A short YouTube monologue (created/uploaded by Clegg, May 29, 2024) that draws parallels between golf and business. The speaker argues both require counterintuitive techniques (e.g., to make a golf ball rise you hit down) and recommends planning by beginning with the end in mind—each action should set up the next.

I love golf, and I love business. And I think one of the reasons I love both of them so much is because they're so similar. There's a thing that Tiger woods says a lot he says feels are not real. And what that means is how what you feel like you're doing is not actually what you're doing. And that's true in business as well. Because in business, if it feels right when you first get started in business, it's probably wrong. In golf, it's the exact same way. Golf is a game of opposites. If you want to make the ball go in the air, you have to hit it in a downward motion. If you want it to go right, you have to hit it swing out to the left. If you want it to go left, you got to swing out to the right. And business is exactly the same way. You have to look at what everybody else in the marketplace is doing and don't do what they're doing, but do the exact opposite of what everybody else is doing. When they zig, you zag. When they zag, you zig. And one of the most amazing similarities to me about golf and business is the fact that you have to begin with the end in mind. Purpose of the thing I'm doing right now is to set up the next thing I'm going to do. I hit this shot to set up the next shot. I don't hit this shot just to hit this shot. And the same thing is absolutely true in business.
