Ep.35 💥Miracle And Learning: Vania Valtriani's Near-Death, Life-changing Experience
2 Dec 2025 · 48 min
Vania Valtriani survived a hemorrhagic stroke that put her in a coma for several days, followed by two surgeries and a 40-day hospital stay. She experienced a spiritual encounter with her deceased father and Jesus, recovered with minimal lasting damage, and Medicaid covered most of the hospital bill. The near-death experience redirected her toward faith-based work, a YouTube channel, and a book coming in Portuguese this August.

[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Hey, everyone. Welcome to the Money Saw your Problem podcast. Today I have a special guest. Actually, she was part of a Portuguese episode, but her story is so amazing that we need to tell her in English as well. We have with us today Vanya Valtriani.
Hello, guys.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Thank you.
How are you?
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Good.
Very good. Thank you for this opportunity to do this again. And now in English, let's see if I can speak in Spanish too, with someone.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah, that's. I thought it was so incredible that we needed to do your story in English as well. And your episode was well downloaded. So I'm like, hey, we need to spread this to more people because that's very.
Yes, I'm glad for this. Thank you for helping me with this.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Of course. So let's start a little bit. Tell everybody a little bit about yourself and how you came to United States and what you were doing. Family.
Okay. Okay. I'm from Sao Paulo. I was born in Campinas and I am a mom, a grandma, a wife, a very happy wife. He is a very good guy. I like him. And we arrived here 11 years ago. We came to study, work, and then at the beginning, it was only to study and get the new experience for my husband in his work. But we love this place and the kids love this too. And they got married here. And I have grandkids, was born here. So probably I'll stay here for a long time.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yes, absolutely. Do you still have family in Brazil? Do you ever go visit?
Yes, I have mom and brothers. Two brothers and. And their families.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And do you guys ever go back and visit or they come and visit you?
Well, my mom, she always come because she. She cannot be a part of us for more than one year and a half. But for us to everybody go together. We never did this before because it's too expensive. But my husband is more interested and be there than me, so.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: So then he'll go more often.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Well, if your mom comes here, then it's a good.
I don. Yeah, well, she gets to see the.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Great grandkids and she gets to spend time with you guys. Right? So, yeah. Then when we go over there, it's just. If it's just us, then it's just one person. But when they come, they get to See everybody, right?
Yes, yes, yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Let's look back in your childhood and your time growing up in Brazil. How did your family look at money?
Well, in a very poor country as Brazil, such as Brazil, my mom and daddy was always telling money is hard to get, so save it all the time.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Did both of them work or your mom?
Yes, yes, they both work together and they are always working hard. My mom is a very good example for me about this. My mom too. He was. He knows how to save money. He was always making notes, taking care of everything. Because this. He always say we have fuel, so I have to take care of the few that we have to save some.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. And your dad and your mom, do they have their own business or did they work at the same job?
How. Okay, so my dad, he already died 16 years ago. He was a retirement from his job that he works for the. His whole life. And my mom, now she is retired too. But they didn't get a lot of money and many things. They never opened their own business. They always work for another company. I. I think people in Brazil, they feel confident about this. It's not like open more business. Yeah, yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: I guess because of the. The benefits, right?
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: The benefits are what keeps them there. And so they don't want to lose that safe job.
Yes, that. That is correct. Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And. And it's interesting because a company can shut down at any minute is. And we have that. We. It's a fake feeling that a company's safe.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: What I think it's the best way to think about what is safe is what you can do. Your capabilities, your skills. If you lose your job, are you able yourself another job or start something. Right. So those are the things that we can count on because we have control, right?
Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Do not have control if the company is going to shut down.
And that. Yes, that is true. But I think because they live in a different time, they have different mind.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. Different mindset.
Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Well. And they did the best for their family. Right. And that's.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Usually what people do.
