This is a recorded session (YouTube) by Robin Sharma titled "From Success to Significance." The speaker distinguishes traditional metrics of success (profit, market share, influence, sales) from a higher aim of significance — creating value for others and stakeholders by helping people. He urges listeners (business people and all humans) to prioritize being significant, make time for thoughtful reflection, and mentally rehearse their last hour on their deathbed to align today's actions with a life of significance rather than mere success.

Hi, welcome to this session. It's called From Success to Significance. The old model of leadership, in many ways, was all about success. And I want to be really clear in my communication that I'm not saying that profit is not important. I'm not saying market share is not important. I'm not saying influence is not important. I'm not saying sales are not important. Success is very important. But there's a new way to win in the new world we're living in right now. And this is not only for business people. This is for, I think, any human being walking the planet right now and to shift from being successful to being significant. In other words, the more people you can help, the more significant you can become. The more you can create value for every single one of your stakeholders, the more you will win in the new world that we're living in. So the real imperative right now, not only as a business person, an entrepreneur, an executive, a frontline employee, but as a human being, is to be significant. And I think the best leaders without titles all do one thing in particular, and they do it very well. They make the time to be thoughtful, and they make the time to time to reflect on the last hour of their last day. And you can always go through this analysis and ask yourself, when I get to the last hour of my last day and I'm laying on my deathbed and I'm surveying my life, how will I have wished I have lived? And then fast forward to today and start living today and every day until you get to your last day from a position of being significant, not just being successful. It.
