Hi, it's Robin Sharma. Hope you are great. Got a great video here for you. It won't take long because I'm out on a long country walk and I need to get back to it with full presence. But I want to walk you through four ideas that I think will be very valuable to you as you grow your empires of creativity and productivity. Prosperity, service to the world. We'll get right into them. The first is captainism. Studies have been done of plane crashes and one of the fatal flaws was the situation where the co pilot knew something was wrong. They saw the instrumentation was off. They sensed or were aware of the problem that would bring the plane down. They mentioned it to the captain. The captain said, no, everything's fine. And then the phenomenon of captainism unfolded where the co pilot.
Disputed their own judgment and didn't trust their own instinct and expertise. And listen to the captain because he or she was the captain. Lesson for you, think for yourself. Do not follow the crowd. Calibrate your own skills. Know your own domain. Develop your own knowledge base. Trust yourself more than anyone else who's a so called expert.
Second concept is opportunity costs. With everything that you do there is an opportunity cost. And I want you to start thinking even more about it.
Business. You let go of someone, for example, they might not be the right person, so that's the right move. If they don't fit with the culture and your vision and your values, there's always an opportunity cost. It's very exciting to think about moving to a new place, for example, new home, new country comes with opportunity costs. Very easy to say yes to a new once in a lifetime opportunity. Huge opportunity cost. Gets you off focusing on the opportunity that you were working on that may have got you to exactly where you always wanted to go. So think about opportunity costs. Next idea. Thanks for being with me on this long country walk. I'm going by an olive grove right there. Next idea is wreath of florals. Ancient Greece, they would put a wreath of laurels from the laurel plant onto the champion to celebrate their accomplishment.
They were advised, don't rest on your laurels. Are you resting on your laurels? Are you repeating the winning formula that got you to where you now are? Because if you are, you could be on the path of irrelevance.
Keep innovating and inventing new products and services. Keep optimizing your routines. Keep on reading. Keep the. Keep on thinking like a white belt versus a grand master. Very important final idea is be a magician. The marketplace rewards magic. So little magic being produced in the world. When you go to a great meal, there's magic and delight. The attention to detail is spectacular. The ingredients were hand picked by the chef with love. If you look at the great consumer experiences and if you look at the great entrepreneurs and the great leaders, they all had one thing in common. They were magicians. So if you'd like to, hopefully that's helpful for ideas. If you'd like to live your magic, if you'd like to have me as your mentor for the next 30 days, I'm willing to mentor you and show you a very powerful.
