A club soccer coach explains how to get recruited: email every coach at showcases you attend, follow up with video highlights, and stay open to schools outside California. He shares how he got a full scholarship to an Indiana school and urges players to use coach networks to your advantage.
Well, first of all, congratulations that your team is going to showcases. It's really important that your club team goes to showcases. If you don't know if they're going to showcases, you have to make sure you ask them. But since you are going, here's what you need to do. Here's what you need to do. First of all, you got to send an email to not necessarily every school that's attending, but almost all of them. Not necessarily because you want to go to all those schools, but remember, these coaches all know each other. So if one school shows interest in you and another coach didn't get to see you, well, now later on you could potentially mention to the other coach that you want to know that you Hey, this coach recognized me and messaged me, but I haven't heard from you. Could I find out if you came to my game? Could I confirm you're at our game, or may I politely send you video of the game? Well, let me ask you a question. Do you know every single college soccer team? Are you familiar with every coach? Okay, that's amazing, but those are all California schools. You know, I went to school in Indiana and had the best time ever, and it was because I was open-minded to other schools in different states, and they gave me a full ride because they had more money. If you want more help, comment call and schedule a call with you and your parents.
