having convos start to finish

John Cordero teaches how to approach women and move a conversation from hello to phone number. He recommends opening with a simple compliment like "I thought you were kind of cute," then gradually shifting from you talking to her talking, mixing in observations and light teasing. Around five minutes in, mention a local spot and casually propose meeting there, then ask for her number while keeping the conversation going.

Today I want to cover how to move the conversation along. A lot of you guys struggle with even starting the conversation, and a lot of it has to do with just having a big question mark on what to say or what to do in the situation. And a lot of you guys are asking, okay, what's the line? What do I say? Can you give me a line? All these different things. And so my answer to you guys is that when you're starting the conversation, yeah, it's good to have a line, and I will give you a line for the very, very beginning. But I am not a fan of keeping going with lines as you go through the conversation because you've got to respond to her in real time. One, it's more real, it's more genuine, and it gives her more to respond to when it's actually something that is relevant to the conversation. So I'm going to give you guys some specifics, and I'm also going to give you some general things to look at because that's what I do when I start a conversation, is I'll start with something specific and then I'll go more general, and I'll actually make it more fluid and custom tailored to the girl that I'm talking to at that moment. So the first thing that I do is I go up to her and I say, hey, I was just walking by and I just thought you were kind of cute. And I'll just say that over and over again. Hey, I was just walking by. I just thought you were kind of cute. Hey, hello, excuse me. I was just walking by. I just thought you were kind of cute. Whatever, you know what I'm saying? Uh, I'll say excuse me if like she's like walking and I'm having to stop her. It's like, hey, excuse me, I was just walking by. I just thought you were kind of cute. And I'll do that. Or, you know, if I just happen to get her attention, then I'll just say that. Okay, so I do say that one quite a bit. I do say that one quite a bit. Yes, that is a canned line. Um, that's good because it brings up the intent. She's not wondering why you're talking to her, and it just gets to the point right away, which is good. Okay, and it also isn't like some crazy intent. I've seen others like, you know, it's like, oh, I was just— I, I just had to stop you because you're just gorgeous. Like, you could say that, and yes, that is intent, but it's almost a bit too much, you know what I'm saying, right off the rip. I'm not crazy about it. Um, I like the low-key showing intent a lot better and then kind of just go from there. So yes, I do that. I show intent. I say hi. Now what's she gonna say after that? She is going to say most likely, oh, thank you. Okay, she's probably gonna say that, or she's just not gonna say anything at all. Okay, so after that, in the beginning of the conversation, you have to carry the conversation. Okay. You have to be the one that actually talks more. And so the way that the scope works is that you talk more in the beginning, and then as she gets invested, she talks and you talk, and it's like this middle ground. And then it goes from she talks most and you're actually replying and responding and guiding the conversation. So that's like the, the flow, okay? And that's how it usually goes. So When I say things like carry the burden of conversation, that's what I mean, is that she's— in the beginning, she's going to be shocked because, especially if you approach her during the day, but it's okay. I think it's good to approach her during the day, but she's not going to be on her A-game on talking to a guy, you know what I'm saying? And so you just have to make that transition easy for her, okay? And so you do that by bringing up the intent, by Getting to the point and, and just keep the convo going in a sense that it's good. Now, night game, you know, if she's at a club or a bar, then yeah, there's a bit more of an expectation that she is going to get hit on by a guy, okay? And she might have right before you even came on the scene, who knows. Um, so yeah, that, that happens. But anyways, as you go through that, she's gonna say, oh, thank you, or she's not gonna say anything at all. At that point, you're gonna say something, and I like to bring at this point an observation, okay? Um, if she has tan skin, it's like, hey, are you Latina by any chance? You know what I'm saying? You could say that, and she's either gonna say no or yes, and she's gonna give a little bit of an explanation. Uh, I don't want to go super canny here. Uh, from here, I really just kind of go through, but I will say an observation. Um, Maybe I'll say