I'm so grateful for them. They. They did the best that they could. And I'm apprecia. Appreciate a lot of this. I. I was, I wasn't a person that was trying to get more from my parents because I. I was the oldest daughter. I only have youngest brother. So I was always thinking there I see they are doing their best. They are doing their. I. I think it was unfair if I asked for more. You know what I mean?
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah. You were able to. To observe their sacrifices and yes, when. What's the difference between you and your brothers in terms of ages?
Okay. It's not so different age. We have two years and a half each one.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: So you grew up in a family that sounds like really put a lot of value into work and.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Ethic.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Teaching you guys how to be frugal, right?
Yeah. And yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: That sets you kind of help you. Set you up to move over here, right?
Yes. And do you know, it's so interesting and it's funny because sometimes this country has a totally different economy than my country, so. And sometimes I do something here that I say, my gosh, my parents will be crazy if I did. But here is normal.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right, everybody? Yeah, yeah, but I see that. So do you still carry with you some of the teachings that they gave you? And what are some of them?
Well, they always taught me that doesn't matter how little or few money you get a little part, it always have to be for you, because you are not working only to pay bills. You have to save at least a little. But this is for you because you deserve. So I think this is a good idea and it helped me. Even if I can save $10. Okay, I can save $10. It's okay, right?
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You earn that money, so then that money stay with you, right? Yes. Was there a defining experience in your journey growing up about money that you carry with you or one way, you thought one way, and then this happened and then you start thinking in a different way?
I think I always think the same way. Get money, save money, be frugal, things like this. Well, I never get a lottery, I never get months, a lot of money, and I never. And I never lose a lot of money in any situation.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Well, but you went to work when you're young, right?
Yes, I started working when I was 14 years old.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: So that was something really good. Because then you start having your own money, right?
Yes, yes. And how was that? They say now that you are going to high school, you have to study at 9, because in Brazil you have this and you have to work during the day. And I was working in kind of, they sell foods and everything, but it was a small supermarket, it's not a big one.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Neighborhood groceries.
Yes, yes, yes, grocery. And the owner was a friend of the family of my dad. And he said, well, I have a girl and she needs to start working. So that's why. And I, I worked there for one year and a half or two, something like this. And I was 14 years old, but the money was not everything for me. My parents say, now you contribute to help the family and you have a little money for you to deal with this in the way that you won, because you deserve. So it was this way.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. And was there. We're talking about the, the components, right? How you divided up your money. Was that spirituality was any part of it? Did you give or.
Well, especially think that. Especially about the title. Because I am a member of the church and I always was seeing miracles when not only me, but others people do this. And I have some special experience doing this. And I couldn't. I could understand. That was my guarantee. I. When I was like 19 years old, I was thinking I was looking for the. The title as insurance from God, something like this.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right.
You know what I mean?
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And so you would pay and. And just like insurance, you just pay.
Yes, I trust a lot of this. I trusted a lot of this. So I say I never can stop it. And I have to teach my husband about this because he wasn't like me.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right? Oh, your husband wasn't like you?
Yes. About the title, about the money. We came from different family. Oh my gosh. It was a difficult beginning, but now after 30 years, we are great together.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: It's an adjustment, right?
Yes. It took around five years. Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Because money. People don't like to talk about money. And a lot of times you go into the relationship and you don't know what was. They're growing up with money. They don't. You don't know their background. So then you try to adjust and you think that everybody thinks like you and this money, like.
Yeah, we are never talking about money. Money. I always tell to my kids, you have to talk about money. Don't do the same mistake I made.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: I told my nieces when they were about to get married. I said, there are four things you need to talk before you get married. Money. About debt. If you have any debt or how are you going to manage. Are you okay having a bunch of credit cards? You need to talk about that. Then two, if you want to have kids or not have kids, how many and how are you going to raise them? And the third thing would be religion, because those are really fundamental. If you have. Yeah, religious, it creates a lot of problems. It can create a lot of problems later on. And the last one would be in laws. How I'm gonna handle the in laws. How much they're gonna.
Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Into the couple's life. And so I talked to the girls. I said, hey, you need to talk about these four things. If you don't, don't get married yet. You have. Yes. At least you knew it, right? You gave the opportunity. You know very well. You're saying that it took you about five years to adjust.
Yes. Of the fight. Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: So it's. It's very important. All right. So you pay tithing, you were saving, you always worked. And then when did you guys decided to move?
Okay. This is a very important part of our life. Maybe the big change in our life. Well, my husband had a company. It was a company with signs wrapping vehicle or banners in Sao Paulo. And I was working airline company for many years. And then we have a situation in Sao Paulo that make the company going bad each year more because the new law doesn't allow to have a lot of.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. The signage out the door.
Yes, yes. And then it was going bad, bad, bad, bad. So I think that the most important thing was when the company that I was working, they bought another airline company. And they have a lot of. Of people, two people with the same position, the same job. So when this happened, they decide to get some. And I was one of the. They didn't decide because the other one that was doing the same, they laid.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Off the other people and they kept.
Yeah, he was younger than me. He was. He. He has an advantage. So I was fired. And then I looked. He looked at me. Now what we can do? Do the things going worse each year more. So we decide to sell everything that we have. And I have a dream to come to byu. And he said, what do you think about. We realize your dream now turn your dream come true. So I say, oh, my gosh, let's go. So. And we have savings. And I was secure, I was confident, and everything was doing great. They accept us. And the visa was okay. Very easy. It looked like we have to be here, so we meant to be.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. The things.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Kept lining up and. And yes.
Right. Yes. Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Because sometimes when you're trying to do something and it's just like all the obstacles, there's like, yes. Thing after another. Just like in other things. It just flows. So you kind of.
Yes, that's my way. It flows. Everything perfect for us to be here. So we say, oh, I think we have to be there, so let's go.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And how old were your kids when you guys moved?
Okay. Oldest was 18 years old. He was serving a mission. The middle was 14, 15, and the youngest was 8.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Okay, right. Was there anything from your past that a past negative experience or a belief that wasn't helpful to you that you were able to reconcile and maybe turn around or you have to make peace with it.
Let me see. Well, no, I think. No.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: So you told me in the beginning, and I think I kind of. I picked up on this, but I don't know. It might not have been that important to you that you said that your dad told you that money was really hard.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. Do you still believe that money is really hard to get?
No, no, no, no. I don't believe it. I think I changed it when I was like 18, 19. I start thinking different about this. It's not with me anymore for a long time.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. Because when we. I see this a lot. When people carry a belief that is just handed down, it blocks their opportunities because they always think that, oh, if money is always hard, if.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Oh, that's too good to be true. I'm not even gonna try without even analyzing. Right.
Yes, yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right, yes.
And they can suffer a lot for this, but. Okay. Being an university doing administration business has changed my perspective about money a lot. I'm so grateful that I did this at university.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. And that was this. The perfect timing. Right. Because now we're gonna get into your experience. That was.
Yeah. The beginning.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Life change.
Everything life change.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. Maybe you needed those experience in the beginning to be able to either recognize and.
Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Deal with the difficulties and the challenges that you would have.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: All right, so let's dive in. Tell us, Vanya, what happened to you a year after you were here?
Well, we were here for one year. I was studying and my husband was working in the company from his friends that was doing the same thing, wrapping vehicles, banners, just like in Brazil. Yeah. And he has a lot of experience how the guy was so happy with him. So. Yes. But we were in a Brazilian traditional party here in Provo. And I feel very bad. I feel like someone was hitting me with a knife in my head. It was very, very hard.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Like. Right.
Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Stabbing you.
Yeah. And I vomit and I.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You passed out.
