Millionaire Reveal Habits That Will Keep People Poor In 2025

Myron Golden identifies nine habits that keep people poor: focusing on lack instead of abundance, trading time for money, and chasing fantasies without foundation. He started his YouTube channel in March 2007 and bought a million-dollar house in 2008, later selling it in a short sale for $636,000.

Have you ever found yourself in a rut? Like, you're like, you just keep doing the same things over and over, and you're like, why do I keep doing this? I believe that.
You create your habits, and then your habits create you. And I want to talk to you today about nine habits that will keep people poor in 2025. And if you break these habits or create the opposite of these habits, no telling what you might be able to do. So I'm gonna give you a definition of habit. I'm not just gonna start out talking about it. Got nine habits. We have three focus habits, we have three financial habits, and we have three fantasy habits that we're gonna talk about today that'll keep you poor if you maintain them. All right, here we go. First of all, what is a habit? A habit is a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up, Right? So it's a tendency, it's a practice, something you do repetitively, and it's hard to give up. Good habits, we don't want to give up. But bad habits, whoo, man, are they hard to kick.
Some quotes on Habits 1 by Warren Buffett, which is one of my favorite chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken. That's what Warren Buffett said. Habits are the compound interest of self improvement. That's what James Clear said.
Sow a thought and you reap an act. Sow an act, you reap a habit. Sow a habit, reap a character. Sow a character, reap a destiny. Charles Reade said that your net worth to the world is usually determined by what remains after your bad habits are subtracted from your good ones. That's what Benjamin Franklin said. That's your net worth to the world. Subtract your bad habits from your good ones. That's your net worth to the world. I'm like, Benjamin Franklin was the dude. Okay, so let's talk about focusing habits.
Focus habit number one. That'll keep you poor in 2025. Focusing on lack more than you focus on abundance. Now I'm going to tell you something I've learned, and hopefully you will learn this in 2025 if you haven't learned it yet. Abundance is not the absence of lack, and lack is not the absence of abundance.
Abundance is always present in the presence of lack.
And lack is always present in the presence of abundance. They're both always there.
Now, I would go so far as to say that this is one of the habits that's hardest to break and one of the most detrimental habits.
To all of mankind. In fact, I would submit to you that if you are a responsible adult living in a relatively free country, not even as free as America, like even less free, then I would submit to you that it's virtually impossible for lack to perpetually exist in your experience unless it first perpetually exists in your expectation. In fact, I'm going to make a statement here.
The first temptation in the history of the world was the temptation to focus on lack. Now, if that's true, let me ask you a question. How often do you find yourself focused on what's missing? How often do you find yourself focused on what's missing in your life? How often do you find yourself focused on what's missing in the life of your spouse? How often do you find yourself focused on what's missing in the life of your co workers? How often do you find yourself focused on what's missing in the life of your employer? How often do you focus find yourself focusing on what's missing in the lives of your friends? How often do you find yourself focused on what's missing more than what's there? 50% of the time, 70% of the time, 80% of the time, 20% of the time. Don't say none of the time, because if you'll lie about that, you'll lie about anything. How often do you find yourself focused on what's missing? Because we all fall into the trap. It is one of the primal temptations of of man.
To focus more on lack than we do. Abundance. We're listening to the wrong voice. Okay, so what I'm going to do is go over here, I'm going to go over here and draw you an illustration on my board. Because some of you are wondering, what does he mean that the first temptation in the history of the world was a temptation to focus on lack? Well, the Bible tells us that when God made man, he put man in the garden.
Of Eden. The word garden means enclosure. So the Garden of Eden was a protected place.
So there's protection. And it was the protected place of pleasure. The word Eden means pleasure. So it was a pleasant place. So it was a protected place of pleasure. This is God's ideal environment for man. And then it says, and the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden. And the Lord God commanded the man saying, of every tree of the garden. So there's trees in the garden.