something about like the nice dress that she's wearing, if she has an awesome style, or like maybe she's like wearing all black and has like this punk rock girl vibe to her. And I'm like, I, I could just say something about that too, you know what I'm saying? And just mention that. There's so many different areas to go about. Uh, some of the best observations to bring up is how she is like, like your first impression in real time. It's like, damn, you're like really, really chill right now. I'm, I'm digging it. It's like, it's relaxing me. Like. You know what I'm saying? You say stuff like that and it'll make her smile and it'll make her like feel acknowledged. And that's something that you want to do. Or like, wow, like you're, you're really intense, but like you can't keep up with me. Like, like don't even try. You know what I'm saying? You can say stuff like that. That was an observation and a tease. So it's like different things like that that you can combine. As you go through though, you go make the observation. She might comment on it. Again, any silence, you want to fill it. You don't want to talk fast though. Okay. I want to— it's a weird dynamic where— it's not weird, but it's something to keep in mind that you want to take your time talking. You want to like talk like kind of the speed I'm talking, like, or even slower. Sometimes if I'm like saying something flirty, I'll say something slower and I might even lower my voice a little bit. And that's just kind of like what I'll do. But in, in general, I just kind of keep it at this type of speed, and I would suggest you guys to do the same. Um, some of you guys, when I hear your recordings, you guys are talking really fast because you're trying to carry the conversation, and I get it. But you do need speed when it comes to filling in the gaps of the conversation. That's different. Okay. So after I say, you know, let's say in this example, after I say, Are you Latina or what? Like, I see your tan skin. Like, it's like, no, I'm just white. I just go to the beach a lot, whatever, right? And at that point, then you go into whatever she's bringing up. So in that situation, going to the beach, you know, you can just be like, it's like, oh, okay, so you're a beach bum. I get it. Like, I— and then you can give like a personal input as like what you think about the beach or your experiences with the beach or how often you go to the beach. Or how often you don't go to the beach. Okay, personal input is good at any point when she brings up something. And then also you can bring in open-ended questions. It's good. The only thing about open-ended questions, they're great, but don't like hit her over and over again with open-ended questions. I see that a lot, or just questions in general. Like, I see guys do this so much where they go question, question, question, question, question. Uh, you don't want to do an interview mode because it just doesn't actually— it surprisingly doesn't actually bring about good conversations. It's better when you that, you ask the question, let her respond, and then a good trick to this is you answer the question that you asked. Okay, so let's say, are you a beach bum in this example? Okay, then she says, no, I go like once a month, but when I do, I try to get a good tan on. Then you can answer and be like, well, I, I really don't go to the beach much because I do a lot of work and different things like that. But anytime I do go, it's really relaxing. I like to see the sunset. I like the breeze. I like, you know, the atmosphere of it. It's really chill. It calms me down. And just say something that's personal input to your situation. It doesn't matter what it is, okay? And what you think about it. Maybe you hate the beach. Say that. You know what I'm saying? Take a direction and don't feel like you have to agree with her on everything. You know, if you hate the beach, then say you hate the beach, even though she just said she loved the beach, right? It doesn't matter what the example is. The thing is that— You get to the place to where you bring your personal input, you ask open-ended questions, and then you sprinkle in some teasing. Don't make it just like, okay, you're, you're pretty and I like you and all this stuff, and you're just elevating her on this pedestal, you know what I'm saying? No, it's like you got to put— you, you guys need to be on the same level, okay? And just be like, tease her a little bit, like give her some shit. She'll love— women love that shit, man. And now that actually gets them to open up. So teasing them and see, look at the teasing module on that. So it's one of those things that like Doing things like that, ask a couple open-ended questions, tease her. That's one of a checklist. Personal input, get her talking, get invested. When you're about like 2, 3 minutes in, 5 minutes in, I always keep in mind to add in another, uh, insert