftentimes you gotta buy it back. You know why you gotta buy it back? Cause you already sold it.
And you know why you sold it? Because you heard somebody say a truism one time that wasn't true. And you may have heard it a bunch of times. Time is money. Time is money. Wow. That's a lie. Time is money. How many of y' all have heard that before? How many of you said it before? I've said it before. Right? But how many y' all know there's no universe? In fact, I'll prove it to you. Tell you what I'll do. Anybody here would like me to give you, like, a million dollar check? Million dollar check, like, today. Like, it'll clear. It's fine. It'll clear. Okay. Okay. Or a million dollars worth of Bitcoin. You like that? Would you rather have that million dollars worth of crypto. Cash. Crypto, whatever. Give you a million dollars? I'll give you a million dollars today. But there's one caveat. You have to end your life today. Now. Who wants it? Oh, I don't see any hands. Why? Because intuitively you already know that time is more valuable than money. You don't even know that you're not gonna die tomorrow. You don't even know that you're not gonna die today. But here's what you'd rather do. You'd rather take your chances on living than get a million dollars and check out. Why? Because intuitively you already know that time is more valuable than money.
So since you already know it.
Why not start living like it? There's an idea whose time has come. We flush money down. I mean, we flush money. We flush time down the toilet by the hour, wasting it on stuff that doesn't amount to anything for our lives or the lives of anybody we care about. Real talk.
But the scripture says I'm supposed to rescue it from loss. Myron, what do I do? When I bought back this time, I paid a ransom for it and I rescued it from loss. What do I do with that time? Here's the next part of the definition, by the way. All of you have access to a Strong's concordance. If you don't just go look it up, like on the Internet, like, what is. What are the. Like. Give me the interpretation of this passage. Like, you'll. You'll find the definitions they're there. Here's the last one. You ready? Improve opportunity. What?
I'm supposed to buy back my time, ransom it, rescue it from loss, and improve my opportunity? Hmm. Isn't that fascinating that God, in his infinite wisdom in the New Testament, not just in the Old Testament, but in the New Testament, is telling us that it would be beneficial for us to value time more than we value money.
Okay? Because when I value time more than I value money, it shows that I'm wise. So let's look at wise. Let's look at what the scripture says about wisdom.
This is in Proverbs, chapter 8, verse 14. Counsel is mine and sound wisdom. I am understanding. I have strength by me. Kings reign and princes decree justice. So wisdom and understanding bring leadership.
Cool nobles, even all the judges of the earth. Okay. I love them that love me. And those that seek me early shall find me. Oh. So if you're looking for wisdom and you're looking for understanding, and you're looking for knowledge early, the scripture doesn't say you might find them. It says you will.
So maybe if you haven't found wisdom and understanding yet, maybe you haven't looked long enough yet.
Anybody else here? Like a heavenly choir singing right then? Or was it just me? Then it says in verse 18.
I ain't coming by myself. It didn't say it like that.
That's the essence. Here's what it says. Riches and honor are with me. Yea, durable riches and righteousness. You can have durable riches, riches, wealth at last, and righteousness.
It's in the Bible.
And then it says, as if. Like, as if that's not enough.
My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold. And my revenue than choice silver. That's pretty cool. I lead in the way of righteousness in the midst of the paths of judgment, that I may cause those that love me to do what? Inherit substance and I will fill their treasure.
That's relatively clear. If relatively means extremely.
The scripture is telling us what to do. And I get it. I don't care about money. If you'll lie about that, you'll lie about other stuff.
Because you working 8 to 12 hours a day for it. You talking about you don't care about it. Somebody somewhere lie about something.
So, Marion, you told us to buy back our time. How do we do it?
We do it through automation.
What's automation? Tools, technology.
Things that save you time. They can do the work for you. They can save you the time of doing the work, but you still get the work done. Technology.
Like, can you Imagine, I don't know. We probably have a thousand people watching on YouTube right now. Can you imagine how long it would take me to go talk to all thousand people individually?
But I got this leverage called YouTube and the Internet. Just talk.
Wow. And it reaches today? It'll reach in the next 24 hours. It'll reach 15 to 25,000 people in the next 24 hours. I couldn't do that manually. So what did I do? I leveraged my time. It's interesting. So one of the things on my YouTube studio, I like to ask people a trick question. See, I even warned you that it's a trick question.