How many trees are there? I don't know. There's lots of them. It's a garden. There may be almond Trees. And there may be fig trees. There may be plum trees and pear trees and apple trees and orange trees and tangerine trees and lemon trees and avocado trees and walnut trees and all kinds of trees in the Garden of Eden. There's all these trees. Yeah, all these trees in the Garden of Eden. Myron's pen. Okay. All these trees in the Garden of Eden. And you've got trees for days. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, watch this now. Of every.
Tree freely eat. There's one of those patterns for you, Tim. Every freely. Let me ask you a question, Every and freely. Are those abundance words or lack words? Abundance. Those are words of abundance. Every. If you. You don't get any more abundance than everything for free. Of every tree in the garden, thou mayest freely eat. That's a level of abundance that none of us have experienced. Right. But it says, but of the tree.
That'S in the midst of the garden, thou shalt not eat of it. For the day thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. So there are two trees in the midst of the garden. One they were allowed to eat off of the Tree of Life. The one they were not allowed to eat off of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. So God said, of every tree, freely eat so. Not so if the. So they're eating off the trees. So we see that not only is the Garden of Eden the protected place of pleasure, it's also the protected place of pleasure and provision.
So that's what's in the garden. Protection, pleasure, provision. It says. And the Lord God formed the man of the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils, breath of life. Man became a living soul. God later put the man to sleep, took one of his ribs out, and he made woman. And now you got Adam and Eve and the Lord God. This is Genesis, chapter 2, verse number 16 and 17. The Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden, thou mayest freely eat. But of the tree, how many is the one?
So Adam and Eve had everything for free, except one thing. What if somebody said to you, you can have everything for free except one thing? Would you say, yeah, but I want the one thing.
Right? That's not what we'd say. Unless, of course, we got distracted. But watch what happens. It says, of every tree of the garden, thou mayest freely eat. But of the tree that's in the midst of the garden, thou shalt not eat of it. For the day thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. Adam and Eve had everything but one Thing.
So guess what? Guess what was in the Garden of Eden? Abundance and lack. And there was more abundance than there was lack. There was an abundance of abundance and a limited amount of lack.
Am I telling the truth? Now watch what happens. It says, now, the serpent was more subtle than a beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, yea, if God said, ye shall not. Oh, snap. You shall not eat of every tree of the garden. So here's what Satan did. The serpent added the word not and took out the word freely. Here's my question. Does that change the meaning? Yes.
Do you find it fascinating that the enemy. By the way, I believe the serpent was Satan. Why do I believe the serpent was Satan? Because in the book of Revelation, it refers to that old serpent, the devil. That old serpent, the devil. In Second Corinthians 11:3, it says, I fear lest by any means, that as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity in Christ. So what that tells me when I read that is the same way the serpent beguiled or tricked Eve is the same way he's going to trick you and me. That was Paul's greatest fear. I, fearless by any means. I'm afraid that just like the serpent tricked Eve through his subtlety, what was the subtlety that Satan used? The subtlety of changing the meaning of words.
That's why there's a war on words. Because a war on words is a war on your mind. How many are tracking? And so. So.
Ye have. God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. Now, Eve did not respond to him. She reacted. She said, we may eat of the trees, fruit of the trees of the garden. She took out the word every and the word freely. Now, I don't know why Eve did that. I know why we do it. I know why we soften the blow when we respond with something that God said because we don't want people to be offended. So I'm not going to say exactly what God said. I'm going to say, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden. That's not what God said. God said, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat. When you take out the word every and you take out the word freely, does that change the meaning? Oh, yeah. Changes a lot. Now, why does.
Satan start talking to her about this tree?
Well.
The woman said, the day we eat there, we shall surely die. The serpent said, you shall not surely die for God doth know that they eat over there and your eyes will be opened and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Well, what do we learn from that? Well, here's what we learned from that. We learn that Satan got Eve to focus on the thing that she lacked. That was the first temptation.
