Clegg explains how parents can teach kids entrepreneurship by having them sell simple products like rocks, flowers, or bulk candy. Young sellers have a real advantage: adults will buy from them to encourage their effort. It's a window to earn money and build savings before that goodwill fades.

Late great Jim Rohn used to say, children can do remarkable things. That is, if they have remarkable things to do. One of the most remarkable things that you can teach your children to do is to become entrepreneurs. They can sell rocks, they can sell flowers, they can go to the store and buy candy in bulk from Sam's Club and then knock on doors and sell it. They don't have to be selling it for their school. They can be selling it. I'm selling candy for. To build my college fund. And so you teach children what they should do under the supervision of adults is to go out and learn how to sell products. And then what you do is they go out and sell the product. I've got news for you. If you're a young person, you're under the age of 15, 16, 17, you're younger than that. All the way down the age 4 or 5, adults will buy from you to encourage you because you're doing something good. You have an advantage as an entrepreneur child that you will not have as an adult. Don't waste that opportunity. Take advantage of it. Get paid while you're young.
