Hi, thanks for having me.
So, Claudia, you were in the standout job search program. And can you tell me where were you at in your job search, in your career, in your life before you joined the program?
I was in a very bad place. I was not getting any responses, any callbacks. No one was interested. I literally had no idea if I could ever go back to work. Like, what do I do? Become a volunteer somewhere? I didn't know. And plus, I wanted to do a career change. I wanted to make a career change. And I was lost as to how do I do that, how do I transfer these skills that I've had, these new skills that I've gained? So I was very frustrated.
What were the top three major impacts of the program? Standout job search for you?
For me, it was clarity, community, and courage. It's not just about your resume. It's not about just LinkedIn. It's not just about, you know, connecting with people and network. It's not about that. It's about all. It's such a holistic approach to making that career change or getting the job that you want. And so it brought clarity. I had attended so many, so many webinars and read so many articles. I was on YouTube. I literally did this every single day for eight hours a day, including weekends. So I had read it all and I had tried to do it. Here's the script.
And.
And it just didn't put it together. What I loved about this is just. It clarifies, what are you trying to do, how to convey it, how to position yourself? And also it clarifies what do you want? Like, you really have to. You make us think, what are we looking for? It added community. This was the part that I didn't realize how important and imperative it is. I'm an introvert. It's hard for me to introduce myself. It's hard for me to put myself out there. We had, you know, study sessions every week, and so we had our cohorts, and it was such a safe space and also courage. The tools that stand up gave me, from the templates, from this is how in the point of view, like, how do you see this? You're building relationships. You're the I love you, you love me. You know, you're placing yourself as a. As a professional, as a thought leader. And that just allowed me to say, you know what? Yes, I can do this. This is. If this is the way, then, you know, I have all the right tools. Let me just Go ahead and go out there and get it. And that's what I did, and that's what worked for me.
Within three months of joining the program, you had gotten two different offers. One within, like, the first month, the second one within third. And now you're. Yeah, you're dedicating months, years of your life towards this job, and you elevated your standards. That's something we talked about earlier this week, is like having standards. And you said, yes, you know, I have this employment gap. Yes, I'm changing careers. Yes, I have been searching for months, but I know what I want, I know what I have, and I know what I can get now that I'm part of this program, and I can see my own value. For anyone who is on the edge right now, who's thinking, you know, this is not something I'm used to investing in or whatnot, what advice would you give to them?
What have you been doing and has it been working? If it's not working, then.
You need to consider, yes, this will cost some money. It's an invest. It's an investment. Is it worth spending this money to get results much quicker, much more effective, and get the results that you want.
Sooner than in another year? This is real. It's not a gimmick. It's not. It's not a. Oh, it's easy. Just do this. One, two, three. No, there's a whole process involved. A whole process involved. There's a lot of reflection. There's a lot of thought. You have to do the work. This is not going to be a template. Yes, there are templates, but it's not a template where you just, you know, okay, this is what I want to do, and submit it. It doesn't work like that. You have put in the work. So if you're ready to put in the work and you're honest and genuine and what you have been doing hasn't been working, I say this might be the right option for you.