So guess what? I could go into way more. Well, let me go into way more. Just. Yeah, we got time. So I fear lest by any means that as the serpent begotten, you threw a subtlety. So your mind should be corrupted from the simplicities in Christ. How does Satan operate in the lives of. Of people? Well, there are a lot of ways, but in the lives of a believer, there's one way Satan operates. Here's how he does it. By putting thoughts in your mind and making you think those thoughts are your thoughts. If you act on a Satanic thought, believing that it's your thought, then you're going to end up in a place you have no desire to be.
Now then, if that's the case, because where do thoughts come from? Well, they come from ourselves, they come from God, they come from Satan, they come from other people, they come from experiences and they come from memories. Right? So that's where. So you got thoughts coming from all these different places. Would it not behoove us to be able to recognize immediately when a thought is coming from Satan? Wouldn't that not be beneficial for all of us? Okay, so how can I tell when a thought's coming from Satan? I'm gonna give them to you really quickly. Number one. It causes you to focus on discontentment and dissatisfaction. When you find yourself being discontented or dissatisfied, you are listening to the voice of Satan. You're operating based on a thought that was sown in your mind by the enemy.
What's the next thought? Woman said, we may eat the fruit of the trees, of the garden, but of the tree that's in the midst of the garden. God said, you shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die. See, Eve thought, if I don't touch the tree, I'm not going to eat off of it. Satan knew he didn't have to get her to touch the tree. All he had to do was get her to pay attention to it.
Watch what happened. The serpent said, ye shall not surely die. That's number two. This is a Satanic thought denying the destruction of disobedience.
Like you. Here. Here's what. Here's what that thought looks like. Oh, nobody's watching. I can get away with this. They'll never know.
No, but you'll know and God will know. You think you're being sneaky because you look to the left and look to the right, but you forgot to look up.
And so. So we see this over and over and over and over and over and over again. Like when we become dissatisfied and discontented, what happens is we end up losing the blessings that we could have. Right? That's what Achan did when the children of Israel went into the promised land. Right? He was dissatisfied, discontent. God said, don't take anything. Don't take anything from Jericho. It's all mine.
Achan said, well, I'm going to take two hundred and fifty shekers of silver, a wedge of gold and a goodly Babylonish garment. I'll bury it in my tent and nobody will know.
Except the next day. When the Israelites went to battle, they lost thousands of men.
Guess what Joshua did? He started praying.
And God said, what are you praying for?
There's sin in the camp. It ain't prayer time. It's clean up the clock, clean out the closet time.
There's sin in the camp. So anyway, they found out it was Achan, guess what happened. Because so many people lost their lives. They took Achan and his wife and his children outside the camp and stoned them with stones until they died.
All because he was dissatisfied and discontented.
And he denied the destruction of disobedience. You know the biggest. Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a Bible study, so I'm going to keep it moving. But I could but deny the destruction of disobedience. And then it says, he said, ye shall not surely die, for God doth know.
That the day ye eat thereof, then ye shall be as gods knowing good and evil. He wants you to doubt the disclosure of the divine. What does that mean? He wants you to doubt that God has your best interest in mind. He wants you to think that your friends are your enemies and your enemies are your friends. He wants you to be for what's against you and against what's for you. Those are all satanic thoughts. I don't have time to go into more right now. Those should suffice for this week.
So he started talking about this tree to get Eve to start paying attention to this tree. Why? Because the enemy knows where attention goes, intention follows. And so Adam and Eve, they started focusing on this tree. Guess what they had to do to get to that tree? Because that tree was in the midst of the garden. They had to walk past all of this abundance and ignore it to get to the only thing they lacked.
Maybe.
The reason lack seems to be fruitful and multiplying in your life is because you're so focused on what's missing and ignoring what's there.
It's the very first temptation in the history of the world. So one of the things that'll keep you broke is focusing on lack more than abundance.
There are so many opportunities available to all of us. You know what this reminds me of? I'm gonna sit back down. You know what this reminds me of? This reminds me of the fact that I was on YouTube.
I started my YouTube channel March 15, 2007.
