The 5 R's of Grandmaster Performance | Robin Sharma

A short, motivational talk by Robin Sharma (recorded at the Mogul Mastermind in Barcelona) outlining the "five Rs" of grandmaster performance: Reader (daily 60-minute learning), Rejection (reject societal mass-hypnosis limiting beliefs), Reaffirmer (encourage and uplift others), Repeater (daily repetition of winning habits), and Rejoicer (practice gratitude and enjoy simple pleasures). The talk mixes practical habit prescriptions with brief anecdotes and event context.

Hey, it's Robin Sharma. I hope you are great. I've got a high content video for you. I'm here in Barcelona running a live event called the Mogul Mastermind. I've got people from all around the world showing up. Tomorrow is day number one. These are some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world and I'm really delighted to share three days of my life with them. But that's not what this video is about. This video is all about the five part Rs of Grand Master performance. I'm going to jump right into the first R, which is they are readers. Leader who learns the most wins. Education is inoculation against disruption. We live in a world where it's too easy to spend the finest hours of your greatest days chasing trivial pursuits and suffering from what I call broken focus style syndrome. And so the first ARF, grand mastery level performance is really the 60 minute student protocol which is simply one hour every single day. Read. As you read more, you deepen your knowledge base. As you deepen your knowledge base, you can bring more value to the marketplace. As you bring more value to the marketplace, the marketplace replies with a series of rewards, including applause, income, impact, which allows you an even better lifestyle. The first R is reader. The second R of Grandmaster performance is rejection. Rejection of what? Rejection of the mass hypnosis that too many good people are suffering from. The mass hypnosis of society that tells you geniuses are cut from a different cloth. That tells you live in a box. That tells you play small with your promise. That tells you you cannot do your ethical ambitions and you must be reasonable and practical. It makes me think of George Bernard Shaw. He once wrote, the reasonable man adapts himself to the world. The unreasonable one adapts the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man. The third R of Grand Mastery Level performance is reaffirmer. The best of the best in terms of produc. They are reaffirmers of the gift and talents of human beings. They reaffirm the gifts and promise and potential and power of their team and of their family and of their clients. They literally go through their days leaving people better than they found them when they spot an opportunity. I was walking into the hotel this morning after a long walk down to the waterfront in Barceloneta here in Barcelona. And I just ran into the valet out front, I guess they call it the, the doorman and his name is Alberto, and he always has a smile. And we started chatting and he said, did you go for a run this morning? Said No, I, I said I went for a long walk. And he said, oh, I talked to a top cardiologist who said that going for a long walk, it's so much healthier than, than even running. And then I said, Alberto, I gotta tell you, every time I see you, you're smiling. And he goes, well, that's just who I am. And so he was a great example or is a great example of a reaffirmer, someone who always has something nice to say, always is smiling. And I think the job of a leader is to leave people better than he or she found them. Which brings me to the fourth R of grandmastery level performance, which is repeater. So if you look at the greatest athletes, they enter a phenomenon called mundanity. Literally they run the same habits every single day. And that leads them to a place of automaticity where it then becomes easier to do the new habit than not to do the new habit. The new habit would be like getting up early and training, eating well, sleeping properly, etc. So the fourth R of grand mastery level performance is repeater. The best of the best in terms of productivity and performance. Repeat the same habits every single day. It could be my 5am Club 20, 2020 formula, could be the second wind workout that you've read, if you read, if you read the 5am club, it could be the 2 massage protocol, could be the 60 minute student I mentioned earlier in this video. But you want to repeat the same winning habits every single day until they stack up and incrementally unleash a tsunami of results that allow you to dominate your domain and live the life of your highest dreams. And then the fifth R is rejoicer. The best of the best are rejoicers. Gratitude is the antidote to fear, apathy, doubt, disbelief, and so rejoice the simple blessings. When I was walking today, I was breathing and I was rejoicing. Just the simple pleasures of walking down to Barceloneta here in Barcelona, one of my favorite areas. It's where the fishermen used to live and the sailors still go. And I found I go down there and there's a run down cafe and I sit there with the sailors and the locals and I just drink a little bit of espresso and I write in my journal or I listen to music. But these are the simple pleasures that fill my heart and lift my soul with the greatest amount of joy. So Those are the five Rs. I hope this video has brought great value to you and I'll see you in the next one.