How many hours are there in a day?
24. Okay. You're like, it's a trick question. I know that, but it can't be 24. But that's the only answer I know. Right? Okay, so I knew that's where you were going. Okay, so how many hours are in a day? So 24.
Unless it depends on whose day. What does that mean? Well, so this is how much technology has helped me collapse time frames. Are you ready? So.
I'll do Yesterday. Yesterday was May 8th.
Yesterday. Even though there were only 24 hours in that day, people around the world spent 12,036 hours listening to me yesterday.
I bought back 12,000 hours yesterday. There was only 8,400 hours in a year.
Isn't that crazy?
I got like a whole year's worth of attention a year and a half worth of attention yesterday.
Leverage through technology. Okay, how about this? In the last 28 days.
People have. That can't be right. Okay, I'm going to assume it's right. Okay, it seems pretty insane. Okay, so.
I'm pretty sure it's eight. Okay, so.
24 hours in a day. Okay, 24. So I'm going to do some math here. So 24 hours in a day. So 24 hours times 365 days equals 8760. So I said 8400. 8760 hours in a year. Okay, so we got that number. So in the last 30 days, though, people have spent 364,000 hours listening to me. 364,290. I'm just going to do 360. 4,000 364,000 divided by 8,760.
So in the last 30 days, people around the world have spent 40. 364,290. I'm Just going to do 364,000 364,000 divided by eight thousand seven hundred and sixty.
So in the last thirty days, People around the world have spent 41 years listening to my voice, watching my videos. In the last. That's. What's that called? Redeeming the time. Literally got 41 years worth of work done in the last month.
You redeem the time through technology.
It's mind blowing, isn't it? Automation, huh? Yeah, that hit me, too. That hit me, too. So you have that, okay. But you buy back your time not just through automation, but you buy back your time through delegation.
So this is gonna be hard for you to do unless you get to the place in your life where you just absolutely love the people and use the money.
And you get to the place where you can graduate from that and you use the money to love the people.
But if you love the money and you use the people, you'll never get to where I'm about to talk about. So you gotta love the people and use the money. Here's what you do. You find the thing in your life. If you don't have a business, the thing in your life. The thing in my what? My life that I have to do, that I hate to do.
But it has to get done.
And I pace. I hire somebody to do that thing for me.
Or it's the thing that I have to do and I'm not good at. Hence I hate to do it right, and I'm not good at it, but I'm gonna pay somebody to do it. You say I can't afford to hire somebody. Okay, you can afford to hire somebody. Like some of you. How many? How many of you? The thing for you, that thing when I say that is cleaning your house, like, for me, Like, I am. I am a human tornado.
Like, I can. No, I'm not the. I'm not. I'm not. No, I'm not Mr. Clean. I'm not that kind of tornado. I'm the opposite of him. I'm his. I'm his arch enemy. I can walk into a room and make a mess so fast. And it's not intentional. It's just like I'm so focused on what I'm doing, I can make a mess faster than anybody you've ever seen in your life. Okay? So for me and my wife is very neat. Very neat. She's the exact opposite of me. I'm just glad she hasn't gotten tired of my mess. Okay? So. But.
I don't want my wife to just walk around cleaning up my mess all the time. So I hired a housekeeper, lady cleaning lady. She comes Cleanse house three days a week. When you hire somebody, you don't have to hire them for it. They don't have to come in like 40 hours a week. Hire them for one day a week. Myron, I can't afford to hire somebody one day a week to clean my house. Good. Hire them one day a month.
It'll free up so much time, energy and bandwidth. And if you're married, it'll give you some time for you and your spouse to sit down and look at each other all googly eyed.
Right?
I'm just telling you, like, if you don't like cooking, hire a chef or go out to dinner. Like just go out to dinner. Myron, you can't go out to dinner every night. You can't go out to dinner every night.
My daughter got me a pillow that's on my couch in my office and it says my favorite thing to make for dinner is a reservation. I am not confused and I know how to cook. But then you got to clean. And if I cook, it's going to be messy. It's going to taste good. Now you might make a mess eating it. It's going to taste so good. But then I got to clean it up. I'm like, it's not even worth it to me. So find somebody who's good at what you're bad at or who loves to do the thing you hate to do and hire them for one day a week. They will free up so much mental bandwidth on that day. And if you do it in your business, like all of you business owners who think you can't afford to hire somebody, you can't afford not to hire somebody.