Guess what YouTube was doing in 2007. They were paying people for videos. Guess who didn't know. Guess who was totally unaware of all the abundance that was already there. I was there. The abundance was there. I was unaware of the abundance was there. So guess how much of it I got for 14 years? None. Not because it wasn't there, but because I wasn't there. There. Where? There. Aware.
I was not there aware. By the way, you're not there aware. If you feel like you've got more lack in your life than you do abundance, it's because you are totally the more aware of the abundance. The more aware you become of the abundance that you already have, the more abundance becomes available to you. Why? Everything reproduces after its own kind.
So the habit of focusing on lack more than abundance, I'm telling you, you're so focused on what's missing. Here's what you're thinking when I'm saying this right now. If this is you, you're thinking, yeah, it's easy for you to say.
Keeping it real.
You will excuse yourself out of becoming the person you have to be to tap into the abundance that's existed your whole life. You remember the story about Hagar, don't you? She's in the desert. She puts her son under a shrub. He's about to die of thirst in the desert. She starts crying.
And the angel of the Lord comes and says, what you crying about, Hagar? What kind of question is that to ask a single mom in the desert with a child and no water? You know what kind of question it is? A good question. What you crying about for? God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. Go pick him up, hold him in your hands. God's gonna make him a great nation. Go read Genesis, chapter 20. Genesis, chapter 17. You'll see it. It's mind blowing. And guess what it says after that.
God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water, filled the bottle and gave the lad drink.
So her problem was not a lack of water. What was her problem? A lack of awareness of the water. If he opened her eyes and she saw a well of water, what does that tell us about the water? It was already there.
But she's so focused on the fact she's so zoned in on the bottle, which is a whole lot smaller than a well.
That she can't see the well and the well could fill the bottle.
And she couldn't see the water in front of her eyes because of the water that was welling up in her eyes. How often is that you? How often is that me? We're so focused on what's there that we refuse to strengthen the things that remain.
The habit of focusing on lack more than abundance. That's a habit that will keep people poor in 2025. Another habit focusing on limitations more than abilities.
But I'm not good at. And then you fill in the blank as if somebody's going to take out a violin and start playing a sad song for you.
Nobody's good at everything.
But if you have enough cognitive ability to understand what I'm talking about right now, you know enough to learn more.
You're so focused on what you can't do that you're not doing what you can do.
Mmm. I wish I had some help in here. Oh, Lord.
I saw a friend of mine sent me a video of a guy who was working in construction who had one crutch and one leg and he's carrying concrete blocks and unloading the truck. Not concrete blocks, bags of concrete. Unloading bags of concrete off the truck and taking them over there and stacking them with one crutch on one leg and carrying the bags on one shoulder. You know why? Because he was focused on the leg he had and not the one he didn't have.
We're so zoned into what we can't do. How's that helping you? How's that helping you help anybody? And I know it's easy for me to say.
But guess what wasn't easy. It wasn't easy for me to become the person for whom that was easy for me to say.
I've been through stuff just like you.
I was an overnight success. It was a 14 year night from the time I got started as an entrepreneur until I had my first six. Figure year was 14 years.
Say, why didn't you quit? Quit and do what?
At least I was doing something that, when it works, is gonna be good.
See, you'll quit doing something that when it works, is going to be good to go back to do something that if it keeps on working, it's only going to get you more of what you've already gotten.
We in 2025, y'. All. It's time to thrive in 2025.
Focusing on limitations more than abilities you have. Like, do what you can do.
God's not expecting you to do more than you can do. You may have some people in your life that are expecting you to do more than you can do. That's their problem, not yours. But do what you can. Don't do less than you can. I mean, why would somebody do less than they can? Well, it's easier. Yeah, it is easier. It is easier to do less than you can on the front end, but on the back end, it makes your life harder. That's the easy hard principle. Easy on the front end is hard on the back end. Hard on the front end. Easy on the back end. See, when you do things that are hard on the front end, they turn you into a person who can do hard things, which makes your life easier. Because even hard things become easier when you get used to doing hard things.
You know what? I'm learning to love. I'm learning to love exercise.