like of intent, you know what I'm saying? So I'll say something. And so I was like, okay, so I'll say something like this 3 minutes to 5 minutes in. So what else do I need to know about this pretty girl? You know what I'm saying? That's it. That's intent. Okay. It's like, what, you know, like what else do I need to know? I'm still, I'm still trying to suss you out. Like, that's a tease. Okay, so I did intent, tease. I could do that shit all day. All right, um, so you do stuff like that, then you get her talking a little bit more, then maybe sprinkle in another one towards like the 10-minute mark. That one's like, it just depends. Uh, sometimes I just have a good feeling, and sometimes you could just go off of like how you're looking at her, how close you're standing to her, what your tone's like. If that's flirty, Enough, which it is with me. But if that's flirty enough and you're doing that, then you don't need to add in so much verbal intent throughout the conversation. But when you're first starting, I would say yeah, I think that's the best way to go about it until you feel comfortable enough doing that. But yeah, so make sure that you do that. Then towards the end, towards like whatever you think the end is with the time, you have to feel this out, man. If you feel like if you ask, like ask about her logistics sometimes because she might bring up something. It's like, oh yeah, I'm, I'm gonna meet a friend. Okay, I'm gonna meet a friend in 10 minutes. Okay, so in your mind you should think, okay, shit, I probably should do— I should probably talk to her for at least 5 or 6 and then like go and try to get her number from there. Don't wait till minute 10 because her friend might call her and then, you know, rush her off, whatever, you know what I'm saying? Whatever the logistics is, you can ask sometimes. So, oh yeah, so, so what are you up to today? That's a good question to ask. That's an open-ended question and it's relevant. What are you up to today? Okay, ask that. You could start to seed the date towards the end of the conversation. Talk about this place that's up, like if it's like a local place. Good places to go on dates on, especially for a first date— coffee shops, always a winner. Uh, parks are good if it's like good weather. Anywhere that you can walk in one place, walking distance, is going to be a winner. Uh, you can do like a low-key restaurant, that's cool. But I would like not spend a lot of time there and I would not make it, I wouldn't make it like the date. I think, I think making a sit-down restaurant a date is kind of like lame, but I think that if it's like grabbing a bite to eat somewhere quick, I like pubs. I like different places like that that are like a fun atmosphere, especially if there's outside seating and you could take advantage of that. That's always a plus. Sometimes going like, if she likes to drink and you like to drink or whatever, you could do like breweries. They're really nice actually. And you could do like some tastings or whatever and like kind of do like a fun thing there. But anyways, so you talk up one of those places, you know what I'm saying? You talk up one of those places like, oh yeah. So you, you hype it up and be like, oh yeah, well, I actually know about this. And you probably should do your homework if you don't know any coffee shops around you that are, that are nice. You want something that's unique. You don't want to go to like Starbucks if you can. I mean, if you could do Starbucks, if that's all you got. Around you. But, um, at, at some point, like, it's always good to hype up like a mom-and-pop shop that people go to. There's always coffee shops, especially if you're living in a major city. There's always a mom-and-pop coffee shop that the locals like. That's like where you want to go, or maybe some breakfast place, or if you're, if you're doing breakfast time, or like a good lunch spot. But anyways, but you'd be like, hey, I really know this one coffee shop. They have amazing seating. They have the really cool outdoor patio. The fireplace is digital and it's, it's pretty nice. And it's just a really, really good place that's relaxing, you know what I'm saying? And you just ask her, or you could ask like, hey, did you, did you even know about that place? You know, it's like you could say something like that. Um, and she'd be like, no, I didn't. Oh yeah, I actually go there from time to time. And then after you say that, or after she responds, like, we should go to that place sometime. We should go there sometime. You know what I'm saying? So you could say that, you know what I'm saying? And that is seeding the date. That's like, okay, boom. Like, I want to take you out on a date is basically what you're saying without saying it. Okay. In a way that's just more smoother. After you seed the date, you could even like tease it. Like you'd be like, oh man, it's like, I