Yes, you fainted. And I wake up only four or five days after. I was in coma for four days. And my husband and everybody told me that when I arrived to the hospital in the mountain, they put me in a scan and they realized that I had a stroke. Hemorrhagic stroke. Two vein blasts. And my brain was with a lot of blood in everywhere. And the doctor that was making the surgery come back to my husband and the bishop that was with him because he was translating everything to my husband because his English was not so good. And the doctor said, we cannot do anything to save her. She will Die In a few hours, we'll put her here with those machine. Bring the kids and everybody that want to say goodbye to her. Okay? So my husband bring the girls. My son was in his mission. And then they were there for the whole night, including some friends on our ward. The bishop, my husband, my daughters, my two daughters. But I didn't die well. I was in comma.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: But then your husband, Your husband wants to do something, right?
Yes. He told me that he asked for the doctor after the surgery. And the doctors say to him that.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: I wanted to give you a blessing, right?
Yes. He gave me a blood after the surgery. And then they stayed there for the whole night.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: But it took a little convincing, correct?
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: The doctor didn't want to let him do the blessing.
Yeah, the doctors say, well, you didn't understand. Your wife has zero percent of chance to survive. If something happened, will be a miracle. Because this condition, this situation, her. Her brain is totally full with blood. We cannot do anything. And then I was there for more three days in coma. And I had a very special experience that I count in my channel, YouTube channel, because I saw my dad. I spoke, I communicate with my dad. While I was in coma.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You felt that you got out of your body? Is that what happened?
Like I saw me outside of my body, because I saw my body on the bed, okay. That's when I saw my. My dad close to me, to my body, not me as a spirit.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah.
And then he communicate with me only with his mind. I never forget this experience, because when I wake up from coma, it was everything in my mind, very vivid. It was there like if I was. Well, just had. Even now, even now, 10 years after, I remember every details about everything.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Look at that, you guys, she's talking to me. It's been 10 years since this happened. She's. Yes, we recovered. It was. Yes, be the miracle.
I don't have anything, any problem. And the doctors and the whole hospital was knocking my door. In the hostel, we came to see the miracle because you are famous. Now all the hostel are telling you're famous. I say, oh my God. So I was in the hospital for 40 days though. One a week.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And after you woke up, you stay up for 40 days?
It was 40 days, including the time that I was in comma.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Okay?
And then the doctor, when I wake up, the doctor told to my husband, we have to make another surgery. And my husband say, why? And the doctor said, because we didn't believe that she could survive. We did not close everything in her head. Like we have to do for her. So I was to another surgery. So I have two surgery in my back. Okay. Two scars, one on each cars. Yes, yes. Not only one.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And so was there at any point when you're having. When you could see your body. Did you ever saw your spirit? Like, did you ever.
Well, nice.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Your arm.
What I have in my mind is something like this, Maddie. I was very calm, feeling very good. And the feeling that I feel was something glad I knew that that way that I was feeling. It was not something new for me. It was something like that I knew before recognized that you had recognized.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Okay.
And I was in peace. I was calm. I. I saw my body. And I was not worried or stressful. And think about what's going on. How we see on movies.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Overwhelmed.
Yes. I wasn't floating.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Flying.
Well, we see a lot of movie that they show different stuff. Oh, I just telling what I remember. I was very calm. I was feeling very good. And I think saw me. But that one doesn't make me feel bad. And then I saw my dad. And my daddy spoke with me in my mind. He never used his mouth. I remembered it.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah.
Voice or. Or mouth. So he called me my dear daughter. And he opens his arm. And I feel that something very good was coming from him to me. And I think it was love. It was so good. Something very. Now that different now that you just.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Said that he made me think when people say you're embraced by the love of Christ. That's what made me think right now. It's that feeling because you don't have around you. But you feel that.
You feel. You feel. Yes, you feel something like that.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You gave me goosebumps now.
Yes. And it's difficult for me to speak about this without cry because I miss certain. And he was very good. Not like the man that died of cancer on 76 years old. And he was very handsome as I remember when I was a kid. But he has something here. His face that I never saw in this earth. He was different. Something different that I cannot explain.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Was that a light or is that a.
It was something in his physiognomy. Physiognomy?
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah, the countless, huh?
Yes. It was different that he never had beer.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You still could recognize. That was your dad, right?