If you don't hire any. Like if you hire an assistant to just answer emails and messages on your social media and phone messages, like we get so much communication. There's no universe in which I could re. If I did respond to everybody, that's all I would do. I would get nothing else done. But people have to get responded to. So guess what? We have delegation. We have people on the team. That's what they do. How cool is that? And then guess what? I get to pay them some money so they get to earn a living and they can eat and live and I don't have to do the thing, but it still gets done. Like you can buy back your time through delegation, buy back your time through automation. I promise you, you will shock yourself, okay? You will shock yourself when you start delegating and paying somebody else to do stuff that you're not good at. Or stuff that you don't like.
So I've been like, over the years, I've been very slow to hire.
And I remember like Lorinda was my first employee employee and she lives in North Carolina.
And she called me one day, she was a client. She called me, she said, I want to work for you. I said, that's good because I ain't hiring.
Now we understand each other. She said, that's okay, I'll work for you for free. I said, okay, we'll see. And it just so happened. Ryan, you can appreciate this. That stripe shut my merchant account down the week before this happened.
Okay? Shut my merchant account down. They gave us five days to move everybody to a different platform.
I said, here, I gotta change all these people over to this platform that are in this membership site. This is how you do it. If you do that.
You know, I'll think about it. But I'm not, I'm not paying her for this. She's outdo it for free.
So she's doing this thing. The next day I wake up, I got like emails at 2 o' clock in the morning, another one at 4 o' clock in the morning. I'm like, I can eat live and I don't have to do the thing, but.
What are you sending me emails in the middle of the night for? And she was just showing me her progress. Still gets done. Like you can buy back your time through delegation, buy back your time through automation. I promise you, you will shock yourself, okay? You will shock yourself when you start delegating and paying somebody else to do stuff that you're not good at or stuff that you don't like.
So like, why are you sending me emails in the middle of the night working on stuff like I am? There's no, you know, I'm not gonna stay up and work all night on anybody's project. Not mine, yours, my next door neighbors, Nobody's Nighttime is for sleeping. For me anyway, she gets the thing done in three days. I thought it was impossible. I literally gave it to her because I wanted her to quit and leave me alone.
I wasn't planning on hiring her. I wasn't. I'm just like, okay, this will make her go away. Because it would have certainly made me go away. She completed it. I'm like, okay, how about you work for me one day a week and I pay you a hundred dollars?
That's how it all started. Freed up some bandwidth, said, okay, what's I've been like over the years, I've been very slow to hire.
And I remember like, Lorinda was my first employee. Employee, and she lives in North Carolina.
And she called me one day. She was a client. She called me, she said, I want to work for you. I said, that's good because I ain't hiring.
I'm going to take for you to work for only me.
Not all these other clients. Now we understand each other. She said, that's okay. I'll work for you for free. I said, okay, we'll see. And it just so happened, Ryan, you can appreciate. She said, well, thousand dollars a month.
She said, my house is paid for, My car's paid for, My mom's house is paid for. I did all that when I was in corporate America. Pay me a thousand a month. And I said, I can't pay you a thousand a month. That'd be wrong. And so I paid her a little more than that. Very little more, but a little more. But I paid her. And I told her, I said, look, here's the thing. I don't want to hire you. And then four months from now, I have to fire you because we're not making enough revenue. Very transparent. Appreciate this. That stripe shut my merchant account down. The week before this happened.
Okay? Shut my merchant account down. They gave us five days to move everybody to a different platform.
I said, here, I gotta change all these people over this platform that are in this membership site. This is. I was very transparent with her. I don't want to do that.
This is how you do it. You do that. Because I've been rich with a lot of expenses and had it all go away in what felt like overnight. I'm not going to do that again. I'm not going to do it to me again. I'm not going to do it to my family again. I'm not going to do it. I'm going to play as far away from the edge as I possibly can. So. So eventually it worked into more money, but I started out 300 a week.
Because that's what I was comfortable with.
And now our payroll is mechanical. Ish. Yeah, you know, I'll think about it, but I'm not. I'm not paying her for this. She. She's out. It's more than that.