I'm serious. I'm learning to love. I'm like, I feel so good when I get done working out.
It's like, I did it.
So, you know, for a week, one of the things I did instead of cold plunging every morning, because I love cold plunging. Like, I love immersing my body in this crazy cold water for five minutes or if I have more time, more time. Five minutes is my usual. I love that. It's like I crave it. But, you know, I started doing. I took a week off where I cold plunged at night, and when I got up in the morning, I worked out in the morning.
Why? Because working out for me is harder than cold plunging.
I'm just saying. But I'm learning to love it.
So. Focusing. Habit. Focus. Habit. Number one, focus on lack more than abundance. Focus. Number two, focus on limitations more than you focus on abilities. Focus. Number three, focus on focusing on losses more than you focus on accomplishments.
No, I do understand.
I've had more jobs than most people, got fired from a lot of them and quit the rest.
Right. And guess what? You can focus on what you lost. I remember. And by the way, why am I telling you about my experiences? So you can know I'm not that different than you. I've been through Stuff as well. Like I remember we finally hit our lick and we're finally making some strides financially. And I bought a million dollar house too soon because I was only making about 100,000amonth when I bought that house, which seems like I wasn't making 100,000amonth. My business was doing 100,000amonth. I thought, well that's plenty, right? Till the economy changed.
Then plenty went to not nt. It didn't go. It wasn't quite that bad. But I bought a house for $1,027,000 in 2008, ended up selling it on a short sale for 600 and something. Thousand dollars, I think $636,000 in 2012.
That was 400 grand on that house.
Then my credit was so bad.
That I couldn't buy another house. I had to live in a rent house and I had to pay the first month's rent and the last month's rent and a security deposit because my credit was that bad. My credit was like when I moved to Tampa in 2012, December of 2012 or January of 2013. When I moved to Tampa January 2, 2013, my credit was in the high five hundreds.
It's almost 800 now. The high five hundreds. Well, like I've lost. I lost stuff. My, my 2008 Mercedes S550 got me possessed.
Say, don't you mean repossessed? No, repossess. When they come get it, me possesses when you take it back to them. Where y' all want me to bring this car?
Okay, sorry.
I'm serious. That's what happened. But I didn't focus on the car that I lost.
I didn't focus on the house that I lost, the business that I lost. I just focused on. Okay, what's next? What's next? Now what? I can wallow in the losses or I can chalk them up to experience, put them on my now you know, list and not play that close to the edge anymore.
So.
Those are the focus habits. Now let's talk about some financial habits. The first one, if you're like most people, you're going to have to keep doing this one for a while.
But eventually you want to trade it in for something better. Okay, you ready? Financial habit number one that's keeping people broke is the financial habit of trading time for money. You will always end up on the short end of the stick and I'm going to show you why.
When you are trading time for money.
Time is your most valuable asset. So what you're doing is you're taking your time.
Which is a limited resource. I don't like that. Like that. That was red, wasn't it? Okay, you're going to take your time.
Which is a limited resource.
And you're going to trade that time. You're going to go to work, sell that time for a limited. For money, which. Money is a limited liability. So you traded your time for money. And see, you've heard your whole life that time is money. But that's not true. Time is not money. The actual reality is that time is greater than money. That's the reality. But if you think the time is money, what you'll do is you'll sell a whole bunch of your time for a little bit of somebody else's money. Or you'll waste a whole lot of time trying to save a little bit of money. How many are tracking. And so what you gotta do is, you gotta stop doing this. So what happens is you trade your time and then you take that.
Time for. I said limited liability. This is also a limited resource. You take one limited resource, trade it for another limited resource. But this limited resource is worth less than the original limited resource. Then you take that limited resource and you trade it for a limited liability. Like a car.