Yes, because he was my dad. I know he was my dad. He was my dad. Like when he pick up me his arm. He was that way. And I feel a lot of love coming to them from me. I'll never forget this. Well, I'm telling about all of this with details. In my channel.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: In YouTube channel, look her up. Because she has the experience from all different people that were involved.
Yes, everybody. Everybody that was living this miracle story. One to say something in my channel. When I decide to tell to everybody this. My husband, my mom, my kids.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: What it took a while for you to decide to tell your story?
Yes. Because for me it was very sacred. I shouldn't keep this for. Only for me. But after many years praying and attending the temple, I was thinking what I can do with this. And one day Jesus told me very clear, this sacred doesn't need to be secret. You have to tell this to everybody. And now this is my mission. I wrote a book. The book is already finished. It will release on. On August.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Awesome. Then we can.
It will be. The first one will be in Portuguese. But we already have some plans with the company to make this in English next year. And in my channel, I and everybody, we are all speaking in Portuguese, but we have translate for you have this English and Spanish because we wanna. We want all the children of go and understand what happened.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah. The most people, right? Because you know that the most people that come in. Yes.
And my. My mission now is focus on this channel and my book and the other book in English and probably I want to do another one in Spanish too. Because my son is. Got married to Mexican girl and I love her a lot.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Okay.
My. My Mexican daughter. And I want people that speak. Speak Spanish know what happened with me.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah. And. And that for you to show. Right. That Christ is alive. And then.
Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Miracles that he can do in all of our life.
Yes, yes, yes. All right, tell me.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Well, you met your dad. You gotta finish the story, right?
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: So you saw your dad. The interaction when my call.
When my dad called me and opened his arm. I just. Just think about this because I think I could communicate with him with my mind too, because it was a very different experience. So I. It's difficult to explain, but I. I remember that I. I said in my mind to him, know that I have to stay here with her. And I show him myself on the bed.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right.
And he disappeared. And I don't remember anything else about my dad. The next experience that I remember that was in my mind when I wake up up. I was aware that I was back in my body. And I was feeling very bad. I was feeling like if I was dying, I feel there was something in my throat and it was very hard for me. And I was feeling that. That I was like if I was dying alone, I was aware that I was alone. In a bedroom. And I start praying because I think maybe I'm dying in my body now. And then I fel someone or something close to me in my left side of the bed. And I don't know if I saw him with my eyes. I think it was my eyes because it was my spirit. I don't know how I saw, but I saw someone very, very amazing. He was a man, he was very tall. And his eyes was like fire inside. Like it was the sun inside his eyes. I don't know how explained is different because his eyes was yellow like flame. And when I looked to his eyes, it looked like that I was inside his eyes. I dip inside his eyes. And he spoke with me in my mind. And he said. He said three things for me. He said the first thing was make me amazing because I said, why he's talking this for me right now while I'm feeling so bad. And he said, we are very glad with your missionary. He's doing a great job. And I was, I. I knew that he was talking about my oldest son, Jonathan. And then the second thing that he said, your husband is a man with a great faith. Because of this he will see some miracle in his life. And he took my left hand and he said, everything will be fine. Very, very slowly. And while he was telling me this, I felt like if someone was hitting me from him. Something was coming outside from here to me. But it was something like I could feel in my body. It was warm, I don't know how, it was like a hug, but it was not a hug. He was choking my hands. So. And I started feeling that I was feeling nothing, nothing bad. I didn't feeling nothing, but I didn't feel cold. I didn't feel like if I was dying or all the bad feeling that I was feeling. And then I remember that I think I know what is this coming from him to me is his love for me.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And was that similar to what your dad, what you experienced with your dad?