Right? It's probably closer to 30,000 a week.
Do it for free.
So she's doing this thing. The next day, I wake up, I got like emails at 2 o' clock in the morning, another one at 4 o' clock in the morning. I'm like.
What are you sending me emails in the middle of the night for. And she was just showing me her progress. But that happened because I hired one person part time. That turned into one person full time. That turned into two people full time. That now turns it to whatever we have now, 15 people full time.
You follow me? Why are you sending me emails in the middle of the night working on stuff like I am? There's no. So you don't have to start out hiring somebody full time to do whatever and then have to figure out work for them to do. Just hire somebody for one day a week to do the thing you hate the most and you're not really that good at.
It'll change your life for the rest of your life. Delegation automation. Collapsing timeframes. How do you buy. I'm not gonna stay up and work all night on anybody's project. Not mine, yours, my next door neighbors. Nobody's nighttime is for sleeping. For me, anyway, she gets the thing done in three days. I thought it was impossible. I literally backed time by collapsing time frames. Collapsing time frames means there's a principle called.
I gave it to her because I wanted her to quit and leave me alone.
I wasn't planning on hiring her. I wasn't. I was just like, okay, this. I'll remember the name of it, but.
It'S called the something make her go away. Because it would have certainly made me go away. A fact where a project will expand to fill the time allotted to it. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Anyway, I don't remember what it's called. Anyway, so called some kind of effect that a project will expand to fill the time given to it. Okay, so one thing that you can do to buy back your time is to decide that you're going to do whatever you were going to do in the next year. Do it in the next month. Whatever you're going to do in the next month. So you completed it. I'm like, okay, how about you work for me one day a week and I pay you $100. Do it in the next week. Whatever you're gonna do in the next week, do it in the next day. Whatever you're gonna do in the next day, do it in the next hour and see how much more.
That's how it all started. Freed up some bandwidth. Said, okay, what's it gonna take for you to work for only me.
Not all these other clients? More productive you will be. We waste a lot of time just from a lack of. She said, well, thousand dollars a month intensity.
So become more hyper. Intentional. And I think what you'll notice is that things will change for you. So that's. That's how we went from a place where we were just, you know.
She said, my house is paid for. My car is paid for. My mom's house is paid for. I did all that when I was a corporate American, regular, small business. I guess technically we still are a small business, because I don't think they don't. I don't think they consider a business big until it's doing, like 50 million or something a year. I don't know. Anyway, Parkinson's Law. Thank you. Thank you, Tim. So it's called Parkinson's Law. A thing will expand for the time allotted to it to fill the time allotted to it. So, like, collapse your timeframes, Decide I'm going to get this done faster. And some people will think you're in a hurry, and some people will think you're rushing, but what you're doing is you need a thousand a month. I can't pay you a thousand a month. I'd be wrong. And so I paid her a little more than that, very little more, but a little more. But I paid her and I told her, I said, look, here's the thing. I don't want to hire you. And then four months from now, I have to fire you because we're not making enough revenue. This is very transparent. You're just. You're aware of the fact that.
The Grim Reaper is headed your way. Like, we're dying. You are expiring. I'm expiring. I was very transparent with her. I don't want to do that.
Well.
I didn't tell you this, but I will tell you this. We all know, at least we've all heard of the time value of money, right? Like, how much is a dollar worth? Depends on at what rate of return and how long is it invested. That's what determines how much a dollar's worth, right? So we know that time has the ability to make money more valuable. Here's what nobody ever taught us that money has the. Because I've been rich with a lot of expenses, ability to make time more valuable.
And had it all go away, what felt like overnight. I'm not going to do that again. I'm not going to do it to me again. I'm not going to do it to my family again. I'm not going to do it. I'm going to play this. What does that even mean?
It means.
That as far away from the edge as I possibly can, so. So eventually it worked into more money. But I started out $300 a week.
Money is one of the tools that we use to create unique experiences in our lives.
And if you live for 40 years and do the same thing for 40 years, a lot of people say, well, I have 40 years of experience.
Probably not. You probably have two weeks of experience repeated over a 40 year time period.
However, because that's what I was comfortable with.
And now our payroll is me, Santa Clara. Ish. It's more than that.
Right? It's probably.
The quality of one's life is not measured closer to 30,000 a week.