It's a really ugly car. Like, why would you pay for that? Okay, so you trade it for. You trade it for a limited liability. So now you've taken this, which is infinitely valuable, trade it for something that is a limited resource, that, because of inflation, becomes worth less over time. And then you trade it for a limited liability, which becomes less, worth less even faster over time. And now you no longer have the time. You no longer have the money. You just have something that's becoming worth less over time. That's why you have to learn how to make money some other way. I'm gonna tell you something. People think that the most valuable thing you get for work is money. Money is one of the least. It's valuable, but it's one of the least valuable. Like when you can learn how to stop just working for money. And you learn how to work to build systems that pay you long after the work is done. Now, here's the problem about building systems that pay you long after the work is done. When you're working to build that pays you long after the work is done. The system doesn't pay you while you're building the system.
And because of the cultural, hypnotic societal mechanism has gotten us so programmed to being addicted to a paycheck.
We will not use our discretionary time to build a system that can Pay us while we're not working.
Like what? Like I wrote this book. This book makes me money. I wrote it one time. I get paid on it almost every day. I might even get paid on it every day. But I get paid on this book almost every day. It's work I did one time. I did the work once. This book is a system. Is what I'm saying making sense.
So the habit of trading time for money, the next one's really hard. The habit of trading money for bills. Now, there's nothing wrong with trading money for bills because that's the only thing they will accept. Like, you can attempt to send the utility company your baseball card collection. They probably don't care, right? I'm being a little facetious, but they probably don't care. They only will accept. You could bake them some cookies. Probably not going to accept that either. Right? They will only accept money. But just because the vendors who serve you will only accept money for payment, that is not a good reason for you to believe.
That the primary purpose of money is paying bills. See, the primary purpose of money is not paying bills. The primary purpose of money is to turn it into more money. It's hard to wrap your mind around, but when you get your mind wrapped around that, the primary purpose of money is turning it into more money. So when I get a dollar, I want to turn it into two. Better yet, 10, if possible, 100. Before I spend any of that original money and I never spent. I call that the mama money. The money that I earn with my work, that's the mama money. The money that it earns is the baby money. I never. I want my money to stay in my possession long enough for it to get pregnant and have some babies. I want to have a money. Maternity ward.
And I never spend the mama money. I only spend the baby money. How many are tracking? Wave at me if you're tracking. Okay, so don't think that the primary purpose of money is paying bills. It's not paying. Like, when you become valuable enough to enough other people in the marketplace, you will make more than enough money to pay your bills. Paying your bills will happen almost as effortlessly as breathing. Okay, cool. The habit of treating. I'm sorry. The habit of trading the future for the present.
You want to flip the script on that thing? What's that called? When you trade the future for the present, it's called indulgence.
When you trade the present for the future, it's called sacrifice.
Sacrifice is when I let go of something of a lower nature. So I can take a hold of something of a higher nature. There are so many people who are. Who sacrificed their future on the altar of immediate gratification and spent years kicking themselves for a few minutes of pleasure.
Mmm. I wish I had some help in here. Oh, Lord. You know what the beautiful thing about things that are valuable is? Generally speaking, they're harder than things that are not. And they take longer.
And see, we become impatient because we're more concerned about what the work does for us than we are in what the work does to us. Hmm. See, when I'm working.
The work is gonna work for me or the work is gonna work on me. If I can learn how to become more obsessed with the work the work does on me than I am with the work the work does for me, my life is going to get better.
Monumentally. And by the way, it may take a while, but guess what? It doesn't matter if it takes a while or not, because the time's gonna go by whether you get better or not.
What if. What if.
When I started my YouTube channel in 2007 and I was on YouTube for 15 years before I turned on monetization, what if over that 15 year time period, I didn't learn enough to become interesting.
On YouTube? What if I wasn't interested enough in learning things that matter enough to become interesting when I realized that YouTube would pay me and start being consistent about it?
You know what I have to do on Mondays and Thursdays? I have to get up before I'm done sleeping.