It was 100 more stronger. Yeah. I don't have words, words to say how, how big, how huge was different from my dad. And when I felt that love, I. I think by myself, well, this is not an angel. This is not another person. This is my savior. And I know why he decided to. To die for us is because of this love that I'm feeling right now, that that is healing me right now. That's why this is the way that he loves. And 40 days on the hostel, it was difficult for me because sometimes I was crying because I Want to be with Jesus again. And sometimes I was very happy because I was with my family again. It was very difficult. Sometimes depressed, sometimes very excited. It was difficult for me.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Could you.
Because.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Do you have any knowledge or could you see your family or just in the room? Just that experience in the room.
Only in that room.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Okay.
Only that. Only my dad and my. And Jesus.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You're not gonna leave, right? You were not gonna leave, so you didn't have to go.
Yes, I wasn't the other side. Some people say, oh, you arrived to the other side. Say, no, never. Because my dad come to me in the hospital and Jesus come to me in the hospital. And what. I can't. That is amazing for me to think that the savior of the war, he was worried about me. I important person and someone like you and everyone. And he was there to hang my hand. And when I wake up, the doctor couldn't understand why I didn't have any bad symptoms. I was.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: They side effects, right?
Yeah. Or side effect. And I only stay in the hospital because they want to make sure that it was everything okay. I have to make a lot of things, a lot of tests, a lot. A lot of. A lot of things.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: It's a liability. They get concerned that if you died your house.
Yes, yes. Probably. Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And they want to collect the. The check. Right. Because you stay 40 years.
Yes, yes, yes. It was a lot of money. My goodness. Well, we'll talk about all the money that I have to make. My. How can I say, post graduation here it's called.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: It's undergrad. Is the college graduate. Work is like the master's degree.
Oh, yes. It was a master degree. Yes. So the money for the master's degree. Gone. So I didn't have the money, but I didn't care because I am another person.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Tell the miracle about the money. What happened? How did you. How much money was the bill? The hospital bill?
Okay. The bill was almost three.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: $3,000.
Yes, yes, yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And how much you had for your master's degree?
So I had like around 30,000. I think it's 30,000 that we say. And we apply for Medicaid because we were a student. We have a visa as a student. And after many praise, they pay 90% of the bill for us. And we paid 10%. My goodness.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And it wasn't even more or less. It was just enough, right?
Yes. That's amazing. I say, oh, my God. Lord. Lord loves me. And I don't care that I don't have any money.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. Because that. You realize that that was not what matters.
Yes, right. In fact, my mom always tell me that Vanya died that day. Because this is another one completely different that I know that I knew before.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Did you like to go shopping? Did you go? You do like fancy things. Why did she say that?
No, it's different because I have different perspective. I see the same situation in a totally different way. I can guarantee that I feel much more peace now and confidence in Lord and Jesus. I see almost everything very different now.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah, because you know the reality, right?
It's totally different. I. Sometimes I look to some people and I think, oh my gosh, they should almost die too. They will be more happy. I think it was the best thing that happened in my life. I can see the. The life totally different. Even my relationship with my husband, my kids, our family relationship is totally different. All of us. Yeah, they are all in the channel. My. My kids, my husband, bishop friends, family, my mom. They are all talking about everything in my channel.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah, that's great, because they have all the testimony there.
Yeah. They want to say what they saw and what happened with them after that. They want to say to everybody.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Because it was a turning point for your family and for those involved. Right. And now with your channel, you can have other people.
Yes, sure. Right. Yes. That is my goal. To help people to have the same perspective that I have or see the life in the same way without a stroke.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right, exactly. Because not everybody needs to have this, you know, angel showed up or something. Yes, but there was a reason why that happened to you. And now you're doing what he told you to do. To tell.
Yes, right. To.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: To be sacred, but not secret. Right. Because miracles that just like when he was alive, he would tell people and he would do miracles and say, you need to go tell this miracle.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Because a lot of people will believe. Because.
Yes. I have been amazed how people are communicate with me, how they feel when they listen me. This is a treasure for me. If I thought it will happen, I. I'll start before. Not everybod body loves some.
Right.
