What Are Your Chances of Becoming Rich?

Myron Golden delivers a short Facebook Live/YouTube talk about the statistical odds of becoming wealthy, citing a 45-year study tracking 100 people from ages 20–65 (resulting in ~1 rich, 4 financially independent, 5 still working, 28 dead, 62 broke). He references his book From the Trash Man to the Cash Man, offers physical copies free (ask/inbox) for a $9.99 shipping fee, and promotes a 14-day free trial of his membership site, Bible Success Academy (then $27.99/month). The talk mixes statistical warning, a sales/fulfillment anecdote about high Amazon resale prices, and a faith-based business-training pitch.

Welcome to my Facebook Live. My name is Myron Golden. I am really, really amped about sharing with you just a couple of concepts today. I'm not going to go crazy with some four hour Facebook Live. I might talk to you for 10 or 15 minutes at the most. And I just want to ask you a question. What are your chances of becoming rich? Have you ever thought about that? Like, what are your actual chances? What are the odds? When I think about insurance companies and I think about how they take risk and how they manage risk and how they evaluate the math on how many people at this age will end up having this experience, if it's health insurance, they know that they're going to be profitable. They don't wonder if they're going to be profitable based on the math, they know they're going to be profitable. And it doesn't matter. If you're talking about health insurance, car insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance, it doesn't matter. They already know how much money they're going to have to pay out based on statistics, because statistics over a long period of time tend to end up to pretty much do the same thing. So.
The question I have for you is, have you done the math? What are your chances of becoming rich? And I wrote this book from the trash man to the cash man. How anyone can get rich, starting from anywhere. The first chapter in this book is entitled what are your chances of becoming rich? Back in the 80s, I used to sell financial services. I was licensed to sell life insurance. I was licensed to sell mutual funds. I had a securities License, Series 6, Series 63. And there were some studies that were done and I talk about this in my book and what they did is they tracked 100 people over a 45 year time period from age 20 to age 65 to see how the average American ends up. Do you consider yourself to be an average American? Like, are you average? Are you above average? Well, here's what they found out. They found out basically that there's a grid and the grid basically looks like this.
So one person out of 100 in America becomes rich. That's like, wow, that's, that's not very many. Right? And then four become financially independent.
What happened to the rest of them? Right? And I go into great detail in this book on those numbers. Let me say, in fact, I'm going to look them up because I don't want to get them wrong. Okay, five are still working. So five people at 865, five still working.
Hi, welcome to Walmart. Right. And I'm not making fun of those people because there's obviously dignity and honor and working, but they didn't. Nobody sat down at age 20 and said, I can hardly wait to work my whole life and then end up being a greeter at Walmart. Nope. That was. That was not on anybody's game plan. Right? So.
Five are still working. 28.
Are dead.
Out of 100 people, 28 are dead. 62 are dead broke.
Now, that's mind blowing. Those are mind blowing statistics. Now, the numbers may have gotten a little bit better because we have access to the Internet, but the likelihood is that they're pretty close to the same. I want you to think about the fact that in America, one of the wealthiest countries.
That'S ever existed on the face of the earth, only 5% of the people make it, and 95% of the people don't make it. So if you're looking at the odds, if you're like the average American, I mean, those numbers are scary. I probably shouldn't have showed this to you at nighttime because you'll probably be up all night like, oh, man. Which one of those. What category am I in? Are you in the bottom 95%?
Are you in the top 5% financially? Right. And here's what. Here's what you. Here's what's. Here's what else is mind blowing. As scary as those numbers are, if you read them in a different way.
If these numbers are still hold, if these numbers still hold true, that means you've got a 5% chance of making it financially. Either financially independent or rich, you've got a 95% chance of not making it. Talk about the odds being stacked against you. And the reason I wrote this book is so you could take those odds and stack them in your favor instead of having them stacked against you. Now, what's fascinating to me, I got a call from a friend of mine, Kemp. I'm gonna fix this grid because it's driving me crazy, right? So my OCD is taking over. So. So I got a call. I got a call from a friend of mine from Kemp. He's like, myron, I need to order a box of books. He was talking about this book. He wanted to order a box of Trashman to Cashman books. And I said, sure. He said, yeah, man, my people are tired of paying, like $60 for Amazon. I said, what does that mean? What do you mean people are tired of paying? They don't want to pay $60 on Amazon. My books. I don't sell my book on Amazon for $60. He said, Somebody's selling your book on Amazon for $60. And so I looked it up and sure enough, the lowest price at that time was like $64. I've researched it since and I've seen the lowest price you can buy a physical copy of this book for on Amazon is for like $53. So, like, you don't have to take my word for it. You can look it up for yourself. Right? The highest price that I saw when I first looked was $713. Last time I looked, it was there were people on Amazon selling this book for $800. Now, I'm not telling you that the books. I'm not going to tell you that the book is. I'm not going to sell you the book for $800. In fact, if you'd like a copy of the book, I'm going to give you a copy of this book for free. Like, you won't even have to pay for it. Which I find fascinating because I've been giving away this book for probably about 40 days right now online, and people are still paying 60 plus dollars to get this book. And so I was telling this story to a friend of mine. I was speaking at an event that she and her husband were putting on, and I was telling this story. It was their team room. When I was speaking at their event, she said, oh, yeah, I just bought your book a month ago for my dad on Amazon for $60. Like, what? I would have given it to you for free if you'd have called me. Right? So she said, I just assumed it was out of print. And so if I wanted it, I'd have to buy it on Amazon. So I bought it on Amazon for $60. So I actually know somebody who paid $60 to get this book. They didn't buy it from me for $60. Okay? But there were people on Amazon who sell my book for 60 bucks. So here's what I'm gonna say. Don't pay $60, right? Don't do that. Don't pay 800 plus dollars, right? Don't do that. Get the book for free. And all you have to do is click the link on this video. If this video. If you saw this video shared on somebody's timeline, just click the link in their video. You can get the book for free. If you didn't see this shared on somebody's timeline, like, if you're watching this on my page, on my Facebook page, you can get this book absolutely free. Just inbox me. And the only reason I'm Saying that is because I don't want to give away a link and all that stuff. It'll make it too confusing. Just inbox me and say, myron, I'd like to get a free copy of your book. I'll send you the link. We can get the free book. Now, here's the deal. Here's why I'm giving the book away for free. I am going to ask you to pay $9.99 shipping and handling. But the reality is, if you bought the book online on the website, you'd still pay $9.99 shipping and handling, right? So, like, that's not like, okay, well, I'm not going to sell you the book, but I'm going to charge. I charge 999 shipping and handling. I've been charging 999 shipping and handling for years. So now I'm just saying, instead of paying 19.99 plus 9.99 shipping and handling. And by the way, we sold over 140,000 copies of this book. So I don't need to sell another book, right? I don't need your 999. But if you paid 9.99, I'll ship you this book for free. And in addition to shipping you this book for free, I will also let you try. And the reason I'm going to ship it to you is because I'm going to ask you to try my membership site for free for 14 days. And the membership site is called Bible Success Academy.