Measured by the number of years of experience they have doing a thing. But the quality of one's life is measured by the number of experiences we put in our years.
And we can put more experiences in our years and more experiences in the years of the people we love when we have more money. So we buy back our time by filling our lives with experiences. But that happened because I hired one person part time. I heard Jim Rohn say this a long time ago and it made so much sense to me and it made me become hyper aware of every moment of every day. He said, if you take one vacation a year and you live for another 20 more 20 years. You don't have 20 years of vacation, you just have 20 more times that turned into one person full time, that turned into two people full time. That now turns in.
And I thought, wow.
So I owe to whatever we have now 15 people full time.
You follow me? So you don't have to start out hiring somebody full time to do whatever and then have to figure out work for them to do. Just hire somebody for one day a week to do the thing you hate the most. And you're not only have a certain number of times to do a totally that good act.
It'Ll change your life for the rest of your life. A thing.
So I might as well squeeze all the juice out of it every time I do it.
And guess what happens? Maybe if vacations are your thing, if you start making twice as much money, maybe you can take twice as many vacations and then you can live 40 years worth of experiences. Vacation experiences in the next 20 years. Delegation automation. Collapsing time frames. How do you buy back time by collapsing time frames? Collapsing time frames means there's a principle called.
I don't remember the name of it, but.
It'S called the something. Oh snap.
What if you took four vacations a year? You can live 80 years of vacation experiences in the next 20 years. So you can see clearly how money has the ability to make time more valuable. Because we can use our money to affect where a project will expand to fill the time allotted to it. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Anyway, you put more experiences in our years. Vacation is just one example of that. But what other examples are there? Many. There are many. Like how many more times would you go see your parents who live in a distant state? Or your children or your grandchildren who live in a distant state? If you had more money, you could collapse time frames. If you were only seeing them once a year, you'll live for 20 more years. You get to see them 20 more times. But what if you go see them five more times per year?
I don't remember what it's called. Anyway, so called some kind of effect that a project will expand to fill the time given to it. Okay. So it just changes the whole dynamic of life.
So see that? One thing that you can do to buy back your time is to decide that you're going to do whatever you were going to do in the next year. Do it in the next month. Whatever you're going to do in the next month. You walk circumspectly not as fools, but is wise redeeming the time because the days are evil. Buy back your time, ransom it, rescue it from loss. Improve your. Improve your opportunity. Why? Because the days are evil. When it says the days are evil, it's not talking about evil like the devil is evil. Do it in the next week. Whatever you're going to do in the next week, do it in the next day. Whatever you're going to do in the next day, do it in the next hour. And see how much evil people are evil. The word evil in that verse means difficult in nature.
So it's saying be wise, buy back your time, ransom it, rescue it from loss and improve more productive you will be. We waste a lot of time just from a lack of. Improve your opportunity because life is hard.
Wow. Intensity.
So become more hyper intentional. And there's some advice for you.
And I'm telling you, if you want to be rich, I think what you'll notice is that things will change for you. So that's. That's how we went from a place where we were just, you know.
The thing that you will do is buy back your time. So you like J. Paul Getty can say I would regular small business. I guess technically we still are a small business because I don't think they consider it rather have 1% of the efforts of 100 people than 100% of my own efforts.
Hope this helps. Go buy back your time. You. You'll be glad you did. Thanks for watching. Peace out. Club Scouts.
Business big until it's doing like 50 million or something a year. I don't know.
Parkinson's law. Parkinson's law. Thank you. Thank you, Tim. So it's called Parkinson's Law. A thing will expand for the time allotted to it to fill the time allotted to it. So, like collapse your timeframes, Decide I'm going to get this done faster. And some people will think you're in a hurry, and some people will think you're rushing, but what you're doing is you're just. You're aware of the fact.
That the Grim Reaper is headed your way. Like, we're dying. You are expiring. I'm expiring.
Wells.
I didn't tell you this, but I will tell you this. We all know, at least we've all heard of the time value of money, right? Like, how much is a dollar worth? Depends on at what rate of return and how long is it invested. That's what determines how much a dollar is worth, right? So we know that time has the ability to make money more valuable. Probably not. You probably have two weeks of experience repeated over a 40 year time period.

The quality of one's life is not meas.