I have some haters too, but I don't care. I. I try to answer them in the way that I see the things. For example, a guy, he said, why Jesus loves you more than my mom because she died with the same thing that you have. And he's saving you. And he doesn't. He didn't save my mom.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: I wrote a letter, right?
Yeah, yeah, because he's. He's hurt, he's feeling.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yes.
So I was trying to help him. I don't care about the thing that they say that is bad. So I'm here to help them too. All of them.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah, it's. It's really. The hurt is in a person.
Yes. Right.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And certain situations, certain triggers, they'll just make that person. It's part of their journey.
Everybody has to live something.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah. It's part of their journey. And, and we cannot rush them. We cannot especially. You know, you talked about your kids and how does this experience help them or wow, made a difference for them. I heard your son talking and that was just amazing.
My son was in his mission serving Guatemala, and when he knew about what was happening, my bishop called his president and he said, mom, after we spoke late, he told me, mom, I, I thought that coming back to see you in comma wasn't help. I. I say to the Lord, I'll put all the missionaries to fast for my mom and I'll stay here and you have to help her. So the president and everybody start to fast with him and they pray a lot. A lot of people was together on this. And my second daughter, she told me while I was in the hospital, mom, if you die, I will turn my back to, to the Lord and church and everything. I say, oh my gosh, I'm glad that I'm here. And she is the most one that's speaking my channel. She says something very special that it's very. Is a treasure for me and I'm so glad.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah, it's. It's just like you said about the haters. Is that how a person decides to deal with that hurt?
Huh?
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right?
Yes. And.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And tell us a little bit about your younger daughter. Youngest.
Well, she, she is 18 now and she was 8. And she's always telling me, well, Mom, I don't remember details, but the most big feeling that I have is gratitude. I am thankful for, Lord, allow me to have my mom with me because I was too young.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right.
I couldn't imagine losing you in eight years old. So I only have thankful. Gratitude.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Gratitude.
That is what she said. Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: So you had this, this miracle happen and you guys were blessed to not have to carry all that debt from the, the medical issue, the, the hospital bills and all that. How have you taught your kids about the money? I don't think you ever got your master's degree. You haven't got your master's degree yet, have you?
No, I, I didn't have a message again because my goal. Goals change a lot.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Okay.
In my mind, I was thinking about the goal to get a master degree and we will return to Brazil. But everything changed. We have others experience that told us to stay here.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And I guess for your new mission, maybe you didn't need that.
Yes, I don't need. Because I don't need money for my mission. I have the channel. I have to invest a little money for the. The book I'll have in paper and online and in the future. Audio.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You did the audio, huh?
Yes. I want to reach more people that I can. So everything that I can for more people. Got it. I would do.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And I think what I feel from you talking is just like the scripture that says that the Lord will take care of the. The birds. Why he would not take care of us. And it just feels like that. That you are in a condition. Of course you guys are.
You.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Your husband has a job and. But yes, enough. It just feels to me that you guys have enough and your life is more than whatever. That you're just having a peaceful life and helping as much as you can. That's the feeling that I get from you.
Yes, you were right, I think. And it's not.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And it's not to say that someone who's making more money and donating and helping other people, it's not good.
No, it's good too. It's a different message.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. It's a different mission.
Right. They can help more, but I'm trying to help in another way.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Exactly. Well, if we. Everybody would have the same way to help, then we wouldn't be able to help.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right.
Yes, that's. And I'm so thankful for you to give me this opportunity to tell this to everybody that is speaking in English. I hope they can understand my accent.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: They do, but they're used to mine.
You are helping me to complete and to continue my mission. I'm so glad for you, Maddie. Thank you so much.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You've made such a big difference in my life. And I just. I'm glad that now we have this part of the journey that we're doing together because it's an honor to meet you guys. And I told you I think your husband's story needs to be his own chapter on your next book.
Because, yes, I'm trying to convince.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Well, you can write about him and collect his story and put in your.