Like this morning when I got up, I did wake up before my alarm clock went off. I set my alarm for 5. I woke up at 4:40. At 4:04, went to the restroom, went back to sleep, woke up again at 4:54, 4. I'm like, I might as well get up now. But I wasn't done sleeping. I promise you, I wasn't done. I could have got some more out of that rest. I could have got. There was a little bit more in there, but I didn't take it all out to get. No, I'm. I'm done. We getting up now. Why? Because I have already committed to. I had already committed to be here this morning by 8 o' clock so I could go live on the morning meetup and then go live again at 10 o'. Clock. By the way, on Thursday on my Bible study channel, I'm gonna go live at 9 o' clock because I'm gonna teach 25 productivity hacks for 20, 25. On Thursday on my Bible study channel, it's gonna be mind blowing. So good. Okay, so.
The habit of trading the future for the present is a bad habit. Do you know the prime? There are so many primary differences, but one of the main primary differences, whatever that means of. Of successful people, is the willingness and ability to sacrifice the present on the altar of the future.
People who struggle their way through, they're always sacrificing tomorrow on the altar of today, not realizing that when they get to tomorrow, they're going to need tomorrow's resources when they get there.
Okay, y' all get it. Those are financial habits that are keeping you poor. So now let's talk about.
The fantasy habits that are keeping you poor. There's nothing wrong with a fantasy if it's built on a solid foundation and a solid framework for its accomplishment. There's nothing wrong with a fantasy. What is fantasy? Like we're imagining? Like we're imagining. Like, I imagine the courses I'm going to create and the books that I'm going to write. Like, I have so many ideas for books I could write right now and courses that we're going to create in 2025. Right.
But there are some fantasies that cause us to do things that are not in our best interest, in our family's best interest. Like the dream house fantasy. But I've always wanted this house. I've always wanted to have a house where I had like, a pool and a blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And there's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with it. Dream houses are fine. But make sure, like, I personally, you could do it however you want to. I would personally never buy. I would live in a house that's sufficient and stay away from the whole dream house concept until I can afford to pay cash for it. Now, I wouldn't pay cash for it, but I would be able to afford to. Now, I wouldn't pay cash for it because the bank will loan me money cheaper than I can use my own. But if the bottom falls out, I can still pay the mortgage. And if I needed to, I could pay it off. And they ain't coming to take my house. You tracking. So, like, anyway, the fantasy dream house. The fantasy dream car. I've always wanted this car. Great. You've always wanted that car. Drive the car you can afford to drive until you can afford to pay cash for the car you want to drive and not miss the money. And then when you can afford to pay cash for the car that you've always wanted to drive, don't pay cash for it. It'll cost you too much. Invest that cash into something that's going to make you more money. Hopefully. What I'm. It's a different way of thinking like we have. I have a dream this and a dream that.
If I'm going to tell you something now.
If you can't be happy when you're broke.
You ain't gonna be happy when you're rich.
The wealth that you have is just gonna multiply and amplify and magnify your unhappiness.
Now you just got more resources with which to be miserable.
If you like. If you can't be content with a little, you ain't gonna be content with a lot.
We go through life collecting stuff as if it's gonna make you know what. Anyway, that's a different video for a different day.
The fantasy of a dream career. Here's what I found out about all work. All work doesn't matter where you work. Own a business, have a job that you work in your business. You run a business, you have a job, you work for somebody. Here's what I found out about all work. All work has work in it.
And if it didn't, we wouldn't call it work. We call it play.
I wonder why they call work work and play play. Because work is harder than play. And play is oftentimes more fun than work. Now, my work that I do is fun. I enjoy it. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I like sitting down and, and writing the creating the outline and the contents for a book. As much as I like playing 18 holes of golf.
I don't. I like playing 18 holes of golf way more.
I'm just telling you I do. I like playing table tennis way more than I like working.
But the good feeling from the work lasts longer. It compounds the good feeling from the play evaporates way faster.
All I'm saying is these nine habits.
Three focus habits, three financial habits, three fantasy habits. If you keep those habits in 2025, you're going to end up broke as a joke and ready to choke. I would recommend against it.
Do the opposite of These and in2025.
It'Ll be your turn to thrive. Stay blessed by the best. We'll look forward to seeing you on the next video. Bye for now.
All righty.