don't know. It's like, dang, I don't know if I want to take you for coffee more after you said that. Like you could tease, you could almost like you're taking it off the table. Like after having that, that seeding of the date, you could take it off the table, so to speak. It's like, it's like, man, grabbing coffee with you is going to be crazy or getting drinks with you is going to be— I don't know if I can do it. You're starting— the crazy is starting to show a little bit. Like, you know, so you can say shit like that. Okay. It's fun. Uh, You could always tease taking away the dating potential later, which is always cool. Different things like that. Talk it up. Make sure there's enough teasing. Make sure there's enough intent sprinkled in. Let her get to know you, personal input a little bit. Have one comfort. Don't go super deep into your life and stuff, but have one thing of that she can connect to and that builds comfort. You want to have one of those and just move the conversation along. Okay. Then afterwards, hand the phone over. Like, take out your phone. It's like, it's like, it's like, hey, put your number in so we can go do blank sometime. You know what I'm saying? That gives her a reason to put her number in your phone if you need that reason. Or you could be like, hey, put your number in. I say that a lot. I just take out my phone. I don't say anything. I sometimes I say some, some slick stuff in the moment, but I really, I really go freestyle on that. And I was just like, hey, just put your number in. I say that a lot. Put your number in. Take out the phone, hand it to her. All right, and she does more times than not. And then as she's typing in the phone number, you're talking to her. You're making another observation. Oh, I didn't notice that necklace earlier. Is that like looks like a family heirloom or something? That's crazy. Oh no, I just got it at blah blah blah. You keep the conversation going. All right, talk to her for a little bit more. Don't just get her number and dip. Um, build rapport, and then after that, then you're in that texting phase. But that's pretty much the conversation part of it, okay? The conversations are supposed to be relevant to the female. So whatever she's saying— I gave you an example, but the conversation might be totally different if she didn't mention the beach, you know, she said something else. Or maybe she brings up her work a lot, you know what I'm saying? That conversation will look kind of different, and I will respond differently accordingly. In real time. And that's what I want you guys to do is that you respond accordingly in real time. Okay. That only happens with practice. You're going to suck in the beginning with this. Okay. You just have to get your reps in. And the only way that you're going to get your reps in is that if you put yourself out there more. Okay. And the thing I, I don't mind social circle. I don't mind that you have a social, you have a circle of friends and there's like that one girl that you're talking to. And like, that's a very common situation for a lot of guys. But that's why I push cold approaching, because you get that practice in and opportunities grow exponentially. The, the competition diminishes exponentially than dating app. Okay, so this is your time to shine, you know what I'm saying? With cold approaching, I've gotten so many women this way. I've been in bed with so many women this way. I've, I've gotten so many dates, like All this has come from cold approach, okay? And it gives you an opportunity to practice. And if it's at a public place, the chances of you even seeing her again are slim to none. You could just go on to the next, man. There's thousands upon thousands upon thousands of women living and doing things all around you all the time. And even when I'm talking to one girl at any given location, there's like hotties that are passing me up as I'm even talking to her. Like, there's so much opportunities, guys. There's so much. All right, so you just have to keep at it, keep practicing this. If you're struggling with this and you're having a hard time even getting the conversation going because of approach anxiety, or because you're just like unsure and you're just really, really overthinking it, work with me one-on-one, you know what I'm saying? I will fast-track you to have this and get a result to where you can actually talk to her. Actually get her number, do everything I just talked about, and go on dates. And whatever your goal is, if you want to fuck her, fuck her, dude. Like, you know what I'm saying? After a while, I'll show you how to physically escalate and to where you can do that. Or if you're on the relational side, you can get that girlfriend, you know what I'm saying, and still have a good time. Like, all that works, and I can easily do that for you. That's all I have for this video. I'll see you guys in the next.