Book because he is very humble. So he say, I am not the hero of this story. Jesus is the hero of the story.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: No, but he's the. The hero of his story. Right. You, both of you working together. And. And look at that. How much you're teaching your Children about that. So as we. We get to the end here, what is something. Let's say you have someone who's going through a very difficult time like you guys did. Because even though you didn't have any. You didn't have anything lingered from that. There still was a little bit of adaptation coming back. And you about your language on the other interview that first you just came with English and took a while.
Yes. I couldn't understand Portuguese. My gosh, I was crazy.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Right. And then there was all, you know, this not adaptation, but like going back to living.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Doing all those things. So what would you say to a woman that's going through very difficult time and trying to, you know, get back to herself and maybe something amazing happened to her and now she sees her life in a whole different way or has okay. Figured out or figured out her mission or something. What would you say to her?
Well, I'll. I could say three things. Things. First, be careful because the war is trying to treat all the woman. The women. The women are being tricked about those things that they have to be like men. They are much more than men. They can do things that the men can. So the second thing I should say that they have to remember that they are in the best place of this world. I don't know where they live life, but they all of them, you, me, all of us. We are daughters of God. We are in his hands. He love us more than our parents love us. He's taking care of us. And then someone that is listening maybe are thinking why he is. He left me in this situation. Because you have to learn something. And after you learn this, you will leave this situation. So trying to learn fast. And this will lead to God. So. And the third, the last one, Jesus and our Father in heaven. They are very proud of us. Don't be too hard in yourself and trying to expect perfect. Yes. You cannot be perfect in this life. But the Lord are very, very proud of our effort. He is very proud with our efforts. So you have to be proud of you too.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And always try to do a little better, right?
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And move forward.
Yes, that's what I want to say. There's nothing. There's not secret or tricky or there's nothing else different. I don't have anything different to tell.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah. Those are truths that sometimes we forget or because they are simple people are expecting some kind of miracle. Yeah. Answer and it's not. No, it's a very simple. It's just. Yeah, we are just as you're saying. The world is Trying to trick us. Yes. Not believe in certain simple things.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: I'm so glad that you came and told your story. And we. I guess we got a little deeper this time than in Portuguese, huh? So now we got people in Portuguese. So just to finish, let's finish in a more light note. So let's go back to the money and tell me what is one of your financial decisions that you thought it was the worst First.
Oh, my gosh. When I put some money in a business that I didn't understand nothing about. Well, I. It was like five years ago. I said, well, the word is online. Everybody is online. Okay, I'll sell stuff online. But I didn't understand how this word worked. I am. I was born in 1968. It was a different world for me and it was bad for me. Me, I didn't get what I want, so I changed my mind and moved to another business.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: You did something else. All right. And what is one thing that you ever bought that you thought that you wasted?
Money.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: This is the worst thing ever.
A letter. A letter. Because every girl won a letter. And I have to be like everybody. I was.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Yeah.
20 something. And I was working in an airline company and all the girls and I have to have.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And then you spend a lot of money on purses, handbags.
Yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: All right. And now let's go the other way around. What is something that you didn't spend a whole lot of money that you bought that it turned out to be better than you expected?
Oh, there's a few things. Okay. Well, I bought a very good use it computer and I still with him almost. Yeah, yeah. It was very cheap and I was thinking I use it. I don't know. But it's still working very good.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Excellent. So sometimes.
Yes, yes.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Sometimes we are lucky.
It's so good. I think. Yeah. That is because I use this a lot. So.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Absolutely. We need especially you with your YouTube channel. You have to have computer. And those tools really help us to connect with other people. People, Right.
Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: They can be used for good.
Yeah.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Vanya, thank you so much for this. This has been.
Oh, I thank you, baby. Thank you for this opportunity.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: And when your book comes out, I'll have you talk about.
Yeah. If someone want to know which is my channel is my Portuguese name is a little difficult. Vania Valtriani.
[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: But that's okay. We'll put the link on the show notes.

[CFM COACH ASSISTANT AI ]: Absolutely. And we'll be your handles for social media so they can follow up.
